  1. And, now Root is getting into that Root groove: Gives up an 0-2 line drive single to CF. Too much plate. Too high for a sinker. Root absolutely does this routinely. Let's hope he can bounce back.
  2. And, in classic fashion, just as I type that about Root he gives up an absolute bomb on an absolute hanger of an off-speed pitch. That was a terrible pitch. LOL.
  3. LOL. I went back and read them, yes. I had to go do farm chores before that final inning. I was incredulous. Stanley and Moeller were barking too. Did not sit well.
  4. I can not express how annoying watching any baseball game is from behind homeplate. I sincerely hope Pensacola gets their OF cam going as this series progresses. Nice to see RHP Bayden Root with some solid early work out of the Pen.
  5. Wasn't that madness? Totally ruined Renz's bottom line. Would have been a clean 7 K 3BB of work. That same ump then stole a K looking to the next batter too at the knees right on the outer black. Absurd work.
  6. I mean. COME. ON. Already miscalculated a K swinging count. Puts that runner aboard. Then he let's this gorgeous outer black at the knees go for a ball. Joke.
  7. The ump then absolutely squeezes Renz on a K looking to take the count full. Batter bloops it to RF for an RBI. This ump is a tragedy in the 9th. Unreal.
  8. Man the homeplate ump @ Augusta miscalculated the count and stole Renz's 7th K - 6 of 7 are swinging btw. Instead, he misses low and walks his 4th batter. Absurd work by the ump there. That can't happen at any level. Runners on 1st and 2nd instead of ending on a punch out with a runner stranded at 2B.
  9. That's three relatively clean innings for Renz. No hits. He has given three free passes (all in full counts, however). No runs. On to the top of 9. 5-1 Muddies.
  10. Nice! A swinging strike atop the zone gets into a 1-2 count and Walther tries to back pick a runner at 1B with a high throw up the RF line. Bitonti expertly grabs it and fires an accurate rocket to 2B to grab Renz's first out of the 8th.
  11. AND, we are back after a long weather delay in Pensacola. Let's see who is on the bump. It looks like RHP KC Hunt will indeed still continue in the bottom of the fourth frame. Runner on 1st. 0-1 count. Nobody down.
  12. While you all are watching the King of the North smash Salami Dongs to the LF bullpen for a 9-2 Brewsers lead, I am pounding the pavement watching RHP Tyler Renz pump K's like they are pennies in a baseball wish fountain! 4 K's through 2 IP. Scoreless. One BB. No hits. Apparently, he has hit 96 mph in bullpen sessions. He sits 89-91 mph in these innings but he has a lot of ride on that heater and is missing a lot of barrels. All the pitches have very nice shape. Lovely debut.
  13. Rodriguez swipes his 2nd base of the frame. E2 thrown into LF. 5-1 Mudcats. The throw home, for posterity's sake, also misfired and reached the backstop. A 75 mph bloop and some hot rod running on the base paths. Adamczewski flies out to RF to end the frame. On to the bottom of the 7th.
  14. Tyler Rodriguez starts the Mudcats 7th with a reach 75 mph 'muscled' bloop liner into CF for a single. The Muddies are expertly squeaking out pokes like this since Bitonti's 111mph solo blast.
  15. RHP Tyler Renz Low-A debut. Heater sitting 88-91 mph but very clearly has life up in the zone. Several swings and misses above the barrel. He gets a K swinging on a high heater for out 1. He gets a K swinging on an inside slider for K 2. He gets away with a bit of a hanging curve for a fly out to RF. A clean 1-2-3 first inning debut! What can't these young pitchers do for us in 2025?! Incredible.
  16. Well, we come out of the rain delay in the sixth with runners at 2nd and 3rd. A 2-1 lead. Bitonti K's swinging on a string pull chang-up. Jose Anderson then bloops a sky high first pitch ball that somehow lands in shallow RF between the sliding RF and 1B. It is now 4-1 Mudcats. Di Turi flies out to 3B.
  17. For any Bobby Petrol fans such as myself, our man Spencer has apparently cut up some Sweeper filth. It is glorious: I had nearly forgotten how much I absolutely love that pitch. It's beautiful.
  18. AND, just as the Mudcats will apparently be resuming play in Augusta the Shuckers are now in a rain delay in the 4th inning in Pensacola. They lead 6-0. Obviously, the game is not official as of yet.
  19. Payamps escapes. Sounds win 7-3. Big 'W' agains the International League second half leaders.
  20. Sky High chopper and Dalbec expertly charges and barehands for the rocket put out. Huge out. Two down. Runners at 2nd and 3rd.
  21. Payamps gives up a hard hit oppo deep fly to the warning track in RF for out number one. That ball was tagged. Hangs an 0-1 slider for a single into RF. Hangs a pitch one slider. AND, Payamps has two aboard. The man loves to hang those pitches.
  22. The Grand Adventure that is RHP Joel Payamps will take the ninth inning work.
  23. That'll be it for the Sounds. Tyler Black fly out to LF. Dalbac swings and misses at three consecutive off-speed pitches for his 2nd K. Bobby loves that swing and miss as much as he loves to mash. 😜
  24. AND Avans plates two himself with another single up the middle in nearly identical fashion as Zamora with the infield in. It's a 7-3 game. One down. Avans at first. Love it.
