  1. As i remember, the Royals have a pretty good message board of their own that is on the BF.net forums list. A lot like this board. Going to check it out again now. edit: So i forgot my user name from last year and had to create a new one. One of the questions they ask you when you sign up is, "What was George Brett's number?" Good stuff.

  3. Lefty on the mound? http://www.gillettegruppe.de/BRAUN_Logo_sw.jpg
  4. Why fantasy sports are ruining the game Taken from Northsidebaseball.com: "At least when the Brewers win, they beat up my fantasy opponent's pitcher in Zito."
  5. gameday showed that strikeout pitch by Coco as being in the dirt. Only one pitch that could have been.
  6. If Cordero can get through this inning clean, that will confirm a few things with this ball club. A. He is over the rough stretch B. So are the Brewers C. We're ready to blow up this lead in the Central
  7. Insurance please! Let's put up a crooked number to give Coco a rest.
  8. Well, whatever. Throw them the Bow and then a Coco and let's end this game. No Bonds to worry about, so we have to attack them.
  9. Fielder turns 0-2 into an 8 pitch at bat. .. and now a walk. That is the difference between 06 Prince and 07 Prince.
  10. 0-2 so far today, Prince is due. King sized shot coming up.
  11. Yeah, no kidding. Did you want to save him so that he might have a chance to drive in a run later on? He just did it a bit earlier and that might be the difference between Cordero or Turnbow coming in and Spurling coming in.
  12. I was just reading through the scouts.com cubs board and i found interesting stat: The Cubs are 2-27 when they give up 5 runs or more. Should i be amazed? I am.
  13. You had to know this was coming, guys. We can score the runs to open this one up again, but i'll be happy with a simple win. Would have been much simpler if Vargas didn't forget how to throw strikes.
  14. Was he really out? I guess Bochy got ejected.. Atta boy Damian. Now hit Jenkins here against the righty.
  15. wow, a five spot. I guess that's not so bad. With Bonds up, 1 out, 2 men on against Shouse that could have gone much much worse.
  16. Oh no, Ned trusts Shouse vs. Bonds
  17. Ouch, now a single. Make it stop please.
  18. uh oh... Looks like today is the day that it will finally catch up with Vargas. Good thing we built a lead.
  19. Hall's end of season homerun total means very little. You can't expect him to play catchup the rest of the season just to get his totals from last year. If he was hitting a homerun every 15 at bats (just for example) last year to get his numbers, then if he hits a homerun every 15 from here on out that will be awesome. He won't reach his total from last year, but there is nothing he can do about the first 1/3 of the season and he will be great for us the rest of the way. That's really all that matters is that he plays to his ability for the rest of the season. I'm not expecting him to get white hot and catch up to last season, nor will i be dissapointed at all when he doesn't.
  20. A little late, but: Billy! ...and that's no joke
  21. Weeks in front of the pitcher makes a lot of sense. If he gets on with less than two outs the pitcher can move him from 1st to 2nd, or if he steals or hits a double, from 2nd to 3rd. It's a good spot for him right now. When he finds his power again, then you move him.
  22. If the bullpen is doing well and we are on our way to the playoffs, then maybe see if something is there. It's never a bad thing to have too many good relievers. But if it's not, then oh well. If we are struggling in the pen, then obviously we make more of a push. My first choice to go would be Mench because if you take him out we don't really miss much. I am NOT in favor of trading Jenkins. What would our outfield be without Jenkins and his 12 homeruns? Hall, Hart, and ? If you are insisting that we make Mench the every day left fielder you would be nuts. In a nice way of course. Jenkins is more useful in so many ways. Fielding, Arm, Leadership, Hits against righties which there are more of than lefties that Mench would thrive on, Fan support. Let's leave it at Jenkins, Hall, Hart in the outfield. Hart Hardy Braun Fielder Hall Jenkins Estrada Weeks... is one heck of a lineup, and the only way it will get better is with experience, not trading away starters. It's already pretty good, and with the exception of Jenkins and Estrada, it is going to get even better as the individual players reach their peaks. The only way i would like to see a trade that affects our starting lineup is if it saves us money and puts a high contact/low strikeout guy there to teach the rest of the team a thing or two. Once TGJR comes back up later in the season, we'll have our pinch runner and defensive sub. We need to step back and let this team grow for a while before weeding out anyone. Jenkins and Estrada may seem old but compared to some of the players that are still effective these days it is nothing. Let all trades start and end with the pitching, relief pitching at that.
  23. Maybe we need to seek some assistance from a few other message boards. No trading votes or anything like that, but just a good post about why they should vote for Prince and that we'd appreciate the support, and so would Prince of course.
  24. I knew it. I knew it. I can't leave now.
  25. Well, this is it. No runs here and i'm turning in. But at least i can go to bed with this in mind...
