Spencer has a nice write-up on Niksch in his Patreon. I believe it was a month or so ago? Because it is paid, however, I will not post it here. He's just a guy who knows how to pitch. He mixes his off-speed really well and can move into righties or away from lefties with real skill. Massive pull and dip on his slider and massive fade and sink on the change-up - his clear strikeout offerings. Here's his Brewers PD shine from late June:

Old friend C Payton Henry gets the call-up with his contract selected by the Philadelphia Phillies (who had picked him up after the Yankees let him go in early July). I believe this will be his first MLB action since the 2021-2022 season!

Peyton Niksch moving Low-A to Double-A as an UDFA is not talked about enough. He has had a fabulous season and continues to prove his ability to get outs has not been impacted by organizational ball. Big promotion and a big test. Here's hoping he keeps crushing!

Every time I see a new Top 20/30 I am reminded of how disgustingly deep this Brewers system is. What a time to be a Brewers fan! It seems like only a few years ago (which I believe is accurate? 😅) we were debating Juan Baez's AFL 'power break out', Eduardo Garcia's "...if he could just lay off the slider away...", and Daniel Guilarte's "...if he could just cut down that swing-and-miss!". Now we routinely leave out 10 very qualified players due to the overwhelming depth.

You have to love the pre-game hype for this Shuckers line up and then they win a two-hit 1-0 shutout on the backs of Galindez, Seppings, and Childers. 😄

Carra has certainly struggled with consistency in 2026 but, man alive, when he flashes he flashes really nicely.

Man, I really hope Matthew Golden becomes as good a player as his twitch and athleticism say he can be. He has elite short area quickness. He appears to have very good hands in the limited GT we saw last season. It just appears all the ingredients are there to be a true #1 type guy.

I get the concern about Henderson's lack of innings overall and his IL stints. I really do. It's been a theme since he's been a Brewer. But, man alive, when he's healthy he's an absolute stud. Why would the Brewers even consider moving that with the current state of the Brewers starting staff? Logan Henderson has never given up more than 3 earned runs in a single one of his 13 outings as an MLB player over the past two seasons. He's only allowed 3 earned runs once. Joe Ryan has conceded 3 or more runs in 6 outings in 2026. He just gave up 6 HR in his last outing at Cleveland. He had 10 outings in 2025 with 3 or more runs allowed. Now, don't get me wrong, Joe Ryan is a very good MLB pitcher. I simply personally do not think he's a great MLB pitcher and he's overvalued because he's the best arm on a very average Minnesota Twins team. He's 30 years old to Logan's 24. There's not a lot of worlds I live in where I'd give away Logan's six years of development trajectory to reach Ryan's current age given what Logan has already showed us. Logan obviously doesn't have the innings Ryan has (and has had) BUT, today, Logan leads Ryan in xFIP, FIP, ERA xERA while having over half of Ryan's WAR in just over 1/3rd of Ryan's innings.

Absolutely an outlier arm angle. He is quirky and hard to track. Has velo and has good off-speed stuff. It has always been an issue of precision, control, and consistency. Now that he has the walks down for a prolonged stretch it is going to be an issue of can he miss more bats, imho? Regardless, we just might be witnessing a true breakout.

Lost in the Cameron Wagoner hype (rightfully hyped!), RHP Blake Holub is having the season we Holub Stans prayed for. Big dill!!

I have said the same since very early in his time as a Brewer. As he's added some strength and mass it becomes even more visible - just watch him round those bases after a long ball. He has always come across, to me, as a straight line very fast guy but with stiffer hips and a more upright posture. He just doesn't seem all that loose when he moves. This being said, he is 100x more athletic than I ever was.😅
