  1. Looking at the splits that Woogie posted, is this the game where Hall gets a start versus a righty? We should be able to see if Ned's "soft platoon" is still in place.
  2. Sent you a message. Let me know what you want for the poster.
  3. Got to agree with everyone on what a great day it was. We took a foreign exchange student from Slovakia with us today for her first baseball experience. My wife spent most of the game explaining the rules to her. Got to admit it made us look at the superstitions we follow when we are at the park. Only problem now is we have to figure out how to keep her going to the games when she returns to her home land next week since she is now our good luck charm. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  4. I know this is a stretch with it only being a kid give-away, but does anyone have an extra poster from 5/31 they are looking to trade/sell. Let me know. Thanks
  5. As someone's sig reads... Bill Hall wins games!
  6. As a big Hall fan I wonder the same thing. For now, I'm hoping it will send a message to Billy and that will somehow magically turn his year around. Even with my pink (bat) colored Hall glasses, I've got to admit that the Branyan move is a welcome one for this team. Ride the Muscle hot streak for all it's worth.
  7. What a great day! Mother's Day and my birthday take a back seat as my son has a great experience. We got to the park around 11:30 and headed to the Brewers Offices in the right field corner. We handed in our signed parent permission slip and my son was given his Culvers t-shirt and a new Brewers cap. We were given 4 tickets in section 229 (outfield loge) on the aisle. We were told to go enjoy the ballpark and be back at the offices around 12:15. My wife mentioned to the girl working that I would be accompaning my son to the field, but the girl asked if my wife would do it instead as they were going to let the kids and their mothers on the field today for Mother's Day. Looks like I had been assigned duty with my 2-yr old daughter and to man the camera. When my wife and son returned to the offices, Sam was given a ball and the two of them were led to the field with the rest of the Culvers' kids and moms. It was at this time that he found out that he would be announced at shortstop with J.J. Needless to say, my wife was just as happy as the 10 year old (probably for other reasons though). As they were announced at short, my wife and son made sure to jump over the 1st baseline (no chance at jinxing the game). On the run to their position, my son dropped his pen from his pants pocket. When Ryan Braun was announced, Sam was able to get a high-five from Ryan on his way to left. When J.J. got to the field, they told him that they had no pen, so the three of them moved to 2nd base to join Rickie Weeks. Sam was able to get J.J.'s autograph, but the National Anthem started before Rickie could sign. They were shown on the video board during the Anthem and can also be seen on the FSN broadcast running to and from the shortstop position. I'm thinking the club may want to pay my son to be around more. J.J. with 3 hits on the day and Braun with two HRs after Sam's good luck "five". A coincidence...I think not. Thanks for letting a very proud dad go on for along time.

  9. I though about the possibility of Jones yesterday as well, but not as a signing after being let go by Detroit. Rather as a match with Turnbow in a "change of scenery trade". Assuming with the DFA from Detroit, they would have 10 days to try to work out a deal before releasing him. Don't know if he has ever done much as a pinch hitter (his only real spot on Brewers roster), but I believe the Cubs are still paying part of this year's salary so that makes him more appealing http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. My wife was at teh game with 35 high schoolers as part of their senior class trip. Watched til the end hoping to catch a glimpse of them in the stands. Not real excited when she called after the game to say they had left after the 7th inning. I could have been spared the whole Turnbow melt-down.
  11. Not sure about the type of tickets. Tried calling the Brewers back today to confirm that we could make it to the game, but only got an answering machine. Will let you know when we hear more.
  12. My 10-year-old son and I just got home to find a message on the answering machine from the Brewers. After a couple of years of filling out millions of cards at Culvers, he was chosen to take part before the Sunday May 11th game. Not a bad birthday present for me (#40), Mother's Day surprise for my wife, and oh yeah, our son is pretty excited too. Don't know how I'll get him to think about other stuff for the next couple of weeks. He's already planning out questions that he will ask each player depending on who he gets to stand next to.
  13. Narveson's line through 4 innings = 0 runs, 2 hits, 1 walk, 2 k's. Now if the bats could get something going vs. Blanton
  14. Narveson with his 3rd scoreless. Runs his spring numbers to 1 run in 8 innings.
  15. Gwynn with his 2nd hit to lead off the top of the 3rd but is stranded after groundouts by Hall & Fielder and Hart's KO.
  16. Narveson strands another in the 2nd to keep the score at 1-0 after two.
  17. Narveson works around a walk and a bloop single to put up a zero in the bottom of the first. 1-0 Brewers
  18. 1-0 Brewers on a Gross bases loaded walk. Going to the bottom of the 1st.
  19. Playmaker13 Are we still on for sale of white Kuenn this weekend at the park? I'll be there Saturday and Sunday. Let me know and I'll get you my cell #. bensheeps
  20. I'll be there on Saturday night for sure (Sunday is still up in the air) if you want to take care of the Kuenn then. $10 still work?
  21. Playmaker13 Sorry I haven't responded, but been swamped lately. Would be interested in the white Kuenn for $10 but may have problems with meeting up to exchange. My next game isn't until final weekend of regular season and I live in SW Wisconsin. Let me know what we can work out.
  22. Playmaker13 How much would you want for the white Kuenn?
