  1. Arnold and Murphy are ready to have a lot of players invigorate this lineup...but not really through trades. Most deadline buyers would turnover around 15% of the roster and I am sure that Arnold and Murphy are ready to do the same...internally. Lockridge returns and platoons with Sal...BP sent to AAA Woo returns and moves Sproat to long relief...Woodford cut CPratt elevated to 26man roster...Rengifo traded/waived and Ortiz and Bunty platoon at 3B. Logan returns, stays healthy and impresses the rest of the year cementing his rotation slot. Koenig returns and sends DL Hall and his walks to AAA Greg Jones, ABaddoo, and/or Matos can be cut if there is a Daniel Norris-esque addition to the 40.
  2. So much fun info to take in here. AVaughn almost has to be on his way out; 10mil is a lot to onboard for what, as of now, seems to be a platoon player at Jake's more natural position. Pratt and Jett may be up soon to take some pressure to fill a void on the left side. The new CBA may mean that Milwaukee finds money to reinvest in vets/pay Made to reach the salary floor. Cameron Wagoner and Stiven Cruz have been playing well enough to add to the 40 next year, but not exciting enough to trade away for proper value; relievers will have to be moved to make way. It has been noted on podcasts that Matt Arnold does not really trade away top prospects...so the wheeling and dealing from the roster has to come from lower prospects or flagging vets. Zerpa is to the 60-day IL soon to free up a roster spot. Trading for Peralta to return would be a great dig at Stearns and a marketing boom for a team that usually trades away heroes. Could be out: AVaughn, Yoho, DL Hall, comp picks (if any), Gasser, JD Thompson, LAdams, Wilken, Carlos Rodriguez are all options. I like it that Reid Detmers makes sense here...LOTS to like. Lower FIP than Soriano and has a 1.143 WHIP and a SO/9 over 10. As noted above, he is not an expiring contract. LAA has no top 30 prospects at 3b (aside from an 18 year old c/3b) and Moncada has not been what they wanted there. Any collection of Wilken and a lefty or two to get it done...but bidding may mean a much bigger package to be sent away. Vaughn could be included to platoon at 1st or take over for Solar at DH. (I am not focusing on exact value of trades, just throwing out players that may fill the roster holes either way) My choice is...Aroldis Chapman...pushes pen leverage down a player and can keep Ashby at the multi-inning lefty role. Uribe and Megill plus Chapman means a non Miz/KHarrison playoff starter needs only go a few innings to get to Patrick or Ashby before the 7th, 8th, 9th innings are gassed out. A collection to BOS including Yoho and Adams might win the bidding war. What will really happen is...a very Brewers trade that no one will like...a 40 man pitcher for an outfielder that does one thing kinda well and is on an expiring contract. Lane Thomas can hit lefties and play all 3 positions. It is going to happen and I am sorry. He is the Daniel Norris or Trevor Rosenthal of field players and I just cannot see us not getting Lockridge back and picking up a utility OF to replace Perkins and it will only cost a McGee or Woodford and possibly an A ball lottery ticket to make room for Wagoner and/or SCruz on next year's 40 man roster.
  3. Oh I am aware...I don't like looking at 3-4 positions being a black hole.
  4. Go look at his splits versus right-handed pitching.
  5. I would not mind that at all. Take some pressure off Ashby and removes DL Hall from walking people in the playoffs Drohan stays in long relief. 7th,8th,9th with Chapman, AUribe, Megill would be nice.
  6. I thought of adding a KRod type player at the deadline to move everyone in the bullpen down a step and that might add the vet presence that Abner may need.
  7. The draft is one aspect that I was overlooking and I remember that that comes into deadline trades as well (drafting over a position means that we could be more willing to trade a player from that new position of strength). Thank you.
  8. I was wondering if the Timber Rattler players who are doing well were being held in high A because once they get promoted no ones resdy to fill their roster spot on Wisconsin. To what extent does this go into timing of a promotion? I know Big League teams like to promote players into a homestead rather than on the road... so there are some outside factors that go into promotions. Jett may be being held back because they want to avoid Super 2 designation, but he also might be being held back because his split vs RHP is sub-optimal.
  9. Pete in 12 years of Fld% - .966 Bauers last year in LF Fld% - .933 over 152innings.
  10. Sometimes it looks like Yelich has no plan at the plate.
  11. Drohan gonna compete for a slot when the 3 Red Sox gonna be fighting for their roster spot.
  12. It's the talking to the umpire and the shaking of the head that gets me... if you think he's wrong pat your helmet and put your money where your mouth is. ABS gets rid of that mess.
  13. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned in this form but with the Mets calling up Ewing and giving him at bats it's an interesting compare contrast with Lara. Same age, almost the same successful numbers in AAA, same diminutive size, same roster position and status (before Ewing was called up and put on the 40)... if Ewing has success the case could be made that Lara might be successful if brought up as well.
  14. Jesus Made As long as he watches his diet, his bat will force some excellent decisions soon-ish.Luis Pena Hope he is 100% alright.Bishop Letson Lacks nuance now, but the arm plays into the top 100 soon.Logan Henderson Should be off this list already. Successful MLB starter right now.Cooper Pratt Has to figure out how to hit RHP but will be up soon.Andrew Fischer This is my pick to force his way into the lineup in Milwaukee some way, somehow. Just mashes everywhere.Josh Adamczewski Just mashes everywhere.Jeferson Quero Until he is 100% back from throwing arm injury, he will not be anything more than a #2 catcher.Marco Dinges Just mashes everywhere BUT can he catch & throw well? If so, then he will fly up this chart...if not then we have another 1B/DH/LFBraylon Payne Really doing well this year and at a younger age too. Jett Williams Too small and cannot hit righties...yet. I am lower on him because we have a better version in CPratt. Might be in the OF and do enough to stay for a while.Blake Burke Just mashes everything.Shane Drohan This year will be the one that settles him in a Brewer uniform for a long time. Dylan O'Rae A hitter, that with Fisher, could disrupt other's timelines and insert himself sooner rather than later. JD Thompson Vandy lefty with draft capital and a pathway to move up quickly.Luis Lara Gold glove-ish? Some pop now? Can play D all over...we will see. Too small and lacks pop to be any higher.Josh Knoth I still think he can spin it and stay healthy.Manuel Rodriguez I still believe he can get guys out. Jacob Morrison I have heard good things and has the size and draft capital to show something. Craig Yoho I will blame nerves last year for the untimely walks that moved him into the doghouse. Stuff is too good not to be called up this year and then stay. Ebel is too far out to be here; Boeve is closer and he needs a full year off of the IL. Hardin and Kuehner could join Crow in moving up here soon. Gasser needs to find his way back to having MLB stuff. Black is getting some time on the MLB club but almost as a last resort. Wilken and Luke "HBP" Adams' blooms have wilted. When I am too high on a player, I hope I am right. When I am too low on a player, I hope I am wrong.
