  3. Wow, i just saw Cappy's record and i'm quite amazed that he's been able to get 11 wins and only 6 losses .. If we play about .500 ball the rest of the way.. he might end up with 18 wins or so. that'd be incredible! In fact, if he just maintains what he has been doing and we give him some support, with a little luck we could have a 20 game winner
  4. Brian, i hope you realize that this makes absolutely no sense... While you can compare totals like HR's and 2B's and RBI in this way, OPS is a percentage, and multiplying it by .60 doesn't show you any type of progress, it just cuts it way down for no reason whatsoever. At the 60% mark, they have a combined 1.441 OPS.. This is what they did in 60% of the season wich, unlike HR totals, can both raise AND lower as the season unfolds. Also, a player can start with a 1.25 OPS and finish with about a 1.25 OPS, but you can't say that at the all star break he had a .625 OPS just because 1.25*.50 = .625, because he never dipped that low... Although, i do sense some humor in your post... so if that's the case then laugh at me for taking the time to type this.. If not, then i suggest you look up the message board rules, there are ABSOLUTELY NO MATHEMATICAL BLUNDERS ALOWED IN THIS FORUM.
  5. Am i the only one who thought that the conversation about the "Bat Fight" would go on longer than it did? I swear i thought i was doomed for the next 2 hours.... way to take the high road guys.
  6. oh well.. swallow this one.. and get ready to hit the ball hard tomorrow, because it's going to happen.
  7. Oh, there we go.. now maybe that gave Ortiz enough time to remember who he really is..
  8. If anything, the Reds should take the loss since it is their stadium that is malfunctioning.. right? It's like if there is a cancellation of a flight due to weather, then the airline doesn't compensate for a hotel or anything if you can't get another flight out.., but if it is due to mechanical malfunction, then they shell out big time.. Yes, let's hope thats how it is...
  9. Darnit.. i just got on my break to watch the last three innings and now this happens.. i'll be lucky to get through the 8th now.. that means i'll miss our dramatic come from behind victory capped by Billy Hall hitting a blast to left....
  10. Well, there weren't very many of us who really thought that we would sweep this series.... If you had to pick a game to lose, i'd say i would have picked this one... I'm predicting a homer here by Griffey.. just the way its going
  11. Fried Ohka tonight.. That is too bad.. It's okay though.. Ortiz should give up at least 2 more before he departs.. I'd like to see Eveland in there
  12. Does anyone else think that Thompson looks like he is about 12 years old? I can't stand this guy..
  13. interesting.. wouldn't have gone fastball there..
  14. Benny nearly got a hit today.. it will be okay..
  15. Oh by the way.. Rickie, not Richie, has almost a 1000 OPS against lefties!
  16. The Curve is here the Curve is here!!!!
  17. Come on Moeller.. put something on ESPN tonight
  18. Here's the big question. do we pinch hit helms here for sheets? In all seriousness, Hardy will come through here anyway..
  19. I just heard one of the cards guys say that Chris Magruder is one of the "Young" guys that we are "High" on..
  20. can't say i didn't fear that one ... I think alot of sheets struggles this year have to do with the fact that he wasn't able to workout his upper body in the offseason.. Thus, you do not see him throwing 97, 98 a whole lot.. He can't get away with 93 mph fast balls as we just witnessed.. I remember watching last years all star game and he came off the bench throwing 97.. If he has a bad year and his ERA is around 3.3.. well that's fine with me..
  21. oh no.. Cards announcers again. I am growing to hate them.. very arrogant
  22. In honor of number 15, i will be eating my steak with ketchup today.. Let's go Benny!
  23. Tomwopat - The clips of Turnbow are on MLB.com, you must have MLB.TV to view them.. if you do, just go to multimedia, then MLB.TV.. at the bottom there is today's schedule of games, but you can change the date via the pulldown menu, and just enter in June 25, 2004, and select the angels and dodgers...
