  1. That might be the worst lineup I've seen in...well, ever. At least since the early 2000's. And while I can't fault RR for the players in there, I highly dislike the batting order.
  2. With the injuries and a bullpen getting a lot of innings, a rainout would be a huge plus. Give Braun, Segura and Ramirez another day off. Let the bullpen rest. Get Schafer one day closer to returning. I really want rain... Gennett batting third? Is that for real? Wow...
  3. Yeah and that's going to be a problem with multiple delays. He's not going to be able to pitch, sit for an hour, pitch again, etc. Ideally it gets rained out before anything ever happens...or no delays at all.
  4. Hellweg is almost certainly heading for the 60 day DL, Gorzelanny could be heading there too...he's already halfway to the 60 days as it is. That would give two spots, at least for the time being. And as I keep asking for, Weeks can be DFA'd at any time for another spot. Other than Weeks though, that won't free up 25 man roster spots. They either need to DL someone or have someone play through some pain. Can't go through games, especially against the Cardinals with 22 guys (and really 21 since we'll never use Wang).
  5. I have no real updates, other then they have to do something. At some point, one of these guys has to go on the DL, especially if Ramirez needs time off. Schafer played in Brevard last night, so barring a setback, he's ready to return when he's eligible on 5/3 (Saturday). Not sure if this goes in this thread or not, and I realize injuries are hard to control, but DM really put them in this spot by building a roster that has 2 guys that can only play 2b and 2 that can really only play 1b (though Reynolds can and might have to play 3b tonight but that's really not ideal any more). They need to just let Weeks go. We need more versatility on the roster (not to mention someone that can actually do even ONE thing productive).
  6. I'm with you guys with 2 on and Peralta up...I found myself thinking, this could go from our best win of the year (and a real team builder) to a super crushing loss that could be the downfall of the rest of the season. Bullpen is just amazing. And the K-Rod signing looks like the absolute steal of the off season so far.
  7. Just goes to show everyone that I'm an idiot Glad I was wrong....big, big win. Looked bleak, fought back, get to extras and then win with no players and virtually no pitchers left. Got two chances to take the series now, gotta love it!!! Glad I stayed up!!
  8. Winnable maybe...but I'm not holding my breathe. And those 2 HR don't help that cause. The Cardinals are totally in the Brewers head at this point. It doesn't help that the offense is completely inept without Braun in it too apparently.
  9. All of it really hinges on when Braun and Segura return. Sounds like no DL, but we'll see. If they're both out, especially Braun, this lineup is just simply not very good. That forces us to start Bianchi, Herrera or Schaefer, and those are substantial downgrades that I think will severely limit our run production.
  10. I have a tough time trying to figure out where we're going to get runs out of that lineup. Especially against Wacha. The bottom 4 is a huge black hole, Reynolds could hit a HR I guess, but Bianchi and Herrera together is just brutal. Not that there are many options, but still.
  11. Maybe ESPN was a bad example, but he would almost certainly leave if CBS or FOX came calling. And I didn't really mean to be a SC anchor, I was referring to being an actual game announcer - I don't think any of them work more than 2-3 games a week max, and they are generally in the same geographic region the whole time.
  12. It's not even just the off days for me, it's any night (other than Sunday) where they don't play. I found myself surfing channels and flipping between the NBA and NHL playoffs...neither of which I care about. I think part of it is that most of the TV shows I watch are over for the season and there is nothing else on and I'm utterly confused and lost without Brewers baseball at night.
  13. He may not have to work day to day. CBS could hire him to do both football and NCAA basketball games for example. Not that he's done football, but I'm guessing he could. Same with ESPN, they could easily slot him into football and basketball, maybe an occasional baseball game. He'd probably make more money and have most of the summer off. That, or a large market MLB team could come calling offering a lot more money. Basically the same thing happened with Vasgersian back in the day. He ultimately went to SD, then onto Fox and now the MLB network.
  14. [quote name= I don't think it's remotely unrealistic to expect someone like Braun to swing at either of those pitches. Look for the fastball' date=' adjust to the changeup. Even after taking the first one, what's his excuse on the 3-2 pitch? Guessing wrong? That pitch had the plate, and even if it was slightly off the edge, it was certainly close enough to not let go by.[/quote] The 3-2 pitch he needs to hit. Protect with 2 is a pretty basic concept. I have zero issue with him sitting on a 3-1 change up. I doubt there are many situations where an MLB hitter sits on a 3-1 change. However, there is no reason for him to go down looking. As someone else posted, I'd be interested to see his zone chart. I agree that it seems he struggles with down and away. You're probably right on the changeup, tough pitch I suppose. Though it did have the plate, and if he was looking fastball, I'm surprised he didn't swing and miss it. Not sure what he was looking for...usually if you're looking FB and get changeup, guys usually swing. I just don't know how you stand there and take that last pitch. Fastball on a 3-2 count...pretty standard. Had the plate. Doesn't make any sense. Frustrating night all round. Big game tomorrow...I kinda feel like we've won a lot of games playing poorly and have a bunch of losses coming. I hope not, but this team needs to start hitting, especially at home.
  15. Yeah, an 83 MPH change up is exactly what a hitter looks for in a 3-1 count. Be realistic. I don't think it's remotely unrealistic to expect someone like Braun to swing at either of those pitches. Look for the fastball, adjust to the changeup. Even after taking the first one, what's his excuse on the 3-2 pitch? Guessing wrong? That pitch had the plate, and even if it was slightly off the edge, it was certainly close enough to not let go by, especially with the game on the line. I know that's easy for me to say sitting on my couch, just frustrated. That said, Braun had two pretty bad AB's in extra innings.
  16. Come on Braun. You get in a 3-1 count, then just stand there. Both of those pitches were definitely strikes and you don't even take the bat off your shoulder. That's irritating to say the least. I'm sure was guessing, but really? Are you looking to walk there with the game on the line? Gomez swings at ball 4 and Braun takes 2 strikes to end the game. The epitome of the whole game I guess. FRUSTRATING. I feel like the Brewers have not only wasted every scoring chance, but that we also missed an absolute ton of hittable pitches. Maybe not, I'm just frustrated when we lose a game that I feel we should have won. Hard to say how the rest of the game goes, but with just simple baseball, we could have easily gotten 2-3 runs early in this game. The whole game is different after that of course so you never know, but we definitely missed our chances.
  17. Is it me, or have we gotten to Street a few times in the past? I feel like he's blown a few saves at MP?
  18. Well I just dropped a real F bomb on that one. Wow that was literally right down the middle. I can't blame RR too much, the bullpen is just shot and he ended the last inning very well. This game is just going to infuriate me. Wasted so, so many chances to score runs and win this game. Why can't we do anything at home? Not that we can't pull this one out, but our offense at home has been pretty, pretty awful.
  19. How has Reynolds never hit a walkoff with all his power?? Now's as good a time as any....
  20. Yup, 0-10 with RISP. This game needs to end, our bullpen is going to be just fried.
  21. That was a frustrating inning to say the least. And our bullpen gets to throw yet another inning.
  22. Someone get a damn hit. Got the 0-fer so far with RISP, and we've had plenty of chances.
