  1. RHP Anthony Perez is probably plunking batters because he has so much movement on his stuff. I would imagine he's struggling to find consistency with his two-seamer and this nasty (what appears to be) whip slider:

  3. I think the Brewers realize (well, I hope they do), Small needs an off-season in the Lab and not in competitive games. He pitched in the Dominican Winter League and then went right into ST and this season. I personally think he needs rest, analysis, study, and skill work. His current 'problem', from my eyes, is he's not comfortable with his 3rd and 4th pitches. He mentioned a new grip on a slider back in January - where is it? We only see his breaking ball but a few times each start. I trust they'll work these pitches hard in the off-season and I imagine they'll start really getting those pitches into game-scenarios in 2023. And, it may be a bumpy road. But, it's something he truly needs to start doing. The fastball and change-up will always be there. But, they've reached their peak of impact.

  5. I echo your sentiments on RHP Dylan File. Whereas it sadly seems like LHP Ethan Small is regressing (keeping in mind here, he's pitched a lot of baseball - if we recall he played through the winter in the Dominican League) and needs to regroup, File has simply gotten better as the season has progressed. I love the way he attacks the mound - of all the Sounds starters, I would challenge anyone to find a more dialed approach within the confines of a pitch clock. He's fast. He's a student of the game. I am rooting for his continued growth.

  7. It's always a wonderful day when I can watch RHP Stiven Cruz's leg-kick. There's a little bit of Elvis Presley in this get-off:

  9. Be still my fan-boy heart! We get our first Two-Way HOF video clip of one Quinton Low ?: What an athlete. I don't know how he does it...but, I don't care. The pom-poms are in full flex.
  10. INF Dylan O'Rae is sneakily coming on in the ACL. This is quite an exciting development for such a young, relatively unknown (stateside), draft pick in 2022. After a 3-for-4 evening last night, with a free pass in there to boot, he's 1-for-2 with 2 2-out RBI and another BB against his brethren on the ACL Brewers Blue - once again in the lead-off spot. You, quite frankly, love to see this! Let's go, young man! As always, we need to keep in mind the small sample sizes for these new draftees. In just two-games' time, he's raised his BA to 0.333 and his OPS to 0.785. I'm staying excited. The early returns from Moore, Brown Jr., and O'Rae are very appealing to my eyes.
  11. It's time for me to bring back our recent highlight reel for young Daniel Corniel:
  12. The DSL young men can't seem to get things going in the right direction. Bummer. It would be nice if we didn't see them lose them all or win them all. That certainly seems the pattern. A rough way to start the Saturday morning coffee ritual!
  13. I don't think this is actually what is happening - ie people labeling you a 'hater'. But, imho, this response and explanation is a much more reasoned approach. My meaningless two cents, obviously. I think it was very fair to criticize Love last week where he fell short: accuracy on some routine throws and forcing the ball in questionable scenarios. After I went back and reviewed the game through peoples' eyes far more qualified than mine, this was the universal opinion of where he struggled. I think it was also fair to point out: his teammates also let him down in very key spots. To that end, it felt like the game was a frustrating wash. Plenty for him to improve upon. But, a pretty darn good improvement from what we had seen - and, in a place that is notoriously extremely hard for any Packers QB to play. The comfort in the pocket and the decision-making had been my biggest question marks coming into this season. In week 1, he seemed to be playing faster etc. I came away quite positive there. Then, we take last night, where it is widespread a universal opinion from the beat reporters he had his best performance and game as a Packer and his numbers definitely should have been more reflective if not for...more drops. Then, we start to actually see him stacking success. And, I think that anyone who watches football knows: we're not even remotely out of the woods yet. BUT, the improvement is observable as we watch. This 'should' be exciting for Packers fans - imho. We 'should' want him to be improving and building a case. My take was, the hand-off comments et al did more to negate your case about last week. It made you come across a bit petulant and defiant. What I think I'm hearing, however, is you felt you were unfairly targeted? If that's the case, from my own vantage point I tried to apologize for my original comments during the game last week. I probably came across like I was waving a finger or biased. Anyhow, I don't see you as a 'hater'. But, I do currently do see you as someone who might be looking for him to fail?
  14. Yup, those were two extremely impressive plays. The plays from a street FA signing - especially given Scott's untimely and unfortunate injury - that suddenly get you a serious look. Quite pleasantly surprising.
  15. This one, in particular, gave me all sorts of "How in the...?" To be young and able to move! LOL. I am definitely Chris Slayton in this clip (#60)
  16. If I recall correctly, he started and has still been on the NFI IL. So, injured still I believe. Agreed on Jones, however. He looks to be in the best shape since I first saw his mammoth body in an NCAA game.
  17. What a game for Kahle. That's awesome!
  18. I don't know. It's hard to say. Some guys literally can't play under the lights. It's a real thing. I really feel for the guy - that has to be a devastating experience.
  19. You're really going to die on this hill? Interesting choice of sarcasm genres. Truly. You be you.
  20. I can honestly say: I don't know if I've ever seen him not make a mistake while a Packer. Going back to the failed fingertip touchdown grab in Detroit last year (in a meaningless game). He drops balls, apparently he fumbles, and he draws penalties. I would have to agree with you here.
  21. Ahhhhh yes. That's 2022 Biloxi Bullpen vintage right there. So many options to blow a lead. Ugh. Regardless, Gasser remains very seriously: 'the real deal'.
  22. This was a nice half of Minor Le...I mean Pre-Season football. Good stuff. Hopefully that Vernon Scott injury isn't too serious - his arm looked pretty mangled there.
  23. I've actually quite liked what I've seen in Ahmed since he replaced 'the other guy'. He's got a leg and so far, albeit in limited kicks obviously, he's been dead accurate. Nice to see.
  24. I'm scared to watch us kick off. There I said it. LOL.
  25. You have to love on the heels of that drive and FG, the ST's unit proceeds to give up a 59 yard return. The more things change...
