  1. Once you remove Renfroe, it takes a big chunk of power out of the lineup. The Brewers rank 3rd in the majors by OPS by RFs; by far the highest ranking of any position. But, yeah, you trade anyone if you're fleecing your trading partner.
  2. For all of the hatred given to the offense, they rank 10th in runs scored and OPS. The pitching staff ranks 17th best in runs allowed and 10th in WHP What they both do in abundance is strike out: 4th most for the offense, 3rd most for the pitching. The thing is, the pitching underperformed because some pitchers didn't live up to expectations and some were injured for chunks of the year. The offense was about as good as you can expect from this group of players.
  3. To get equal WAR, they'd need to get someone better than Devin Williams, so an elite closer. And their offense from the OF would lack punch. IMO, Renfroe shouldn't go anywhere until Wiemer has proven he can hit ML pitchers. That could be as early as the middle of the season, if Wiemer gets a call up because of injury on the ML club, and does well.
  4. You might want to look at the stats of the chumps they did call up from AAA.
  5. I guess it falls to Counsell, because you can't just release 20 of the players, but this is on the players.
  6. you might want to remove the last 3 letters from your BF name.
  7. 1/3rd of the games, if the pitching was equal.
  8. I might put it off until a desperate team needs a CF because of an injury just before the season starts.
  9. What has happened to Small? I was never that high on him, but he should at least be a good AAA pitcher.
  10. The two pitchers the Sounds have faced have been pretty pedestrian players this year, but they are getting shut out with 8 SO in 5 innings.
  11. so, win all the rest of the games, and hope for help. that's all we got.
  12. At third, Brewers are 23rd in MLB in OPS. At C they are 19th. At CF they are 20th, but would be a lot better if you removed Cain's stats. At 1B, they are 14th. At 2B, they are 5th. At SS, they are 8th. LF: 13th. RF: 3rd (yet people want to let Renfroe walk). DH: 16th.
  13. obviously there is nothing about situational hitting that's the problem; the problem is that overall they don't hit.
  14. I was daunted by Fishman's 1.74 ERA until I saw his entire MLB career has been 10.1 innings. with only 5 SO.
  15. but it shows that situational hitting isn't the problem.
