  1. I wouldn't steal with Braun up. If Braun makes out, then I'd send him. Wow, nice AB Braun. 1-1 and swung at 2 pitches way out of the zone.
  2. HA. You know your team bunts way too much when 3-4 of us make the same joke.
  3. Good start...now have Braun bunt him to second right? That should be blue, but I can't ever seem to get that right.
  4. Nice play Reynolds!! Not exactly pretty but it got the job done. Come on guys, let's win this now please!!! Any walkoff will do!
  5. What happened there Luc? Sure seemed like he would have had a play at second. Not sure if he just lost grip of the ball or the backswing nicked him or what. Let's hope it won't matter...
  6. Denofio is annoying the hell out of me tonight. I disagree Bill, that really wasn't a great pitch on 0-2. It was a hanger.
  7. Figaro's AAA numbers really weren't very good...did he just have a blow up inning?
  8. Rickie. Easily IMO. Yuni was never good and we knew what was coming. But even Yuni at least hit the ball usually and did hit some HR last year. With Weeks, I'm stunned when he doesn't strike out.
  9. Come on Rickie, give us one last good memory of you....just a single will do. Darn, Segura had that stolen easily but it was a strike. Rats.
  10. You guys have more faith than me. This feels like a game we're going to kick ourselves for losing. Gave up a free run basically and left several scoring chance out on the bases. Plus Henderson scares me. Hope I'm wrong.
  11. The offense is going to struggle on a number of nights so long as the majority of the players swing way to often at pitches out of the strike zone and don't draw enough walks. Right now the Brewers sit 5th in batting average among all teams, but only 15th in OBP because they don't draw walks at a good enough rate. Very true. No argument, just hope we can adjust, even a little bit. I really disliked the Duke signing and the fact that he made the team, but he's been very impressive so far this season. Wow. Feeling a Braun dinger here to lead off the inning!
  12. That pitch from Duke was just as close as the one to Gennett. Closer even on Fox Trax. Don't bother ringing him up though. Way to be consistent....
  13. It's also unfortunately becoming a game that may head to extra innings and tax the bullpen even further
  14. That pitch hasn't been a strike all night and is clearly a few inches off the corner and he rings him up.
  15. Kennedy had 73 pitches through three and still gets through 6 innings. That's really quite annoying. Offense having a rough go tonight so far.
  16. Games like this are infuriating. The Brewers have had ample chances to score, yet simply can't hit a routine sac fly on multiple occasions. Padres get one chance, and score because Yo bobbles what should be a pretty easy out at the plate. It's only 1-0 but it's just frustrating to watch us fail to execute simple baseball. I know teams can't do it every single time, but it seems we constantly struggle with men on third and less than two outs. And as I type this, SCOOTER!!!!!
  17. the brewers are already essentially playing with an 11-man pitching staff in how they're using wang. you're proposing that on the heels of a 14-inning game, plus an overworked francisco rodriguez (four straight games), that the brewers essentially go with a 10-man pitching staff? No, Kintzler would potentially be back Friday. My main point is that if the Brewers are going to clear up a roster spot, they aren't going to DFA Figaro. They can simply move Gorzy to the 60 day DL. As far as I know, he's only thrown one bullpen session, meaning he's really not THAT close to returning, seeing how he hasn't pitched at all. This gives him more time to return. With all the crappy bullpens in baseball, why DFA Figaro (or any other arm) at this point when you don't need to.
  18. Why DFA anyone not named Weeks or Overbay? Just move Gorzelanny to the 60 Day DL, send down Figaro and call up Diaz. Gorzy isn't close to returning so if he has to sit an extra week or two, so what?
  19. If he serves immediately, Lucroy will get the day off on Thursday...our only day off in the next 3 weeks. Still have no real backup, but at least it would let Lucroy get a second day off this week (didn't play last night).
  20. At some point, they're going to have to either use Wang more often, even just to face a lefty occasionally, or get rid of him. That type of usage just simply can't be sustained.
  21. Be tough to judge him solely on one recruit. Especially one that is being recruited by virtually every team in the country. But I think the MU program is in a pretty fragile status right now, so I really think he's going to have to nail some solid recruits that can actually perform early or it's going to be a rough few years I think.
  22. I don't disagree .. but the reason Overbay has only been 'filling in here and there' is because they can't start him against anyone anymore and Reynolds is forced to hit against everyone .. which isn't ideal. If Overybay was a capable offensive player he would be splitting at bats with Reynolds.. but that isn't the case. Reynolds is a great platoon player and bench bat when he doesn't start but he HAS to be our everyday right now because we have no other options on the major league roster. It hasn't cost us yet, but if we are trying to field the best 25 man roster we can against all match ups and scenarios... Green is a better option in my very humble opinion. I 100% agree with this. I don't believe Overbay has it any more. Green provides the ideal platoon partner, he also provides defensive flexibility in that he can actually play other positions.
  23. ESPN and virtually every other website/network are paying people to be baseball experts (and all other pro sports for that matter). This gives them something to do to put on their site and get people to look at it. It's completely arbitrary and pointless but it does start a debate to some extent I guess. That said...It's still cool to be #1 though.
  24. Maybe not a standing, but a larger than normal ovation may be in order. But will the media be OUTRAGED? I hope so on both accounts. The Brewers are quickly becoming the major heel team of the MLB, might as well embrace it.
  25. Just to clarify, is that the equivalent of a mid round 1 draft pick from Bruce Seid, or the equivalent of a mid round 1 draft pick from a competent scouting staff? This legitimately made me laugh. It's both sad and funny at the same time.
