  1. Hey now, despite an 0-for-4 night at the dish (1 RBI, 1 K) LF Josh Adamczewski grabbed his first OF Assist gunning down a runner at Home. Hey now! Let's Go! Surprise gets back in the win column improving to 4-1 on their season with a 6-2 victory over Mesa. 1B Luke Adams went hitless again in the clean-up spot with a run and 2 K in an 0-3 night at the dish. Shockingly, he was also hit by a pitch. 2B Dylan O'Rae was back in the line up batting 9th. He went 0-for-3 with 1 BB, 1 K, and 1 CS.. Not all that much offense coming from the Brewer bats of late at, apparently, all levels. We finally have pitchers! LHP Jesús Broca pitches a scoreless 1 2/3 innings with 1 H, 2 BB, 1 Balk, and 3 K. He picked up the Win in the process - his first of his AFL campaign (1-0). And, LHP Nate Peterson got back into action with 2.0 IP of 1 H, 1 BB, 1 ER ball. Peterson also nabbed a runner at first base with a pickoff. After being featured in Dykstra's article above, I should note, C Marco Dinges was out of the line up for the third straight game after being pulled four games ago in the sixth frame. I've talked about it more than enough of late, but it is mildly humorous (and obviously unfortunate) given Dinges' own words in the same article just posted: Welp. A man can't catch if he isn't healthy it would appear. We eagerly await his hopeful return to the line up.
  2. Surprise lost their first game last night falling to Mesa, 4-3, while falling to a 3-1 record overall. Adams had men on 2B and 3B with two down in the top of the 9th trailing 4-3. He grounded out. Once again, I believe for the third game in a row, no Brewers pitched. 1B Luke Adams had a 0-for-4, 1 BB, 2 K day once again batting clean up. LF Josh Adamczewski had an 0-for-3, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K day at the dish batting 7th.
  3. It's a shame we couldn't have used the team's best bunter tonight.
  4. Well, the Saguaros (3-0) are indeed playing again after two cancellations and a postponement plus a prototypical Monday off day. AND, given that, no Dinges in tonight's line up. Does it mean anything beyond that? We don't know. Let's hope not - we know he certainly isn't the only DH or C prospect on the Surprise squad. But, I bring you back to my post from last week HERE. Specifically:
  5. Well, the early reports are the Brewers brass like what they see. They've trotted out players far less athletic than Josh in LF as a trial and error. Given the Brewers know he has one of the best bats in the system, this was a logical move. Honestly, I'm surprised it took this long to try it out.
  6. In the end, despite botching the vast majority of whatever draftpicks the Bucks have had and used, we can't say Horst didn't do everything in his powers to keep Giannis happy:
  7. He played OF when he first got in the system. They put him in LF at Arizona for a whopping 3 games. He hasn't been back since. I think they know it is a deep cut in his bag but not ideal. In other words, I certainly wouldn't rule it out, but I wouldn't put betting money on that. With Burke and Adams knocking on the Triple-A door, I think what may be more interesting here is what happens in Nashville to start the 2026 season. Is the EMJ journey as a Brewer over? Will they sign a AAAA vet or vets as a stopgap? We'll know more come November.
  8. Myles Turner appears to be ready to absolutely feast off Giannis' gravity this season. I would also casually share: the guard group of KPJ, GTJ, AJG, Cole, and Rollins might be the most slept on group in the League. It is very early obviously but, I legit really like what I'm seeing from this group. Sears continues to show his size worries were overstated. He'a looked quite fun in garbage time late-game pre season work. He has feel. Can handle. Has Range. Can penetrate. Can throw the lob. He's going to be fun in Oshkosh for those who attend Herd games.
  9. That's now three consecutive games called by weather. Friday canceled. Saturday postponed. Now, Sunday canceled due to Tropical Storm Priscilla.
  10. 56 years as an MLB organization. This is only the 4th time the Brewers have ever been to a Championship Series. My goodness. I am not built for this. 😅
  11. Jack likely drenched in Miller Lite at this point of his locker room 'work'. 😅
  12. As the absolute Chad Patrick original hype man...I was one PROUD Baseball Papa tonight. Man alive his uplevel in a bullpen role - his cajones and grit - is electric. What a player.
