  1. There is Carlos F. Rodriguez and then there is every other pitcher on the Mudcats staff. He is absolutely crushing it in Low-A right now. It's going to be real nice to see how he fares as he moves up Levels. He is ready.
  2. Well, it certainly appears Jackson Chourio's power-stroke is picking up as he familiarizes himself with Low-A pitching. That was 3 HR's in that Lynchburg series. What. A. Stud.
  3. Check out Daniel's fine work and compilation efforts in Sunday's report - it gives a detailed list of all the DSL promotions there. These young men would be worth tracking. But, I would be remiss if I didn't say: All our prospects are worth supporting and monitoring. And, there's my 'I'm a Dad' moment for you? Daniels report: HERE - Go to Bottom of Report for DSL to ACL promotional listings
  4. Thanks for the Summary, Daniel. I had a busy Sunday and this helps settle my Minor League 'fix'. Good stuff!
  5. The DSL Brewers 2 squad managed to plate 5 runs in the bottom-half of the fifth to knot the score at 5 apiece. It's 5-5 headed to the bottom of the 6th now. 2 rbi's apiece for 3B Juan Baez and 1B Yeison Perez. (Baez is 16 yo, btw. Wowsers)
  6. Kevin Briceno and Jesael Cabrera each complete four full innings of near identical results: 4 hits and one run apiece. 6 k's and 4 k's, respectively. The bats only muster three knocks and the DSL Brewers 1 fall to the tune of 2-0.
  7. Biloxi ‘Awwww’ Shuckers have now migrated into nightly pitching melt down territory. Such a weird season down there. When it’s not one thing, it’s another.
  8. Pitcher of the Month, indeed. He’s been stellar.
  9. Boy, Brice Turang makes the difficult look extremely routine. Another tough ground out scooped up non-chalantly and easily with a dart to first nailing the uber-talented 22 yo Xavier Edwards.
  10. I'll climb aboard this 'Train of Reason'. As a closet-obsessive of the Brewers Minor League system for years - riding the fine work of Jim over that time and doing my own dilly-dally therein - it's hard not to be extremely extremely excited about the current state of the lower levels as well as the possible future growth given the recent hyper-activity and possible successes in the international signing period. I can say, today, our Top 20 is legitimately really good - filled with boom or bust possibilities throughout. These are prospects, mind you. Not a single one of us knows how these hard-working and committed athletes are going to fare once they face the best in the world. That's just a silly proposition to think we do. BUT, we absolutely have a foundation here that has a chance. And, as far as I'm concerned, that's really all we can ask for. Let's go a step further: How can you not be excited about the Minor League free agency signing period after what we just witnessed in late 2021? I mean, they struck Minor League GOLD in that late period of free agency. Let's factor in a clear familiarity and ability to scout Indy League talent. Perhaps, @Yolk, I'll throw this in your court (and, I absolutely don't mean this in a critical way): Maybe you aren't up-to-date as to how our current 2022 Minor League year is progressing? We have been Top 5 overall Wins/Losses almost all season.
  11. Is this post missing blue font? #CanNotTellIfSarcasticOrSerious
  12. This is the @Brock BeauchampI've come to know and love. Always receptive to feedback. Always considerate. Is there a better front man for a 'website takeover'? I want to party with you, Cowboy!
  13. 7 more stolen bases on Darrien Miller tonight. He is now seeing a 92.2% successful stolen base rate on his arm. That's a 7.8% throw-out rate in 2022. This is entering some really rough territory. Addendum: obviously, it isn't all on a catcher. But, there's something here. They touch on it in the podcast. Give it a listen.
  14. The historical thing about Jose Acosta's dinger was it was on his first pitch as a Timber Rattler. Put it in that 'Brewer Fanatic' Trivial Pursuit (2022 edition).

  16. The Biloxi write-up above? Absolute, 100%, chef's kiss. That's the stuff that brought me here those many 'Brewer Fan' years ago, @Mass Haas. If there is a such a thing as a 'poet laureate' for Minor League baseball, you win that award on a yearly basis.

  18. RHP Kent Hasler was promoted from High-A Wisconsin all the way up to Nashville, Tennessee. Kent definitely has the stuff that'll play at these higher levels. Good for him!
  19. The ongoing shaky Biloxi bullpen blew another one tonight in Pensacola. BUT, enough about that. It. Is. The Month of Lutz. My goodness, there is hot and then there is ludicrous. Hottest player in the system right now - apologies Abraham Almonte.
  20. Two more scoreless Cam Robinson innings for the extended Save. One hit. 4 k’s. What. A. Stud. BUT, the real news might be: He shaved his ‘Stache! Nice look, young fella! Please grow it back?
  21. The rare rough outing and early exit from Corbin. Bummer. Let's hope they get some runs across and make a game of it.
  22. SO happy for Pablo Reyes. Absolutely, one of my favorite guys on the Sounds and in the organization. He's been making great contact all year. Rarely makes a mistake in the field. Always a savvy base-runner. This pleases me quite well! An underrated translator to boot. I think, perhaps, Miguel Sanchez put in the good word for his good buddy?
  23. Nashville grabs a game back in the series and is back to 17 above 0.500 winning 8-4 in Durham. Boushley with another solid outing on the hill, and Thomas Hardy gives up his first run in relief (cheers, Thomas, that was a heck of a start since coming back up to Triple-A). In addition to the aforementioned grand salami from Corey Ray we have a Wily Adames knock in the eighth inning. Yeah baby.
  24. OK, my 'What's going on with Wiemer?' antenna is officially up. He again is on the bench. This is, what, his third consecutive game on the pines with no word as to what might be going on? Ruh-roh raggy! In the game itself, Jakson Reetz hit his 6th double and has an rbi, Cam Devanney just hit his second HR of the series and seventh on the year. Victor Castaneda has completed five innings on 97 pitches of 3 run (2 earned) 7 strikeout ball. Biloxi leads 5-3.
