  1. Rough day for LHP Nate Peterson: 2/3 IP, 2 H, 3 BB, 1 K, 3 ER, 1 Balk, 1 WP, and 1 Disengagement Violation. Ouch. LHP Jesús Broca was only slightly better: 2 1/3 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 2 HR, 4 K, 2 ER, 1 E (Pick-off) No Dinges. No Adams (who has now sat two straight after being pulled early his last game after a game in which he was pulled after a HBP) Adamczewski, back in LF batting 3rd, 0-for-3, 1 RBI, 1 SF, and 1 K O'Rae, back at 2B and continuing what has been a fantastic AFL (batting 8th): 2-for-3, 2 R, 1 RBI, 1 K, 1 2B (his fourth so far) The Saguaros, improving to 11-6 overall, squeaked one out and gained a game back from Scottsdale, 8-7. They are now a mere 1/2 G back.
  2. Very fun (and, potentially surprising to those who don't know the system like we do) RHP Carlos Carra shine in Thomas Nestico's new '2026 Breakout Pitching Prospects for each Team'. Love this. His 'Honorable Mention'? RHP Manuel Rodriguez - who we all know (via late season interviews) will be working on velo for the first time this off-season. For those of you who have MiLB.TV access, you can still go back and watch his two impressive late season starts as a Mudcat (8/31 and 9/7).
  3. BTW, Surprise lost last night to first place Scottsdale (the Scorpions have really had the Saguaros number early and I do believe now possess a 3-1 head-to-head record?) in a nail biter, 5-4. They fall to 2.0 GB of first place Scottsdale and now sit with a 10-6 record. The Saguaros trailed 5-3 headed into the ninth and final frame. Our guy, and stand out AFL performer, 2B (Is this his first appearance back at his old 2B stomping grounds?) Josh Adamczewski (1-for-4, 2 R) led the mini rally off with a lead-off single. He advanced to third on an error. He scored on a GIDP. The Saguaros got aboard again via a two out walk but then flied out to RF to end the threat. No other Brewers players played.
  4. Yeah. The Dinges one is just really disappointing for the player. I have no direct intel on this but it certainly appears it is likely related to a re-aggravation of his hamstring injury or a separate leg injury. When his last AB is listed as a slow-roller to 3B that kind of just leads me in that direction. He's dealt with a couple nagging injuries in his brief tenure but, we all know, this soft tissue type of injury (whether it's continued pulls or strains of that hamstring complex) can really linger. This was a really massive AFL season to get him very valuable reps defensively. He has shown very plus signs as a backstop but he's also been wildly inconsistent with his footwork and throwing to the bases - second base, primarily the biggest issue at present. I was really looking forward to him getting those reps to bring the experiences deeper into his off-season and into spring training. Now? It almost feels like he may lose out on the rest of the AFL season. I absoluteley hope I'm wrong.
  5. - LHP Connor Thomas cleared waivers and was also sent outright to Nashville. Much like Fedde, he elected free agency.. - RHP Nick DeCarlo was released by the Carolina Mudcats (they aren't the Wilson Warbirds yet!)
  6. BUMP: Fedde has elected free agency
  7. Mad respect. Going for the cycle. Why the hyeck not!?! 😅
  8. Two out 1-2 count game tying double added to Josh's ledger. 10-10. My gods. Stepped out to gather himself. BOOM. Adamczewski Hive ENGAGE!!!
  9. This is wonderful for Cody - I/we highlighted him early in the KBO season when he was very strong out of the gates. Heck, I hope the Brewers give him a look. What a story that could be! I'll be honest, tho, the Brewers (Helena/T-Rats) alum most on my mind last night was one LHP Anthony Banda. Certainly not his bright shining moment. Certainly wish that outcome had happened via a Brewers bat.
  10. Surprise wins their 4th straight, 7-5 over Mesa, and improves to 9-4 overall. Yet, still no Dinges. And now we wait with bated breath: 1B Luke Adams was HBP in his 2nd AB. He stayed in. He played a defensive next inning. He was replaced before he batted again. Sighs. Wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery with what we certainly hope was a precautionary measure. 2B Dylan O'Rae continues a fantastic AFL campaign amidst his clear timeshare - 2-for-5, 1 K, 2 RBI, 1 2B (his 3rd overall). That was it on the offense as Adamczewski received a well-deserved night off. There are no pitchers to report on tonight.
  11. Fantastic little write up here. Do read. Goes over last season's hitting adjustments, the process and trusting it. Oh, also this lil juicy nugget: THIS is what we saw and what we knew very very early when we were hyping this young buck. The swing so pure. The quality of contact already advanced. He is putting in the work on and off the field and it is truly beginning to show up. Just love this little spotlight for Him. He has the absolute right mindset and the absolute right head on his shoulders to keep progressing. MLB player in my eyes. 💯
  12. Not a wall scraper. 417' to dead CF. 106.4 mph off the bat. It appears he also scored on the elusive two base sac fly to deep CF off the bat of one Luke Adams. Nice!
