  1. The ACL Crew lead 2-1 late. They head to the 9th looking to close this down. Intriguing pitching debuts tonight and a bounce back scoreless outing for RHP Ryne Moore after relieving rehabbing RHP Joseph Hernandez.
  2. 2B Mike Boeve is 0-for-3 with a K? I think he should stay in the ACL.
  3. I was completely unaware I was coming back to this one to watch the Shuckers bullpen in the 10th. Pretty amazing rabbit out of a hat trick by the Brewers here.
  4. Blue Font, Sir. Meta-Blue Font. I failed you. Rectified. The color of Lake Michigan, actually.
  5. Now, you see, here's a man with an idea. And, sometimes, all it takes is an idea! I like the cut of your jib, Daniel. I salute you.
  6. Why are you even swinging there? Amazing.
  7. A fantastic choice! A choice of a true gentleman. I salute you, fine Sir.
  8. Just so we're on the Level: Every one of those pitches for the first run-scoring walk via Chafin would be recorded as strikes via ABS. Every single one touched the border of the strikezone.
  9. Shears gets the groundout. T-Rats win 6-4. Let's go!
  10. Wood more than redeems himself by nabbing the lead runner who inexplicably went on a 2-2 pitch. He is caught stealing. AND, Shears then walks the batter. You just can't be going there. Your team is down 6-4. Runner back on first. Two down. 6-4 T-Rats.
  11. C Matt Wood continues to have serious trouble catching RHP Tanner Shears. He lost two strikes in the last inning and those balls went flying off his mitt. He fails to corral a strikeout pitch on a wicked slider down and in to a lefty. Wood was expecting center cut. But, instead of sliding to back the pitch he tried to one-hop grab it back-handed and the ball went to the back stop. Recorded a WP. I personally don't like how his catcher has repeatedly hung his pitches out to dry. Wood needs to do better. I get a pitch here and there.
  12. Well, the home plate umpire clearly robbed RHP Tanner Shears of two strikeout pitches on the outer stripe. Beautiful pitches. And, C Matthew Wood clearly can't catch Tanner Shears (yikes - I mean, I kind of get it, Shears raw stuff is filthy). Regardless, Shears gets the swinging miss on a 3-2 inside heater. I have seen so much weird baseball tonight my head is spinning. ABS strike zones clearly mal-adjusted. Errors galore. Relievers giving up long ball after long ball. Umps blowing things. Walking the Minor League beat can take a toll some evenings. 😅
  13. HUGE performance by Vieira there. Fighting a stupid strike zone via the Indianapolis ABS. Fighting more poor defense during key spots. He digs deep. And he gets the K to end the game. Sounds win 9-8.
  14. Dorrian botched another transfer. That was a game-ending DP. Dorrian has botched two transfers tonight during dp's. That was a clear game-ending play Dorrian couldn't make. My goodness. Like I said earlier, if they blow this game it is all on defense post-sixth inning. Ugh. 9-8. Two down.
  15. Just got a key K. One down. Much better position to be in. That's all I got. 😅
  16. I have serious questions about the ABS system at Indianapolis. The zone is absurdly tight. And, I mean, absurdly restricted. It's important to remember these ABS systems are unique to each ballpark. I am not a fan of what's going on in Indianapolis. I've seen two dead center strikes called balls confidently. They have completely eliminated the upper half of the strikezone.
  17. An ABS rob of a glorious slider center cut (seriously, I have absolutely zero idea how that wasn't a strike) sees the bases juiced now with nobody down for Vieira who continues to struggle finding the zone. He is leaning absurdly slider heavy and it might be because he just can't locate the heat.
  18. Vieira in trouble here in the 9th. He walked his first batter...who stole 2B. He then gave up a hard hit liner to CF. Men on the corners. Nobody out. 9-7 Sounds.
  19. RHP Sam Gardner just gave up a solo shot facing his first batter in his first inning of bullpen work here in the 7th. 6-4 T-Rats. Brewers relievers are giving up lotttttta long balls today. I see you, Mr. Peguero.
  20. The Mudcats 'March to the Post-Season' continues! 6-1 victory. Woot woot!
  21. And SS Robert Moore saves his pitcher with a beautiful full diving snare up the middle. Rises to his knees and throws accurately to 1B for the final out. That was easily the best play I've seen Moore make at SS since oft-filling in for the injured Eric Brown Jr. Meanwhile, in Biloxi...I mean. Yeeesh. Wes Clarke has stayed red hot. That's nice.
  22. The seven game T-Rats errorless streak ends when Jose Acosta is eaten up by what should have been an inning-ending bounceout to 2B. Instead, it keeps the Dragons 6th alive. Two down. Man on first Merkel now w 4 K in 1 2/3 IP. But, the three run jack is blemishing his relief outing. He'll try to escape this error-induced jam.
  23. RHP Nick Merkel fell behind 2-0 to his third batter and he then gave up a 2-1 three run jack to dead CF. That ball hung up there forever and somehow made it over the wall. T-Rats now lead 6-3 as the Dragons chip away. Nobody out for Merkel in his second inning of relief.
  24. Dorrian botches a routine hard hit chopper (the second bounce really jumped up on him though) during the transfer going for the dp.The ball moved beyond his expectations. He was charged with an error regardless. Man, if the Sounds blow this they have nothing to blame but their failed defense from the 6th onward. They were fantastic early. Two on, now, nobody out. Should have at least had the lead runner there. Ugh.
  25. THANK the BASEBALL GODS for Patrick Dorrian. He adds an insurance run solo blast well over the RF wall. His second jack of his evening. That ball was absolutely hammered. 9-7 Sounds. A huge insurance run here in the 7th inning!
