  1. Which a team can do if they’re kinda bad or at least mediocre at the deadline, which the Braves were last season. They just happened to get a 90th percentile result on all their middling moves. Acquiring the likes of an Eddie Rosario is a lot less effective when you have competent production up and down the lineup and are already on pace for 90+ wins.
  2. I understand and sympathize opting for rehab over surgery but does it ever actually work?
  3. It's kind of amazing how bad MLB is at fundamental baseball stuff.
  4. Well, the Brewers did okay for themselves against Greene last time and it's not as if pitchers get better upon repeated viewings so I'm pretty hopeful the Reds are returned to their not-winning ways.
  5. Thank you so much for the kind words, I only noticed this thread now for some reason... ?
  6. I saw a lot of that 2003 Tigers team. The Reds have some tough competition to be named worst team ever.
  7. Bob Uecker narratives this 20-year anniversary retrospective of the 1989 Milwaukee Brewers. It was a volatile season with the Brewers bouncing up and down the standings in the American League East division. We see many familiar faces of yore in this video: Paul Molitor, Robin Yount, Teddy Higuera, and more. View full video

  9. I'm sure Castillo is excited for the opportunity to start showcasing himself for other teams.
  10. Flipped on the TV to check out the game, looked at the score, and...
  11. So was half of baseball during that time. That 2017 Astros team chaps my ass but there were a lot of teams doing similar things.
  12. The other day, Carlos Correa missed a ball. He's being paid 33% of the payroll. He's obviously bad at baseball.
  13. Caratini's defense was equally good as Tellez's defense was bad.
  14. Absolutely. Our goal is to be as transparent and simple as possible. We're not trying to steal money here, we're providing a service and anyone who no longer wishes to use that service should be given an easy way to opt out.
  15. He had a streak like this in 2020, though it should be remembered that while he was disappointing in 2020, he was still a decent player (largely fueled by the following stretch of play, though all of August was pretty good). 16. Yeah, you can do it via PayPal if you used that payment method but we also offer direct credit card processing through Stripe (a highly respected online processor). The way we have it set up, our server never sees your CC number, that entire portion of the page is managed by Stripe for security reasons.
  17. Keston Hiura has been a polarizing figure among Brewers fans for several years. After a breakout 2019 season, he struggled through the shortened 2020 season before becoming borderline unplayable in 2021, posting just a 49 OPS+ 197 plate appearances. Huira has struggled to find a position and playing time in the current Brewer roster, as the Brewers have Kelton Wong entrenched at second base while Rowdy Tellez has thrived at first. His reverse platoon splits have also been working against Hiura, meaning the right-handed hitter struggles against left-handed pitching. This has led manager Craig Counsell to have difficulty regularly finding a place to play Hiura. Replacing Hiura is 28-year-old minor league journeyman Luis Perdomo, likely a stop-gap move as the Brewers want to bolster their bullpen during a stretch where the team plays nine games in nine days, the final six on the road. Suppose Hiura remains in the minor leagues for 20 days. In that case, the Brewers will burn his remaining option, which means they will need to make a difficult decision on Hiura this fall or next spring, as he will be required to remain on the 26-man Major League roster or be exposed to waivers. Was this the right move for the Brewers to make? Leave a comment and give us your opinion!
  18. Keston Hiura had some early season success but ultimately, it wasn't enough to prevent a demotion to AAA Nashville. 19. I tested this but it was a long time ago on Twins Daily. Go ahead and cancel your renewal, the system should just expire it in a year. If it disables it completely, I'll manually renew it for you.
  20. Oh, reading old threads is hilarious and fun... until I stumble upon one of my own takes.
  21. If you're commenting about splitting the topic, yes, I did that and will continue to do it. There are two categories of users in a forum: 1. Those who have been here a long time and already read the content in the old thread. 2. Those who have not been here a long time and do not care about a conversation from the past when new, updated news is more relevant. Over time, forums tend to become insular and impenetrable. It's a big reason why communities die; they bleed off users slowly over time but do not attract new users because it's too hard to "break into" a community that has thrown up large walls around itself. My goal is to keep conversation lively and be welcoming to those potential users, particularly when it comes at no cost to established users. That old thread still exists and is readily available to read should anyone wish to do so.
