  1. Let's make the playoffs first, then worry about the seeds. If we don't win 3 of the last 6, there is no guarantee we even make the playoffs. Not with the way the Cardinals are playing (up 2-0 in the 4th again today). I know we should be concerned with Arizona, but honestly, none of that matters if we can't put the Cardinals away first.
  2. Cardinals up 2-0 after 2 hitters. Mets continue to suck. That's for the help NY.
  3. I want the Cardinals to play one way or another today. Hopefully they lose, but either way at least we'll know and could potentially be one game closer to clinching a spot.
  4. I don't want the WC. I want to win the division. Yes, the WC is nice to make the playoffs but we had this division all but locked up. I want a division title!! Cardinals in a rain delay this afternoon.
  5. Dear Cardinals...Please do us a favor and lose a game or two so this thread can reach zero by Sunday. Thanks.
  6. It just doesn't feel like we're playing overly well right now. Yeah, we swept the Reds, but they seem to have mailed it in and they were basically putting the ball on a tee for us. We're really struggling against any capable pitcher. I know we're still in a great spot with a magic number of 3 with 6 to play, but to me it's really getting dicey. It's gone from 10.5 to possibly 4.5 tonight in the span of 2.5 weeks. We're not exactly rolling towards the postseason and it's not guarantee we'll be at home and start winning again. I want the Cardinals to lose, I just want to clinch and be done with it. I can only hope the Cubs offense scores this many runs against the Cardinals too.
  7. I think Hairston should have had that ball, should have been out of the inning without runs. Can we please hit a few wind aided HR or 2b please? The wind should help both teams, start hitting it up there Brewers. Gotta find a way to get some runs and win this game. Garza is looking pretty good out there today. Throwing hard and hitting the corners (and off the corners for strikes).
  8. I'm hoping this is all wrapped up before Saturday. I think the Mets will snag one of these next two games at least. Maybe the Cubs can put the nail in the coffin on the WC.
  9. I disagree. I don't want the Cardinals in the playoffs at all. I'm not overly worried at this point about the division unless the lead gets down to 3, but the Cardinals are a scary team to think about in the playoffs. They have been on a tear here, everything seems to be going their way (and against the Braves). Granted, that means they get Philly in round 1, but Philly isn't really playing well and the Cards have handled them this year. I really don't want to play them in the NLCS. It screams Packers/Bears (though in that case I was extremely confident the Packers were better and would prove it). Beating the Cards in the playoffs would be amazing. Losing to them would make it that much worse. Hope the Braves can hang on...Cards end with Houston and Chicago though, so I don't see too many losses coming there.
  10. Anyone else worried that the Cardinals will make the playoffs and we'll match up with them in the NLCS potentially? I want nothing to do with them, they're playing out of their minds right now. Everything seems to be falling right both for them and wrong for the Braves right now. Just screams of the Rockies from a couple of years back. Granted, Braves still have a 2.5 game lead with 8 to play, but the Cardinals seem almost seem like the favorites here. Cards also end with Chicago and Houston, so I don't see too many losses coming there.
  11. Can HHH be an effective heel any more? He was great at it for a long time, but I kinda get the vibe that no matter what he does, most fans will still cheer for him and not buy into the heel part at this point.
  12. If Nash was hurt last night, it goes to show you what we're all saying. He's just too old and too fragile to be counted on for any matches. He's just not capable of doing it.
  13. I remember last time I got them. It was awesome to open them, but then it became super depressing to see them when it seemed like we weren't going to make the playoffs and when we got eliminated. Still that feeling of opening it and seeing them all is pretty cool. Can't wait for them to get to my house!
  14. Yeah, that's true. I'm just counting on them winning 4 straight. Obviously they're playing great, but they could easily lose 2 of 3. Or we could lose some as well, but it's looking like there is a very realistic chance that we clinch in Chicago or on the off day.
  15. I've been hoping and hoping that we can clinch the NL Central title at home. I have tickets to 4 of the last 6 home games. Not looking like that will happen now, but if this could stretch to Friday somehow, I would love it. I would never, ever cheer for us to lose and if we clinch before then, awesome. But to do it at home would be amazing. To do it on Thursday, while not playing, would kinda suck.
  16. Not only did they let HHH win (and probably ends that feud), they also have Kevin Nash come in and actually attack BOTH men. So now what? Nash comes back, HHH is ticked at him and Punk is as well after he cost him the title before. You can't have the three of them in a feud, it just doesn't work, especially because Nash is old, can't talk or really wrestle any more. This makes absolutely no sense to me. All the momentum they had with Punk from a month ago is completely gone. Oh, and the Hell in a Cell PPV is in 2 weeks already. How can they possibly build this all up for that already? Stupid WWE.
  17. I couldn't handle all those happy Brett Favre picks. http://i1121.photobucket.com/albums/l511/brwrsfan/favre-went-down-hard.jpg http://i1121.photobucket.com/albums/l511/brwrsfan/brett-favre-injury-300x249.jpg http://i1121.photobucket.com/albums/l511/brwrsfan/96146949_jpg_5222_0_crop_340x234.jpg
  18. Arroyo has been terrible this year, though he does have a 2-0 record with just a few earned runs against us. Naturally. We've pounded him in the past and also got completely shut down by him. Dear Brewers and Phillies - Please make all of our lives a whole lot more fun by just winning the series. Thanks.
  19. 5 huh? 3 HR's are easy. He had a walk-off double against Washington that I remember. I want to say the other was against the Cubs? Anyone?
  20. I understand the math and all that. The Cards have played really well lately, so it's not guarantee they lose a game in every series. We'll know a lot more come Tuesday. This upcoming roadtrip for MIL is the last hurdle I think. They haven't played well in either city so far this year.
  21. I don't know why I even bother looking at the lineup these days. It's virtually impossible for Casey or Yuni to play themselves out of the lineup, despite better options. Hardly anyone has seen Millwood at all, not sure if that's good or bad. Save for Yuni, who is hitting under .200 against him in 50 at bats.
  22. So was that the type of play that wakes up the offense from this horrible funk they're in? Or was that just a nice moment and we'll be back to struggling again tonight? Our next 4 games are against Millwood, Arroyo, Volquez and Willis. Not exactly a murders row of pitchers there.
  23. Those are his 3 walk of HR's. He also had a "game winning" HR in Florida earlier this year, one in St Louis in the 9th a few years ago. Or maybe it was supposed to be 12th career walkoff hit. Even that seems like a lot though.
  24. As of today, he's played in 120 of 148 games, so he's missed some. But given the fact that he had an appendix thing, a quad injury, the weightlifting injury and now this, that's really not all that many games missed.
  25. Cardinals won 3-2, Pirates missed many scoring chances (leadoff double, man on second 1 out twice and second and third no outs....no runs in those innings). So the number can only go to 7 tonight if we win. Disappointing. I'm really hoping the Phillies can help us out this weekend. If the Cardinals go there and get 3 or 4, we may have something more serious to worry about. Come on Brewers, let's shave this to 7 tonight!!!
