  1. In no way is that an error. He was fully extended on the play and it hit the tip of his glove. What more is he supposed to do? He could have dove, but the lack of a dive doesn't make it an error. That's a horrible call, absolutely horrible. Too bad Gomez didn't square that up, that would have gone a mile.
  2. I was thinking the same thing...good thing Ryan Howard is a horrible first basemen. Would have been a tough play for him to actually get an out at home though, running towards first base like that. I fail to see how that's an error though, he barely even touched the ball, it was out of his reach. Let's tack on a couple more now!!!
  3. Well that was unlucky. He was definitely out, but the ball hit Gennett and somehow wound up in the glove. Amazingly lucky that he caught it and lucky that the ball didn't roll away or all the way down the line to let the run score and allow Gennett to reach base. Either way, great bunt. Now we need to get him in...not exactly our strong suit.
  4. I'm curious to see what the cause of death is. His speech on Monday night about taking his last breathe and being a legend and all that just seems really really eerie right now. Not saying he did anything, but was he crazy enough to do that speech and then end it himself? I sure hope not but my mind keeps wandering back to that after his Raw appearance.
  5. I've watched several angles of it and I'm positive he hit his arm. The KY players reaction to it is pretty clear. He was beat but didn't even contest the shot, instead threw his arms up and behind his head. It wasn't obvious, but that's a definite game changing play. Jackson couldn't grip the ball, which forced him to double clutch it and throw it up off the glass. I highly doubt he goes glass, and if the KY player doesn't hit his arm, he has a wide open look to win it. It's unfortunate and it certainly wasn't an obvious call but I'm pretty confident in saying he got hit and it cost us a great chance of winning (he still could have missed of course). It's amazing Jackson even got as close as he did while being hit on the arm. I wonder if the officials really missed it or if they just chose not to call it.
  6. The rumor I've seen online is that it's going to be Sting vs Undertaker at WM 31. No idea how accurate that is, but Sting sent out a tweet or something about "31 being his favorite number" and it's been rumored for awhile that he really only wanted to wrestle the Undertaker. While it could be cool, I'm really not looking forward to that, as both guys will be a solid 8-10 years beyond their prime. And Taker has looked pretty bad his last few WM matches. I really thought he would never lose though and the steak would live on forever. I was legitimately stunned when he lost. I'm also seeing that Taker went to the hospital immediately after the match ended. Not sure why...not sure if that changed the match plans or not. I doubt it as the match had pretty much run it's course but who knows. I agree on the other titles. There are so few of them and they seem to be just completely irrelevant other then the main one. I don't get it, at all. Especially with more superstars these days, it's a way to give some mid-carder type guys a push but they just ignore it. I rewatched the opening segment..it was entertaining but went on way too long for me. 20+ minutes of 3 guys kissing each others butts got kinda old. I thought Hogan would be more involved in the show than he was. Also...for those curious about the WWE Network....I streamed it on there on my PS3 without issue. Couple of times the PPV froze for maybe 2-3 seconds, but that was it. I was a tad annoyed though that I as behind live footage by about 10 minutes (they let you pause it, rewind it, start it late from the beginning, etc), but when the PPV ended, my entire stream froze and it took me a good 10 minutes to figure out how to find it again, and then had to FF all the way to where I was. Minor flaw, but otherwise great. WM I think was 55 bucks, so I have to get $5 of usage out of the WWE network in the next 6 months....I'm loving it so far.
  7. Thoughts on WM last night? I thought it was ok, not great. Though I am downright stunned that Lesnar won. I guess I thought it was a foregone conclusion and if they Undertaker was going to lose, that it would be to put over a young superstar of some kind - not to a part timer who is already a pretty big name. I have no idea what the plan is for either of these two going forward, but it just seemed very strange for me. The Daniel Bryan stuff was ok, but seemed pretty predictable. I do like the push Cesaro will get, now out on his own and with the power slam of the Big Show, should help put him over. Was it me, or was that the stupidest looking trophy ever? I just felt that while it was ok, they needed more matches. Basically only had about 4 matches, which isn't enough for a 4 hour PPV. None of the other titles were even contested...just seems silly for the biggest PPV of the year. The opening segment was a waste of time, the Shield match was a waste of time and I felt the other matches were kinda dull and dragged on. Also leaves a lot of wrestlers in weird spots from a story perspective. What does Batista do now? Are they going to bury the Wyatts now? What about Cena?
  8. So basically you're saying they should have been on him once he crossed half court. I'm not saying that at all. But when there is 8 seconds left, a guy is standing still with the ball (and within 3 point range), you should be up on the shooter, especially after he took almost an identical shot last week. When there is only ONE thing that can beat you in that situation, you take that away. If he drives past you, you possible have help or at worst the game is tied. It's not worth arguing about, but I think in that situation, we had a defensive breakdown, albeit a small one, but Gasser being up an extra foot and right in his face might have changed the game. I agree on the pressing KY. Make them work a little bit, use some more clock and maybe disrupt their play. Though I don't really think they ran a set play. The set play was to drive to the hoop I think, which we took away. Once we did that, all the KY players were basically just standing around watching. They didn't isolate him or anything, it was a broken play IMO.
