    And now.. I give you... June 25th, 2004, Derrick Turnbow hitting against Robin Ventura! And Turnbow takes him deep but caught.. wow...

    Wow, June 23, 2004.. Turnbow comes in for the Angels and is all over the place with his fastball... If you thought he was bad in that game against the Padres this year when Santana bailed him out, go watch this one! They show his stats from AAA.. he had a 5.11 ERA.. Also, even though he is much more wild, he isn't consistantly hitting 96, 97, 98 at all.. much more like 92, 93, 94 Oh, June 25.. this is good.. Turnbow is pitching in a 13-0 game (led by the angels).. and Robin Ventura is due to pitch the ninth for the Dodgers! What an excellent find.. And now a Dave Roberts sighting for the Dodgers... Well.. after watching this i have decided that Maddux is definitly a Sorcerer... It's not hard to figure out why the angels let him go with the Closer that they have.. Turnbow will only get better! Melvin is good.

    Well, here we go.. i have to work, and we got Ben vs. that guy from the X-Files... I'm seriously thinking about throwing down some money on this one, with those odds. But there's no telling whether or not that curveball is going to be there... I'll bet on the Cappy game.. I'm about to run over to the MLB.com board and watch some clips of Turnbow from last year.. should be good!

    I would like to re-post something i had said to open this series... Looks like they have been doing exactly as i had hoped, and i don't just bring that up because i am right (two games into the second half). I bring it up because I don't recall more than a SMALL handful of games in the entire first half that we had came back and.. well.. battled out a victory. And it's not just a two game fluke, though.. we have been doing this since the last game of that cubs series it seems like. Hitting with two outs.. and most importantly, the bottom of the lineup carrying a little more of the load.. If Carlos has indeed busted out of his slump with that long ball, this will be a fun ride... Four in a row, lets get another one today and clinch this series!

    I'm not about to go predicting numbers.. you know.. 3-1 vs. nationals.. split with cards... but i will say that this team is going to have a SOLID second have, with stretches of real good wins.. the easy kind.. Remember those? But mroe importantly, we will start winning those 1 run games and come back from defecits we are expected to come back from. That, my friends, is the definition of Battle! Does this team have a nickname by the way? How bout Ned's Gamers, or Butch's Battlers

    In Ned's defense, you can't help it if your batters go hittless for 9 innings. You also can't help the errors. In the Ned-haters' defense, just because your team looks like they are trying to throw the game away, doesn't mean you don't have to manage. We were still tied, i think he made the right decision taking Wise out. But i would have liked to see Santana in that situation. Oh well, BECAUSE.... They have used ALOT of their bullpen in the first three games, and we have used very little. We have a good edge for today's game and i don't think that anyone should be crying about taking 3 of 4 from the Marlins in Florida. I know when i first saw 7 games at Florida/Atlanta, i thought 3-4 would be nice. Now it looks like we have a shot at 5-2.
