Yeah, that's brutal. A Brewers tradition like no other. -
Heck of a gritty relief outing from LHP Bjorn Johnson who just continues to impress as the season advances. He escaped the two on, nobody out scene in the 6th. He K's all three to close out a 1-0 victory. Very impressive. Also, major kudos to C Edgardo Ordonez. He caught a very good game in his first action. He threw out two runners. The arm looks like it has some zip. Great debut. Muddies split the DH.

He strands 2 with a K looking. 9-6 on to the top of the 9th.

Two have crossed on McWilliams in the bottom of the eighth. 9-6 Sounds lead. He was snake bitten by a slow roller. A swinging K WP (poor location - Seigler was set out on the outer half he fired it low and inside on the swing and miss). Five pitch walk. Two run line drive single into LF.

AND Peña does his part. Leads off the bottom half with a straightaway sliding triple. Dart to dead center over the sprinting reach of the CF. AND, Bitonti rips a deep single (nice play by the RF'er to track that gapper and hold him). 1-0 Muddies! Let's go, men!

Really nice play by Luis Lameda to throw out the go-ahead runner (two down runners on the corners) at home plate. He attacked the throw from Ordonez and fired a dart right on target while sprinting forward several steps after the catch. Really sound play. Love it. Bjorn Johnson escapes traffic. Fantastic work by the battery duo in that inning. 0-0 they head to the bottom of the 6th. Johnson had men on 1st and 2nd and nobody out to start that frame.

Well, that 1-0 Shuckers lead was brief. Cornielle was greeted by a golf shot long ball over the RF wall to open his bottom half of the fifth. Dang. 1-1 game.

I'm behind just getting back in. Does he rip a dub to lead off the 5th?!? My goodness. He and Dalbec are on one tonight. These are really nice pieces of hitting too. Just smooth.

The Sounds continue to do their best ACL Brewers interpretation. Nine men have come to the dish here in the 4th. They now lead 9-2 after Eddie Rosario's poke to CF.

Dalbec is now 3-for-3. 3-run bomb over the left CF wall. 109 mph 431 feet. Yowza. Developing: EMJ has been pulled for PH Jimmy Herron here in the 4th. No bueno. He hit a really weird end of bat foul earlier. I wonder if he aggravated something.

Seigler now is 3-for-3. Another single to CF. IN a 1-2 count. 22 game on base streak extended I'd say. He quickly swipes 2B.

Typically it's 30-to-45 minutes after the end of the first game. Should be any minute.

Dalbec scorches a double down the LF line past the diving 3B. Seigler slides in under the tag of the C. The throw beat him. Realllllly good slide and the catcher couldn't corral the hop. 5-0 Sounds. Seigler and Dalbec are 2-for-2. The Sounds have 7 Hits in the 2nd inning.

A lead-off triple. How about a first pitch single poke into CF on a low curve for Seigler? Can you say scorching? No broken finger is going to stop Seigler's heater. My goodness.

Bitonti pops up sky high behind 2B. Anderson flies out to shallow RF - lunging diving catch. Nice play. Payne is called out on strikes. Homeplate ump likely blew two strike calls in that AB. He went down looking but that 3-2 pitch easily looked a good several inches off the outer black. Yeah that isn't close to a strike. Apparently, the ump wanted to head to game two. Sheesh.

Another smoked liner to right CF. Getting absolutely peppered here in the 7th. Man on 2nd. Two down. Meanwhile, Zamora hits a liner sac fly chased down in the left CF gap. 4-0. Both runners advance. Two down. Man on 3B.

Down 3-0. Full count. Hernandez sees a low heater absolutely rocked off the top of the video board. 4-0 Salem. Ouch. 111 mph off the bat. 449 feet. Yup. That left the yard.

Rosario rips a double down the RF line past the diving 1B. He scores Dalbec. Men on 2nd and 3rd. One down. 3-0 Sounds. Noice!

EMJ struck out but Alfaro singles hard to RF. 2-0 Sounds. One down. Men on 1st and 2nd. Meanwhile, a hard hit grounder eats up Bitonti when he tries to corral it and throw home. He rushed the gather there, clearly. It was right to him. Di Turi grabs the deflection and gets the 2nd out. But, it's now 3-0 Salem.

Another hard hit ball up the middle. Di Turi can't snag it and it deflects to CF. Payne over ran it due to the deflection. Run scores. 2-0 deficit. Runner is thrown out trying to take 2B. Man on 3rd. One down.

Dalbec follows ripping a hard hit single into deep right CF. Men on the corners. Nobody out. Meanwhile, Hernandez has given up consecutive singles in the top of the 7th. Men on 1st and 2nd. Nobody out. This is a 7-inning game, remember. Muddies trail 1-0.
