  1. He's had difficulty throwing the CU for strikes. All he needs to fix.
  2. (Just looked at "old" stats, sorry). MKE is 6th in OPS, 5th in Runs, 2nd (tied) in HR Brewer pitching is: 10th in ERA, 11th in WHP, 3rd in OBA, and 1st (by a good bit) in SO. Seems like hitting is outperforming pitching at this point. I'd love to see them acquire a bat and a reliever. I'd really like the bat to be Wiemer in a September call-up, and put into CF.
  3. My memory might be failing me, but I don't recollect (all) the minors consistently not having games on Monday.
  4. piggy back usually means you're controlling innings by having one guy of a pair start one game and having the other guy of a pair start the next (or at least a future) game. I think what you're suggesting is just to have two long relievers (and spot starters) in the pen, not to actually piggyback them with another starter.
  5. there's no reason to delay, unless they don't think he's ready. Nashville has some OF they could jettison, and there will still be 4 decent OF in Biloxi.
  6. Yelich is a gold glove winner too. Which means gold gloves often don't mean anything.
  7. Where are you getting that? Fangraphs has him as a negative defensively and baseball ref. has him neutral defensively. And his hitting is substandard for a starting corner outfielder. I'm not saying he'd be a bad guy to get, but if we get an OF he should probably be a CF.
  8. Could be any time. It would still leave Mitchell, Frelick, and Lutz in Biloxi.
  9. If you want ideal piggyback partners, you choose one RH and one LH.
  10. I'd prefer to think the players are professionals.
  11. Fortunately, there aren't many great teams. There never are. And the best team doesn't always win the World Series
  12. Are you suggesting the pitcher didn't know that? What kind of advice can he provide that is helpful? Unless Lauer was flustered and he needed to calm him down, or he wanted to give the bullpen a chance to get someone ready, I don't see the purpose.
  13. He's kinda just OK. He'd certainly be an improvement over Peterson in the OF.
  14. What do you expect a pitching coach to say: "Hey, Champ, if you could stop giving up home runs that would be great. K?"
  15. The guy never played more than 123 games, and has been mediocre since 2019, and is coming off a ped suspension. I get the potential he offers, but his actual accomplishments aren't great.
  16. He played against the reds in 7.9% of his games. so only 1 in 2009 chance to get all 3 vs. the Reds.
  17. I don't think we'd have to give up more than one. Plus a couple of lower prospects.
  18. I think he wouldn't cost nearly as much as you suggest.
  19. do you mean assists rather than put outs?
  20. I think we should all pronounce his last name Churro, because he's sweet and tasty.
  21. a 5 walk 1 single, 4-run bottom of the ninth inning gives Wisconsin the win. Man, like a little league game.
  22. Brewers lead the majors in runs scored. but they're 16th in batting, 17th in OBP, 3rd in SLG, and 1st in HR(tied). So maybe hitting HRs is a really good thing, even if they can't get on base very often. And before the last 5 games they were barely averaging above 4 runs a game. 28 runs in two games can skew stats a lot.