  9. It looked bad to me the moment it left his hand, I guess I don't know why you would try a bank shot in that situation. Not that it can't go in, but it seems like a very odd shot selection at that point in time, from that distance.
  10. Getting into the paint results in a tie game at worse (assuming no foul), which is why Gasser needs to be up on him.
  11. Jackson himself has now stated he got hit on the arm, and it's pretty clear on the replay that the KY player knew it. That would be an awfully ballsy call for an official to make, but it definitely altered the shot and had a direct impact on the game. It's hard to see on any of the angles, but the way Jackson lost the ball and the way the KY player reacted, I think KY got away with a foul there. That said, Jackson still had a clean look after he recovered and missed...but that might be why he tried to bank it in, as I really don't think he would have normally aimed for glass in that situation. It's really too bad, because without the apparent elbow hit, he was WIDE open with a shot he's made on numerous occasions. Just makes me sad thinking about it There's a picture of it on this page, look at #2. Rather than contest the shot at all, he already has his arms up in the air, as if saying "I didn't touch him", which usually means a player did in fact do something wrong. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/college/harrison-hits-huge-kentucky-tops-wisconsin-article-1.1747236
  12. I've watched the replay of Harrison's shot ten times now and there are two things bothering me: 1 - Gasser was WAY too far off of him. Harrison even hesitated for a full second before shooting, make him put the ball on the floor there. Don't let them take a three to beat you. 2 - I still can't for the life of me figure out how the shot went in. It was long and hit the back rim pretty square, 9 times out of 10, that's a huge brick. It somehow spins around the entire rim and in. Literally a millimeter further and it's a miss, and we had both KY guys boxed out. Likely get the board with less than 5 seconds left. I can't fathom both of those things...it's heart breaking to say the least. Also, anyone have a good luck on Jackson's last shot? Did he just lose control of the ball? Or did the KY guy hit his arm? Jackson definitely lost a grip on the all and it seems that the KY player pulled his hands back and put them up in the air, as if saying "I never touched him". But I can't find a good angle of it. Was that what led to the bank? I don't know why you try to bank it in from there...seems like a very odd time for that type of shot.
  13. I like the gold uniforms...occasionally. If they would make it something like their "Sunday Home Jersey" or something, I'd be cool with that. I too think they're going to change the logo, but I doubt they make it gold based. No idea why, just would seem very odd. I do love the dark blue jerseys though, far and away my favorite look.
  14. The thing with me on the final KY three is that Gasser gave that to him. I know it was deep and not a great shooter (and that says nothing about the fact that the ball hit the back of the rim first and amazingly still went in), but in that situation. Clock running down, up 2, Gasser needed to be right on top of him. At least a foot closer. if he goes by you and drives to score, so be it, the game is still tied. He sagged off and Harrison made him pay. Frustrating because he hadn't hit one all game, it was deep and it touched every part of the rim and still went in. Literally a centimeter further and that's a brick, and likely game over. And Jackson's shot was about an inch to half an inch off. I still think the KY player hit his elbow. He lost it on the way up and the KY player put his arms up as if to say "I didn't touch him". Hard to believe you miss one FT all game and it costs you a chance at a national title. This one is going to sting for a long, long time. The team is mainly back next year, but it's just so so hard to get here and to have it that close and taken away...
  15. He has had zero errors in 73 starts. I don't think anyone expected our 4th OF to hit 300 but continuing defensive excellence is desired. If he starts having errors repeatedly, then get on him but his first one in 73 starts. Come on Not to mention this error really wasn't bad. The throw was right on line to third base, it just happened to hit the runner and bounced away. It wasn't high or way off line. Debatable if he should have made the throw (I think he should have and he could have had him). He's not a great hitter, but he's a 4th outfielder that plays above average defense. Hard to complain too much.
  16. I don't understand how anyone can look at Overbay both in ST and in the first 4 games here and think that he's worthy of playing regularily (or even having a roster spot). Reynolds isn't much better, but he needs to be playing against RHP at this point, Overbay just looks bad and overmatched at the plate - and has all spring. And pretty much all of last season.
  17. Selling 4 tickets to the game listed above. I bought these tickets awhile back and unfortunately will no longer be able to make the game. Good seats... Section 114 Row 12 Seats on the aisle I will also throw in 4 Johnson Controls Stadium Club passes for this game as well. I paid almost $60/ticket (face value) when I bought them...will likely accept the first reasonable offer I get on them. I have tickets in hand and can meet in the Milwaukee area or I can UPS/FedEx them to you if necessary as well. PM me if interested. Thanks.