  13. Good luck finding this one through the crazy CF cam shadow blockage. You'll certainly hear it. (second HR featured below) Adams with his second long ball of his campaign is a mammoth shot over the LF wall, over the bullpen, and onto the berm. Surprise leads 6-3 in the middle innings of the second game of their double header vs Glendale. They took game 1 6-3, previously.. Adamczewski sits game 2 after an 0-for2, 2 BB, SB game 1. O'Rae is back in the line up in game 2 and is currently 1-for-1 with 1, BB, 2 SB, and 1 PO. Adams, mentioned above, is 1-for-1 with 2 R, 2 RBI, 1 BB, and 1 HR. RHP Michael Fowler is currently the only pitcher to have seen action (game 1) and he struggled with control today. Despite only throwing 8 strikes in 25 total pitches thrown, walking three, and allowing one knock...Fowler did pitch a 'clean' scoreless inning. He has yet to allow a run in the 2025 AFL. And, finally, still no Dinges. Pain.
  14. Well, keep mind, we are at that glorious part of the AFL season when a next AB walk boosted Josh's OPS to 0.823 and an ensuing Adams single (2-for-4 batting clean up) boosted his OPS from 0.807 to 0.846. 🤣
  15. En route to their third consecutive blowout loss (trailing 15-4 in Scottsdales bottom half of the 7th - yikes), we still see good signs from the young Brewers. Adamczewski was moved up to 3rd in the batting order and responded with his second dinger of his AFL campaign. OPS up to 0.800 in what will be just the second full week of ball.
  16. The Saguaros lost their second straight in lopsided fashion - 11-4 to Scottsdale. The good news, once again, no Brewers pitchers factored into the blowout. Nobody pitched. Clean up man, 1B Luke Adams was back in the line up - 1-for-3, 1 BB, 1 K. LF Josh Adamczewski was back as well in his now customary seventh spot in the line-up. 1-for-3, 1 R, 1 RBI. 1 2B. It seems with each passing game, Josh is getting more comfortable in the AFL surroundings after some early hiccups. Both Adams and Adamczewski stranded one base runner apiece batting with two outs. The Saguaros, as a team, struggled with RISP going 3-for-14. They fall to 5-3 overall.
  17. So...is Playoff Yeli the Babe Ruth of Eric Bledsoe's?
  18. Well they balanced that out with a 10-1 loss tonight. Silver Lining? Jimenez pitched a scoreless outing as the lone Brewers arm.
  19. Quite the 2.0 inning Save for RHP Michael Fowler tonight. 0 H, 0 BB, and 2 K. Would love to see the pitch data. Surprise pulls out the 12-11 victory improving to 5-1 overall. No field players or AB's for the Brewers - perhaps, the lack of Brewers bats in the line up was a tip of the cap to the Big League club's NLCS performance at the dish? Hard to say. LHP Anthony Flores also pitched and worked around a bit of wild: 1 1/3 IP of 2 H, 3 BB, 2 K, 1 HB, 1 ER work. While Fowler landed 16 strikes in 24 overall pitches, Flores landed a mere 16 strikes in 40 total pitches thrown.
  20. Hey now, despite an 0-for-4 night at the dish (1 RBI, 1 K) LF Josh Adamczewski grabbed his first OF Assist gunning down a runner at Home. Hey now! Let's Go! Surprise gets back in the win column improving to 4-1 on their season with a 6-2 victory over Mesa. 1B Luke Adams went hitless again in the clean-up spot with a run and 2 K in an 0-3 night at the dish. Shockingly, he was also hit by a pitch. 2B Dylan O'Rae was back in the line up batting 9th. He went 0-for-3 with 1 BB, 1 K, and 1 CS.. Not all that much offense coming from the Brewer bats of late at, apparently, all levels. We finally have pitchers! LHP Jesús Broca pitches a scoreless 1 2/3 innings with 1 H, 2 BB, 1 Balk, and 3 K. He picked up the Win in the process - his first of his AFL campaign (1-0). And, LHP Nate Peterson got back into action with 2.0 IP of 1 H, 1 BB, 1 ER ball. Peterson also nabbed a runner at first base with a pickoff. After being featured in Dykstra's article above, I should note, C Marco Dinges was out of the line up for the third straight game after being pulled four games ago in the sixth frame. I've talked about it more than enough of late, but it is mildly humorous (and obviously unfortunate) given Dinges' own words in the same article just posted: Welp. A man can't catch if he isn't healthy it would appear. We eagerly await his hopeful return to the line up.
  21. Surprise lost their first game last night falling to Mesa, 4-3, while falling to a 3-1 record overall. Adams had men on 2B and 3B with two down in the top of the 9th trailing 4-3. He grounded out. Once again, I believe for the third game in a row, no Brewers pitched. 1B Luke Adams had a 0-for-4, 1 BB, 2 K day once again batting clean up. LF Josh Adamczewski had an 0-for-3, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K day at the dish batting 7th.
