I think some players not mentioned will eat up 40 man roster positions just due to having to play between now and the end of the season. Really surprised we did not wrap in more 40man Rule V guys in outgoing trades. Btw, I also agree that Shane Smith has more value than Patrick (or Collins for that matter). I would not be surprised if someone grabs our A level pitching prospects for some brief pen work before "pulling their hammy" for 6 months. No reason WClarke and EMcGee don't get picked just as flyers.

So much can go wrong from A+ to MLB. I think of Barrios as someone that can be covered up by Pratt, Boeve, EBJr, or a 2024 draft pick. Civale might be able to get back to CLE heights and I think that Arnold would look at him and talk to his staff to find out if some fine tuning could get back to good. Civale and Keuchel offer experience as well. Myers, Rea, and FPeralta offer stability and some shining moments. If Civale and Keuchel could repeat what Dallas just did in Denver, then we are on to something. #PleaseStayHealthy

Brewers Still In the Market For Rotation Depth?
BrewCrew8675309 replied to wiguy94's topic in Transaction Rumors & Proposals
Tylor Megill has a 1.119 WHIP and SO/9 of 12.09 and is a FA in 2028...if we are giving up prospects for Mets pitching why not have Tylor in the convo??? -
What is wrong with Aaron Ashby?
BrewCrew8675309 replied to Mr Southpaw's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I have no idea why we are debating this as he is a recovering power lefty that is young-ish and MOST importantly...is already paid. This is not the NFL where you can wait till June 1st to cut a guy and save money. He has banked it already. Be patient like we all were with Yelich and see what the pitching lab can do once he gets to 100% (which may take even more time). If he hits, great...if not, then it is a Jimmy Nelson level shame and what might have been. He needs another year or so...not sooner. -
He is coming up...I just saw that so I will cede the point. I will say that part of my point was that IF they really believed in him, they would have chosen him first of all. Since they did not, why not let him continue to develop. But here we are in need of live arms and I wish him the very best.

Gasser Dealing With Left Elbow Issue
BrewCrew8675309 replied to wiguy94's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I said this on another thread, but man I wish they would take their time with CRod (and Misi) and wheel out Junis to join Rea, AAshby, Bryse, and Freddy plus Koenig and keep cycling out the bullpen until a trade is made. Misi and CRod need the Burnes treatment imo. But I am just a teacher and not a MLB analyst... -
I would rather have CRod not take lumps in MLB and let others be the sacrificial lambs. Carlos is more of a prospect that is struggling with his 5.27ERA and 1.293WHIP in AAA. Truthfully, I feel there are not correct answers here (unless AAshby is back to form) but rather than trotting TMyers out there again and again, I would like to see what they have in the likes of Blalock and Stallings before rushing a real prospect that is not doing well.

Blalock first please...

If we are trading relievers it will be Abner Uribe based on his attitude or lack of changing his attitude in AAA. Pick up Tommy Pham (.991 lifetime OPS in Miller Park/AFF) from CWS for Seminaris and maybe another Rule 5 guy that we will not be keeping (Yeager??). This will give you time on Weimer and GMitchell and give you options on how to use/sit JChurio moving forward. There will be NO trading Low-A starters at all!!!

Ashby optioned…. Herget selected……Devin to 60 day IL
BrewCrew8675309 replied to markedman5's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I think an MLB perk is free health care for life so he gets that at least. -
Opening Day will not need 6 starters as there are too many days off that can skip a starter and keep those already up on a schedule so OD Rotation will be these 5: Freddy, WMiley, Junis, Rea, Ross At the lab/extended ST Ashby (to get the shoulder right), DLHall (to get his plane and arm slot in line with Brewer expectations), Gasser (to slow his clock), Misi (to work on that delivery) Dream September rotation where everyone maxes out their potential Freddy, Ashby, DLHall, Misi, Gasser, and CRod A nice BP if chips do not land well DLHall, Payamps, Misi, AUribe, and a mix of Hoby, McGill, Peguro, TClarke, Thyago Vieira, Bryse, Hudson, Shane Smith with Devin Williams being traded.

2023-24 Offseason Ideas
BrewCrew8675309 replied to jay87shot's topic in Transaction Rumors & Proposals
The more I think about this the more I like it. Work with BAL from a position of strength. Devin Williams/ESmall/TyTaylor/pieces if needed for----> Mayo/Povich/CMcDermott/pieces if needed TBlack up on opening day and PHenry-esque backup (or Caratini or Quero or free agent to be the other catcher) ---Burnes, Peralta, AAshby, Houser, Gasser to start with CRod, CMcDermtt, Povich, Misi waiting in the wings (WMiley, Rea, JTeheran could be picked up again) ---Payamps, AUribe, Peguro, Hoby, McGill, Thyago and others like Blalock, McKendry, Junk, Yeager, or the like. ---Canha (for a year till Wilken is ready), Monty, Turang, Adames, TBlack, Contreras, another catcher, Owen Miller (till Mayo is ready) ---Yelich, Sal, GMitchell, Wiemer, and BPerkins (till JChurio is ready) Pick up a Kris Bryant-type in July as the payroll will be lower with the kids coming up. This scenario is a lot closer to who we are than bigger deals. -

BrewCrew8675309 replied to jay87shot's topic in Transaction Rumors & Proposals
I am not saying no to this but I would like to see Churio and Povich (lhp) come back from BAL with McDermott and Mayo. Mayo, Wilken, Black, Turang, Monty, Quero and the freshmen in the OF means that July could be a time to pick up a CC Sabathia type impact ace if we are doing well. -

Brewers Acquire Carlos Santana from Pirates
BrewCrew8675309 replied to Brewcrew82's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
And you forgot Rosenthal for TPeters last year. I too am tired of throwing away the Reese Olsens of the world when we have AAshby, JWilson, and others at home. -
Clayton Andrews and Matthew Wood for Justin Turner (Wood is good but Turner will get calls as we move into the trading season. Unless Turner did something wrong since I last checked, he looks strong for a rental at 1B. MWood will be replaced by Satchel and Clayton throws lefty) Hedbert Perez, Daniel Guilarte and Will Rudy for Josh Hader (Daniel Guilarte would sting but if they sign the young SSs in the 2023 draft then this would sting less. Another rental and while I hope that Rudy does not turn into Reese Olsen in DET; you have to give to get. This would let Justin Wilson and AAshby take their time and move some of the LHP RP wear and tear off of Hoby. Also...could you imagine the clubhouse when it is announced. Matt Arnold the hero.) Lastly we pick up a RF that has years of control (Arby eligible in 2024 and FA in 2026) and is hitting .835OPS now with a .361/.411/.630/1.041 split vs LHP but he is going to be costly. ESmall, LLara, and RobMoore for....Lane Thomas Feel free to add this this from our side to also pick up Jeimer Candelario

Outside of Lara, no Mudcat OF should be making travel plans. This might be the way. Briceno and 19-20 year old holdovers in LCastillo, Perez, and HMendez will probably be manning the OF with Avina and Fernandez.- 56 replies

BrewCrew8675309 replied to Jeremy Nygaard's topic in MLB Draft & International Signings
Adamczewski started at second base the past two seasons. He hit .488 with four homers and 36 RBIs last year and .470 with 23 RBIs in his high school debut after his freshman season was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 6-foot Adamczewski has gained weight throughout his career. He went from 145 pounds as a freshman to 195 this season.- 56 replies

So are we expecting every DSL and AFL position player to be in Carolina next year because we have not exactly loaded up on Cs, 2Bs and OFs in this draft.- 56 replies
