  1. Nobody in the Southern League is good enough to lose to six straight times at home. Biloxi's first half just continues to go the further South. There just really aren't many storylines whatsoever coming out of that clubhouse. They are now 9 games under 0.500. I blame the camera situation - which adds further reasons why you struggle to rationalize watching.
  2. T-Rats getting smoked 13-1 prevented them from retaking first place. Cedar Rapids lost to Peoria 6-2. The Rattlers will remain 1/2 GB the Kernels.
  3. Lynchburg escaped a bases loaded no out jam in the 10th. They now lead 10-5 headed to the bottom of the 12th as they look to take another from the first place Fred Nats. IF this holds, after the Muddies took it 4-3, the Nats and Muddies will be tied for 1st place.
  4. The Mudcats left the bases dripping and couldn't add an insurance run. They hold to a 4-3 lead as they try and close it out in the 9th frame. ** Special shoutout to RHP Aidan Maldonado who has really turned around his season struggles of late. He completes his third consecutive scoreless relief outing and has seen his ERA dip below 5.00. You love to see it. Keep grinding, Aidan!
  5. Given Ayrault is managing the Shuckers, I have had that thought on numerous occasions. Maybe, oddly, Ayrault is a second half manager? LOL. I need something to hold on to. Anything.
  6. Takes a look at the scoreboard... (Pauses)
  7. You are being very kind in your assessment. This first half is what we would lovingly call a 'Dud'.
  8. Let's get nutty: With Nashville taking the first 4 vs Charlotte series, moving to 3 games over 0.500, they now trail International League leading Omaha by a mere 6.5 G.
  9. If there is a way to lose in 2024, these Shuckers will find it. I blame the ongoing camera issues. The season was snakebitten from the first Home game.
  10. Zamora simply showcasing the only remedy to being a Shucker is to get promoted the heck out of there. That team is, ummm, yeah.
  11. How about the Sounds coming back to win 4-3? Gotta love it!
  12. Mudcats now lead 11-2 while the Fred Nats trail 6-0. Let's GO! As a point of following the Mudcats quest for a second consecutive Playoff berth: Upcoming series vs last place Delmarva, then @ Charleston ( tied with this Myrtle Beach team at 5 games under .500), then a HUGE Home series vs the Fred Nats before finishing the first half @ Columbia with the 2 Makeup games in an 8-game series.
  13. Even more important given the Fred Nats trail 4-0 in the 3rd. Gotta take this one and hope that score holds so we can get our deficit back to a 1.0 GB.
  14. That's a really strange way of spelling 'Mitch White'!
  15. Big congrats are due for RHP Enoli Paredes: Let's hope he runs with this opportunity and help solidify that greater Brewers bullpen depth. We all know another Sounds OF'er is quite deserving of a 40-Man opportunity as well. Let's hope our favorite 'Brewer' gets his chance to shine as well!
  16. - The Brewers have selected the contract of RHP Enoli Paredes from the Nashville Sounds (I do believe this would indicate a corresponding roster move would need to be made)
  17. - RHP Logan Henderson was officially activated off the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 7-Day IL. He had been rehabbing with the ACL Brewers. AND it appears Jim and I published this at literally the exact same moment. In. Synch.
  18. Well, when you are batting 0.383 and walking twice as much as you whiff that apparently is what happens. Even with only 48 AB's, it's extremely fun to watch his ascent (even if mainly in Game Logs at present). He's like a four years younger Boeve...which speaks to his already extremely advanced plate approach. At just 18, it's hard not to be excited.
  19. I have had this very same take since about 3 months into the ABS and Challenge system implemented in the International League last season (Jeff speaks to it here). Everything he says and then some. ABS is rigid; takes away framing as an art; is inconsistent ballpark-to-ballpark where each park has its own system - ie the zones are not uniform they are contextual to the the set up in the ballpark. The Challenge system is a complete no-brainer...which, in professional sports, typically means the powers that be will make the wrong choice. Goodness me oh my, please MLB show some competence: Challenge system 24-7 365.
  20. Here's our first 2024 look at Bitonti's smooth as silk swing. My goodness. That swing path and fluidity? Lotttttta gorgeous sounds of that lumber.