  13. It is 'monsoon' season in the Southwest it would appear. Yesterday's Saguaros game vs Glendale was canceled. Today's game vs Salt River is postponed.
  14. Yeah, given the very obvious injured way he left his SLDS post-season start this was always a concern or possibility. Sigh. And in typical fashion, it wasn't even hinted at in the discourse leading up the AFL season by the journos or people getting paid to cover the Brewers. I really really do not look forward to that random and sudden drop of transactional data in mid winter telling us he is going to miss the 2026 season. Really do not want to see that!
  15. Saguaros moved to 3-0 with another dub, 7-2 over the Javelinas. It does appear DH Marco Dinges (0-for-4, 2 K) was removed for an 8th inning pinch hitter. This after he grounded out weakly to 3B in the 6th. Let's hope it's nothing but given his mid season multi-week absence due to that hammy...I'm a wee jumpy. LF Josh Adamczewski led off and went 1-for-4 with 1 BB, 1 K, and 1 2B - that's consecutive games with XBH's if we include last night's grand salami. 1B Luke Adams is settling in quite nicely to a nightly clean-up role: 1-for-3, 1 R, 1 BB, 2 SB, and 1 K. He did commit his first fielding error After hitting last night's two out 2-RBI oppo walk-off single, 2B Dylan O'Rae was awarded nine-hole duties. He responded with a 1-for-4, 1 RBI, 1 2B, and 1K effort. For the second consecutive game, no Brewers pitchers were afforded the opportunity to toss the white rat.
  16. It certainly wasn't looking good heading into the late innings with Surprise trailing 8-1. BUT... Box Score/Game Log A Grand Salami from Adamczewski pulled Surprise within 2 in the 8th. Massive knock. That pulled the Saguaros to an 8-6 deficit. A Luke Adams two-run jack in the 9th tied it at 8-8. Then Dylan O'Rae (!!) walked it off in the bottom of the 10th with a two-out, two-run single. What a win. 11-10. Yowza. The Crew lads were all up in this comeback. Not a single Brewer pitched . (There are highlight clips in that Game Wrap linked above including Adams' majestic game-tying blast)
  17. Adamczewski has now struck out in four consecutive AB's to start his AFL campaign. Very uncharacteristic beginning for the young man. Let's hope he can start finding success.
  18. Love that for Javik. Who knew when we lost Garret Greene we were getting a rising Star? Javik has been a real bedrock of positivity for the shuckers amidst some extremely streaky up-and-down seasons. He clearly loves connecting with the players and coaches and his genuine authentic passion for what he does shines through in every broadcast. He absolutely puts the work in on the daily. I always appreciate he includes the Hawkeye/Statcast data on notable hits/pitches. I think when the voters looked over their candidates and saw Javik they knew: "This award is wayyy gone!"😉
  19. Box Score / Game Log: Surprise surprised us with a Game 1 9-6 victory. Adams went 1-for-3 batting clean up with 1 2B, 2 R, 1 RBI, and 2 BB while playing some savvy D at first base it would appear: Batting sixth, C Marco Dinges put forth a solid 2-for-4 with 1 R, 1 RBI, and a 107 mph double we see here via Prospects Worldwide (link embedding not allowed for this post). Adamczewski appears to have subbed on as a PH in the middle innings. In two AB's he struck out on foul tips. On the pitching aide of the ledger we see clean 1 K innings from both Fowler and Flores. In RHP Edwin Jimenez's first live action since his 2024 season-ending injury, he allowed 1 ER on 2 H including a solo HR surrendered. Surprise plays again tonight, Wednesday 10/8, vs Glendale.
  20. Welp, went back post-Brewsers Game 2 win and speed watched portions of the Bucks first pre-season game. Ultimately, we all know pre-season games in any sport are meaningless. Unless, of course, it validates a prior: Kyle Kuzma absolutely still stinks at NBA basketball. Good grief he is truly a terrible NBA basketball player in any context.
