RHP Dikember Sanchez is very clearly showcasing why he may be the cream of the crop of the ACL Brewers call-ups. He's absolutely ascending quickly in Low-A Carolina. He comes aboard with two on and nobody down. Gets the fly out to LF. Then gets two K's. Just fantastic shutdown stuff. He's been really good early in his Carolina tenure. -
EBJ with the oppo single knock to go ahead? Yes Sir! Here for it. Let's go. That's a two-run RBI there. 3-1 Shuckers.

Wilken ties it with a bloop single to shallow CF. Gotta love it. Hey, we'll take anything at this juncture! 1-1 game. Men on 2nd and 3rd. Two down. Darrien Miller to the dish. Lefty-vs-Lefty match-up.

That's now two conecutive four-pitch walks for Nova to start his seventh frame. Man, he has had an ugly outing. Let's hope he can escape in the very least. Bullpen activity beginning. Sanchez is up.

Nova opens his seventh with a four pitch walk. He's been allllll over the place tonight. Two HB. Two walks. A WP. Ugly outing. BUT, he's so far gone forth undamaged.

Here is where that throw ends up. An easy six feet before the bag. The runner isn't even, what, 10 feet from the bag? It's just so abusrd. This ends with a runner reaching by entirely unnecessary error. The ball high-hopped Hall here. You see it here about to hit dirt. It is my biggest complaint on his very young and exciting game. Get rid of this. Just throw it out the window. It's one thing when it's a bang-bang play down the line. I get that entirely. BUT, it's an entirely different thing when it's happening within very fundamental baseball plays. This won't work as he moves up the affiliate levels. It will put him in a dog house.

BUT, here's where he gets to by choice. AND, he does this very throw entirely too much. The vast majority of his errors come from this ridiculous motion. What the heck are we doing here Luke? Step IN to your throw with your lead power leg. THIS? This is just entirely unnecessary:

As a quick but direct aside... THIS is the stuff Luke Adams has to clean up as he moves up the system. His over-reliance on his innate raw athleticism as opposed to good fundamentals and better defensive baseball. Here's a look for you. Hard hit grounder to 3B. He's shadowed to the 3B line. SO, he's there and gathers the ball with plenty of time to make this play. Here's the gather:

Walling ripped a single, btw. That ball was hit hard but the RF'er was shodowed toward the corner. Rocked an off-speed pitch after ripping one foul of the 1B line. He is absolutely heating up, however. That's the main thing here.

Mehring thinks that Adams shot was at least 105. Hard to disagree. I wouldn't be surprised whatsoever if that ball was 110. Just rocked. First T-Rat since Wes Clarke back in 2022 to hit two grand salamis in a single season. Good company!

And, he does indeed escape the frame with a K looking. Fantastic. Sigh of relief. 4-4 game still and we head to the bottom half.

Nova pretty much a trainwreck here in the top of the sixth. Yet, he can still escape unharmed. WP, HB, walk...Ugly stuff but, as I said, he can still escape with no damage.

THIS. 100%. He is essentially only able to throw the change-up and the fastball just doesn't have it. I am watching the fifth frame and it's obvious (Farm chores). Not sharp. AND, zero runs but he also saw a bang-bang call go in the Shuckers favor at the plate.

Henderson's change-up is just a ridiculous pitch for a starting pitcher. My goodness.

Falling behind 3-0, Rodriguez gets a swing and a foul back to the netting. 3-1 count. He gets the weakly hit dribbler before the mound. He turns and casually fires to 1B. Henderson just hung a hittable heater inside of the dish for an RBI poke to LF. It's 1-0 Braves. One down. Bottom of the 4th in Mississippi.

Brailin running into two out trouble here in the 5th frame. Walked a guy after ahead 1-2 in the count. Just saw a single ripped into shallow LF. Men on 1st and 2nd. Two down. He'll have to dig deep. Bullpen is active with Nova beginning to throw. He's 2-0 on the next batter.

Henderson just saw an inside high heater oppo lined for a lead-off dub to open his 4th frame. Still 0-0. Meanwhile, in Wisco we are still 1-0 T-Rats. Bottom of the 2nd frame.

100% agree. Way too much easy contact. The velo is up but that heater is extremely hittable. It doesn't move. Very easily sat on. My opinion is: he needs to keep working and keep improving the shape of every pitch. It's that classic 'rostered' game. Patrick should absolutely be in his stead taking those MLB innings. He's earned it. He's pitching his best baseball. BUT, the game of the 40-Man dictates this. As does the silliness of the sentiment of "...well, we traded RHP Corbin Burnes...and that package mandates he has to pitch." Some of it is understandable. But, in a vacuum and with objectivity it doesn't make sense.

Brailin just gave up a no-doubter hanging breaking ball bomb over the LF wall. His first long ball of the year. Pollard had been really laboring at the dish. Can't throw that pitch. Gotta try to get him to chase. Poor execution. 4-4 game. Nobody down.

Meanwhile, Fitzy just grabbed a K swinging to open the 2nd frame. Heater. Batter behind. Di Turi, in his last two AB, has hit into outs on two pitches. Might want to see some pitches next AB.

Yoshwar ties it on a groundball single up the middle past the diving SS - 109 mph grounder. Yowza. Yes Sir! It's a 3-3 game. His 29th RBI. Men on the corners. Two down. Briceno will see if he can get his bat a swinging with impact.
