  1. I think with Ramirez, is that he had made up some sort of story to defend himself and then they found all kinds of masking agents or synthetic products in his urine and he knew he had no shot, so he simply dropped the appeal.
  2. I saw some silly blog the other day about how the Yankees should try to get Braun. I think the guy was just more or less stating how cool it would be. Some moron at cbs probably just saw it and is making a fluff story about it. It's a dead sports time, especially when all you have to cover today is the Bucks.
  3. I know what you're trying to say here, and I agree with you. I just can't help but laugh anytime there is a post that includes "Jeff Suppan" and "Hall of Fame".
  4. If it stinks this much for us imagine what it is like for Braun. IF he is innocent imagine what the last few months have been like. Yeah, I've thought of that. I wonder what Braun is thinking...of course, he actually knows the facts and what happened at his appeal and whatnot. Hard to say, maybe he knows he's guilty and he's just hoping on hope that he can somehow get out of it. Maybe he really believes he's innocent and he's hoping this will clear his name and not tarnish his legacty and whatnot. If it's the second one, I'm sure every day that goes by is torture. He cant talk about it, he has all these people bashing him and can't really say anything. And even if he is innocent, there is no certainty that he will win his appeal and he could be labeled as a cheater for something he believes he didn't do. That would be hard to swallow...if that's the case. He also maybe thinks he is going to win the appeal based on how that went or whatnot too. While it does suck for him, he at least knows the facts and has a better idea of whats going on than the rest of us do.
  5. I know it's different in basketball with set max contracts and whatnot, but didn't Ray Allen negotiate his own extension with the Bucks a long ways back? I'm pretty sure he did and then simply hired a lawyer to look it over for him. He said he paid the lawyer like $500 an hour, cost him a few grand and that was that. Didn't want to pay an agent 5 or 10% on a deal he could do on his own. Like I said, much different in basketball, but it has been done in the past I believe.
  6. Every day I get to work and a I check this. Then when I have a lull at work, I check this thread again. Then when I'm at home last night, I check this thread. I keep thinking another source will pop up, or a someone will have a verdict or whatever, and every day I'm disappointed. UGH. Can't imagine how much worse it'll feel if one day I log in and see a guilty verdict though. At least at this time there is some small hope that he won't be suspended.
  7. Is it definitely 25 business days? I thought Tom H had a post a week or so ago talking about it and he was saying it was already day 15, like it's just simply 25 days from the hearing start date, not 25 business days. If it's 25 days from the hearing itself starting, we're already on day 18 or so.
  8. I just think at this point there simply hasn't been a decision yet. This could very well be the normal process just running it's due course.
  9. I thought I had read that the written warning would come later and that both sides would have a decision before reciving any sort of written notifcation.
  10. They claim they just didn't see enough from Hobson and let him go. They said they had no pending moves at this time, but who knows. I hope it's bringing in Joel Przybilla or trading Jackson. Bucks are playing the 4-20 Pistons tonight. A team they already beat twice this year. This is a game they really need to win if they're going to actually make a move this year I think. Especially with the Bulls coming in tomorrow night.
  11. I agree, I don't think a decision has been made at this point. The arbitrator is neutral, so he probably could care less what MLB wants. I assume when he decides, both parties will be notified. Once they are both notified, there would be no point in keeping it a secret. Even if they tried, someone would almost certainly leak it. I think if he's suspended, MLB will come out that day and announce it and Braun will likely have a press conference or a statement to defend himself and tell his side. If he's found not guilty, MLB will say nothing but Braun would almost certainly tell the world immediately.
  12. Derrek Lee would also be good for defense. He's a very good defensive first basemen and if Gamel has some issues, could be a late inning replacement as well. I'd take him for cheap but nothing more than a couple of million. And hope that RR doesn't play him as the vet every day unless he's earned it. But he would be a nice platoon option at 1b i think.
  13. I keep thinking that as well, I'm just not sure if it's the same or not. It could just be that this is a longer process than a criminal verdict or that it takes time to submit their final written arguments and whatnot. Nobody really knows as this process has never been this public before.
  14. Yeah, I'm the same way. I probably check it 4-5 times a day, just in case someone has breaking news or something. I think we all just want a resolution at this point - hopefully a good one.
  15. I'm almost positive he can take part in spring training. He would also get to rehab in the minors for a set number of days before his suspension would be over.
  16. Yeah, hard to figure. Bogut goes down (though they were playing better before that), Jackson gets benched....and the team gets better? They are really playing like a team right now, which is awesome. Defense has been good, and Jennings has been playing like an all-star. His improvement this year is downright stunning considering the stepback he took last year. Hope they can keep it up.
  17. what format do the sounds need to be in to work on a phone? .wav files? .mp3? I can probably convert just about anything for you guys if i can get the clip itself.
  18. I agree Patrick. If MLB "wins", they'll announce a suspension, just like every other time. If Braun wins, MLB will say nothing (unless they have to defend the testing or want to make a positive spin on the system or something), but Braun would almost certainly come out and make a statement. In both cases though, I'm sure the verdict will be leaked long before a statement is released by either side.
  19. Yeah, the game before Gasser was attacking and it was nice to see. Then that just goes away. The swing offense is fine, but from time to time they need to attack (especially Taylor) and they need to work the post a little more with Bergerron or even Kaminsky. It would sure be nice to see the two of them on the floor together once in awhile too. Two post guys with moves, range and size? Impossible right?
  20. I don't know that it's necessarily MLB's to announce? I mean, it's on the arbitrator right now, isn't it? I would think Braun and MLB would be first to know and I think both parties would want it over with at this point. If Braun finds out he's innocent, he's going to say something immediately I would think. I guess it's possible that MLB is waiting to announce the suspension.
  21. Not only was it on the opposite side of where most colleges have it, it was also about a million feet off the ground it seemed. The angle was really high and really far out compared to telecasts from almost every other venue. They both played poorly but got the win, and that's really all that matters I guess. Hope MU can stop with the slow starts and hope UW was simply looking ahead to OSU. They play like this on Saturday and they're likely to lose by 30.
  22. Sure, the arbitrator holds the fate, but there were other people in that room too. The MLB and Players Union guy could leak information for example.
  23. I'm surprised we haven't heard almost anything on this other than the Patrick segment last week and a few people saying it would be weeks before a decision is made. I guess I thought that some other people might have some sources or behind the scenes info that they could find or pry out of someone. Maybe it's that MLB is really putting the clamps down since this was leaked in the first place, but I thought we'd hear more by now. Maybe I'm just getting anxious as I want to know, and even though it's probably not true, to me, every day that goes by it seems more and more likely that he really could be found not guilty in this thing.
  24. Corey Patterson was always on my list of players that I hoped to NEVER see in a Brewers uniform. That was dashed in 2009 but that doesn't change my opinion of him or my desire to NOT have him in a Brewers uniform. I hope he never seens any big league time. As others have stated, that means a lot of things went south.
  25. The result was fine, the match itself and basically the whole rest of the PPV was pretty medicore, if that. I assume that they have Sheamus go after Daniel Bryan? I know Jericho has been around before, but him coming back and immediately being the #1 contender (if that happens) just bothers me. I also don't understand his "world will never be the same" and "she" returning...unless that's coming here in the next couple of weeks.