  18. I shouldn't carry over past years frustrations, but the Brewers repeated (probably not, but i'm upset right now) to do something simple like hit a sac fly is frustrating to say the least.
  19. Your name and account number are right on the email. I'm assuming they will be checking you off as you pick it up.
  20. I actually like the mother dying at the end...I think that would have been quite the plot twist if they hadn't already hinted at it. Somehow tied that in, explains how he meets her, like it was her birthday or something and the kids don't remember her, so he sat down to tell the story. I think if they had hidden it, that would have been a pretty shocking and decent end - at least it would have made sense. The thing that really irks me the most is that the title of the show gave them the PERFECT end to the series - to me, the last line should have been "and that kids is how I met your mother". The end. To do anything but that I think was failing to utilize the title they created. The had it perfect with them meeting at the train station. Do that scene, then tell the kids that's how they met. The end. I'm now seeing in places that they only had one ending filmed with the kids. How could you possible be that short sighted 8 years ago? You trapped yourself into one ending because it's the only one you filmed in the second season with the kids? How is that possible? I think anyone could have suggested filming 5+ endings just in case you change your mind. Or, if you want to change it, simply show the kids but not have them have a line at the end - there were plenty of times during the show the kids were on screen but said nothing. Agreed on the article linked above - says pretty much everything well, especially point #2.
  21. HIMYM was one of the first shows I really watched start to finish as it happened. I mean, I've seen every Seinfeld and King of Queens and a few others, but usually in syndication and not in the moment. This show started my first year out of college and I latched on to it as it was more or less my lifestyle at the time. That being said...I have some serious issues with the entire last season and the last episode. To me, it felt like they wanted the show to end after season 8 but got talked into one more year. The fact that we had one final season (what 20+ episodes) that spanned all of 3-5 days at Barney/Robins wedding only to find out 15 minutes into the last episode that they got divorced really irked me. Why waste our time with all of that (even though that's where the mother ultimately was), only to have them divorce right away? On top of that, I felt like the last episode had no flow and covered like 20 years of their lives in minutes, after spending 9 seasons going through it in detail. I thought this was very poorly done. Why not stretch that 20 years over the entire season? Let us feel the events and then ultimately just end with "And that kids is how I met your mother". The show isn't "how I met your step mother or your Aunt Robin". It feels like they settled on an ending 8 years ago and were going to use it no matter what. They also just let stuff hanging in the last episode that I didn't like. We never get to meet the mother of Barney's kid? We never really hear about what happened to Marshall/Lilly in Italy or really how Lilly's life goes at all. I also think we either should have never ever met the mom or seen her at all until the very last moment, that was the perfect end to the show. But since they didn't do that, I agree, let us connect with her a little, let us see her and Ted, don't just kill her off in an unemotional 2 minute way. Throughout the show they always talked about how they drifted apart here and there but that they were always friends and came back for robots vs wrestling and all that - but in the finale, it's pretty clear that Robin is gone and essentially out of the group for a long stretch of time. I loved the first 8 years of the series (though they did some things I didn't like along the way), was rather disappointed with the last season and felt cheated with the finale. Just my take.
  22. I think it's a bit too soon to say that if successful Wojo would be gone to Duke when Coach K retires. It's certainly possible, but Duke will have it's pick of 95% of the coaches in college basketball when it's job opens. He may get considered, but there will certainly be a plethora of candidates to choose from. That said, I'm not a huge fan of the hire. There had to be some reason so many teams have interviewed him and not hired him. Plus I despised him as a player, but we'll see I guess.
  23. That makes sense as he is a WI native (though personally I thought he was holding out for the WI job). They could pay him a ton of money if that's what it boils down to. He's passed up bigger jobs before though (UCLA for example), so who knows. If true, that's about the best hire Marquette could make I think.
  24. SDSU could beat Arizona. They played earlier this year and Arizona won by 9, but SDSU plays extremely good defense and it could be a real slugfest. If that's the case and it's just a one or two possession game, you never know. Badgers can worry about that after we beat Baylor on Thursday
  25. They did play a zone, not sure if they will do that against us or not. Baylor shot something like 65% for the game, and were something like 11-17 from three. That's tough to sustain and both are almost 20% more than their season average shooting wise. They are due for a letdown. Anyone else have a problem with SDSU (as the four seed) getting to play roughly 2 hours from their campus in the regionals? It'll essentially be a home type atmosphere for them I would imagine. I understand we just had that advantage, but we were a 2 seed, not a 4 seed against a higher seeded team. It wasn't like they were a 12 seed that the committee wasn't expecting to make it here. As a 4, they are expected to be favored in both games and make it to this round. Similar to Baylor vs Creighton playing in Texas today.
