  1. 2-2 top of 5th (Areinamo RBI dub in the bottom of the 4th). Henderson has a man on 3rd w 2 down.
  2. Let's start the Brewers post-season runS with an ACL Crew trophy! An incredible way to welcome all that youth into their deeper Brewers journeys.
  3. Root gets his 3rd K of the inning stranding men on the corners. ACL Crew win 2-1 in Game One.
  4. After an incredible amount of work over months and months. the Mudcats bullpen is suddenly fragile as an eggshell. 11 runs allowed over the final 3 IP. Wehrle allowed 7 H over 2 IP and Jeison Pena regressed again. Sigh. They are making their playoff push very very hard and are suddenly in jeopardy of another late season collapse. Gotta find that resolve to end the drought.
  5. ACL Crew in a 3-Game Championship series?! EPIC!
  6. That Sounds victory, needless to say, was huge. Taking care of business early in this Stripers series has seen them gain two huge games on the entire League Lead for the 2nd half. 2.0 GB of a possible Playoff birth in this final push to close the season
  7. Mudcats hold on to win 2-1! Lynchburg leads 4-3 in the bottom of the 8th at home versus Delmarva so this victory is large in maintaining a 2.0 G lead in 1st place. 28 games remain in the second half. Lottttttta ballgame left. And none of these games are head-to-head with second place Lynchburg or third place Fredericksburg.
  8. Tunes in. Tayden Hall dub. Jace Avina 2-1 count. Blue ball. Runs on the play. Back-to-back dubs. Mudcats reclaim the lead. 2-1. One down. Bottom of the 8th. 🥰
  9. Around the All Star Break I did some random "What are these players up to?" mini-dives. I thought De La Cruz was with Gastonia in the Atlantic League. It turns out, he made the Frontier League All Star Game: (From HERE) RHP Trevor Tietz was a late addition to the All Star roster. Ol Shuckers RHP Robbie Hitt and 2B Gabe Holt made the original All Star rosters. Regardless, whereas Hasler and Garabitos (two of my faves) are still in 'Released' status realm in their respective lives (which obviously could be and is likely their personal choices given their immense talents), it was really nice to see some 2022 Brewers prospects still working hard on their crafts.
  10. Before the Smith and Shears call-ups, in the midst of the T-Rats ongoing first half woes, Jordan was manager Joe Ayrault's high-leverage guy. He was mostly very effective in this role. I'm as surprised as you are. Doesn't make all that much sense.
  11. Thankful to end my day checking in here moments after moving the 'Road Closed' Evac Level 3 sign a mile up the road. A Mudcats 'W' to end the quick read? Chef's Kiss.
  12. Thanks, Jim! Much appreciated long relief. Power outages during a report? I wouldn't know anything about that 🫠 The Mudcats suddenly unraveling pitching staff is an unexpected source of baseball sadness. Sigh. The reality is, however, if they don't blow two games in Kannapolis late they are still leading by 4.0 G. They just need to get back on track and ready the ship. I pair the Je'Von Ward release on par with my personal surprises in LHP's Leoni de La Cruz and Pablo Garabitos for 2023. I wish them all the best and will miss their spirited and oft-impactful play.
  13. Thanks for the write-up - a fun read before a long day. This would be an unexpected and welcomed boon to the ongoing chair shuffling. I'm still in 'we shall see' mode but success on the mound is a beautiful thing no matter how brief. Perhaps the low hanging fruit here, regardless of how this trends in the late season, is Megill now has a foundation to lean on and tape to glean from.
  14. I will politely offer: the best defense I've seen Abraham Toro play is at 1B. Was surprisingly decent. And having seen him play 3B, I will realistically state: given the healthy candidates at 1B playing for the Brewers (and Winker now also rehabbing there) he's an important member of the Sounds playoff push.
  15. The Sounds (24-20) still have a chance. With the 'W' they are 4.0 GB Lehigh Valley for the second half crown. Needless to say, we have two huge road series coming up @ Gwinnett and @ Durham (who are 3.5 G ahead of the Sounds and always give them trouble). Gotta make hay at the Stripers.
  16. That was a big win for Biloxi as they push their 2nd half lead to a mighty 2.0 G over the Rays' Montgomery Biscuits.
  17. Boy, 2023 RHP Jason Alexander makes me reallllly miss 2022 RHP Josh Linblom.
  18. I can not even fathom the soiling of his legacy. Dorrian is my guy sink or swim. I'm going with a faulty pair of contact lenses 🤭
  19. Two bullpen meltdowns at Kannapolis losing two leads late and the first place Mudcats lead is suddenly precariously 2.0 G. I'm fine. No, really, I'm fine.
  20. Let's GO!!!! What a fantastic bounceback. I am excite.
  21. I will polite-fully and respectfully challenge the '...not as able to make the highlight-reel play as his teammate Zamora'. Zamora is a smoother moving human. But, Murray makes web gems in almost every series. Like Zamora, he is prone to befuddling lapses with his glove, unfortunately, but given Murray's serious proclivity for making absurd plays on the regular, I take them in stride. He can also play a solid 3B which is a big plus. Whereas, Zamora is essentially a SS and 2B for now.
