  1. The Mudcats have nothing to show for it but they've hit several hard balls. Walling lines out at 101 mph directly to the SS. Two down in the 3rd for the Muddies. Briceno finally gets a hit to fall on another liner. The leaping 2B couldn't snag it tho he knocked it down. Meanwhile, Tayden Hall just hit a two out oppo double down the LF line. It tailed and looped into the shallow LF grass and to the line. He beat the throw by a matter of inches on the tag.
  2. Kuehner works around the threat and gets a K looking to end the first frame. Both starters at 20 pitches already. 0-0 game and we are on to the 2nd.
  3. AND Corniel gets the swinging K for his 4th K already through 3 for the second out. AND, in an 0-2 count he narrowly misses a high corner K. BUT, he gets his 5th K swinging on another slider. Corniel is CAPITAL SHARP. 31 pitches through 3 complete.
  4. AND, the runner takes 2B when O'Rae can't hold on to the throw from home plate. Rodriguez got the ball in line with the slide but it was low and the tag saw the ball roll out with the slide's momentum. Groundout to SS keeps the runner at 2B and they have one down. Meanwhile, Corniel will look to overcome his 3rd frame with aplomb. Let's hope he has it today. Fly out to Walling in RF to start the frame.
  5. Tate Kuehner offers a nod to Harold Chirino and Ryan Middendorf from the Sounds win earlier and walks his lead-off batter on four pitches.
  6. Guilarte really struggling to find holes of late. He grounds out fairly hard to 2B. He's hitting 0.167 over his past 10 games. Stanley has him in clean-up to try and wake the hits up from their slumber.
  7. We've seen this type of start for Corniel of late. We need to see what the third inning brings. That' been his kryptonite of late. All three T-Rats take their counts full. Nobody saw a base. BUT, good work elevating the count some early. Three hard hit outs.
  8. Another K to open the 2nd frame on a slider that dipped heavy and outside the zone. He gets the swing and the whiff in the 2-2 count. Corniel's 2nd K. AND, three pitches and another K for Corniel. A high heater above the zone and he gets the chase. Meanwhile, Luke Adams is getting talked up in the West Michigan broadcast for his zaniness. They love him. Hard to disagree. AND, Reece Walling show off why he can be such a defensive weapon. He clean stride long sprints toward the RF wall and makes a fully stretched snagging out no other OF'er could have grabbed. Just check this reach and wingspan grab out! Epic way to end the 2nd.
  9. Lara lines out to LF in a full count to lead off game 2 @ West Michigan.
  10. Pratt CS on a head first slide. Looked like the throw beat him. On to the 2nd frame.
  11. We return to a feed with Pratt on 1st base somehow and two down. Yophery clearly out somehow. The grind is real.
  12. After a pre game and top half inning of poltergeist craziness, we now have a standard feed for the Mucats first AB's AND it is blacking out to silence in the midst of it. CLEARLY, the Shuckers have their tech team in Zebulon tonight. This season. I swear. More technological issues in the feeds than any I can recall. It's a tough grind for viewers too! LOL.
  13. Three up. Three down for Corniel. He K's the last batter in a full count with a gorgeous change-up that tailed in and just below the belt. Fly out to LF and a ground out to 2B. A 12 pitch frame.
  14. This current Mudcats feed is a digital poltergeist. Yikes.
  15. Personally, I'd just send cash for a load of Coors Banquet for a possible post-season celebration. Hedge your bets. Back-up brewskis. I'd stop the negotiating right there.
  16. AND, despite not being able to locate the heater precisely on more than one occasion, Middy still gets the K swinging on an inside high heater (touched 97 mph on consecutive pitches). That's a 4-2 Sounds 'W'. Middy's 2nd Save of 2024. Mejía was asking for high outside heat on consecutive pitches. He got high and inside. No matter. Hit the showers, boys!
  17. 0-2 count. Mejía sets the glove high above the zone. Middy gets away with a mistake down the center. Nice execution on the next pitch - a slider on the outer half that tails just outside of the zone. He induces a reach oppo pop fly out to mid RF for Young. Young attempts to bluff the runners. It did not work. Two down. Men on 2nd and 3rd.
  18. A perfect bunt single down the 3B line. We have two men on now. One down. That was a perfect bunt.
  19. Ahhhhhh ,yes, like Chirino before him, Middy walks his first batter on four straight balls. Yuck. Let's go, Middy. Let's get after it!
  20. AND, Middy's first pitch flies inside and to the backstop. Oh baby!😅
  21. Lucky for me (and @wiguy94) RHP Ryan Middendorf will come on for the Save Opp. Middy was absolutely lights out his last outing. Are we back in the Era of 'The Rise of Middy'?!? I sincerely hope so. He has stuff for days. I am praying his 'figure out Triple-A' stretch over the past year is long gone and we are watching an MLB riser.
  22. Capra leaves two aboard with another well hit ball - this time a grounder directly to the SS. We are on to the bottom of the 9th frame. 4-2 Sounds.
  23. Remember the 2023 May and June offensive bursts from INF Patrick Dorrian? I do. What a time. That slump of 27 K in 54 AB's in September seems to have broken his baseball Spirit and it gives me all sorts of sad face. He's just wayyyyy too talented to be mired in this season-long slump. It hurts me to see it!
