Well this has been an absolute joy. I said it before and I'll say it again, I love waking up to these types of posts. Going into reading this thread I actually knew the trade details so the first four pages had me wincing a bit because I knew that the last 14 pages would be rough to read. Yes, Ragsdale is 23 years old,.... no, id be very surprised if he went straight into Major League Baseball (but that speaks more to the Cardinals depth than to Ragsdale's skill).. yes, there are developmental risk with Frias but the bottom line is we had to get pitching and we had to get starting pitching to eat Innings because the Henderson, Gasser, Crow, Sprout, and Drohan crew haven't built up enough innings. We sold high and we sold from a position of strength....not surprising for Arnold to do that. We actually get three relievers because I think that, based on reading a former Brewer fanatic article, Sproat will go to the bullpen and maximize his talents once through the lineup. Yeah the value sucks on paper but I haven't thought about Yophery one damn day since the Quinn Priestor (sp?) trade. Also Arnold is not operating in a vacuum... he has to justify the trade to ownership and to the scouts....there may have been some pushback but not enough to prevent the trade going through. I need to go read more about this Colorado kid with the long name.... but I am glad we did something... I just hope it leads to the Cubs flying the L and advancing to the World Series. 🙏

We are sending Quero away in a trade and need more than Darrien Miller/ANava to support GSanchez. Yoho was Cleveland's demand. We didn't balk because Murphy watched Yoho walk a lot last year. Blake was collateral damage because the 40 man roster and what's coming up next. Much bigger trade coming up soon.

I have been looking at this as who will most likely be playing once the mutual option on Yelich is denied in 2029. Does Arnold et al view Fischer as a Huira/Gallo with the strikeouts? Won't Made be at 3B if not Fischer...maybe LPena. Maybe Fischer is at 1B with/instead of BBurke. It will be Turang's last year and maybe Ebel or Pena will be at 2B. For now its Pratt at SS but others can project there. Catcher is Quero, Dinges, DMiller or someone not in the organization now. Churio in LF, Payne in CF, Lara or Arias in RF. Ragsdale apparently wants to be considered as an option. Tons of active pitchers will be here after Yelich is gone and the new ones too. For this exercise pitchers are harder to project and easier to acquire. As long as you are not giving up a easily projectable top of the rotation ace, the options are many...so how does Arnold et al view Letson? Oh yeah, we also have a few draft classes to make up for top 10 prospects securing an ace for this years team that actually hits and pitches pretty well. So I am ok with some sort of a combination of Josh AdamOutfielder, Ricky Money$, Knoth, Hardin, maybe Letson, or Jett, as I want a push for a RING and not just a summer of entertaining baseball. Josh is not phasing out Jackson, Jett would be nice but we have others in the OF and INF. Hardin will be forgotten like Reese Olsen and others will fill the rotation (looking at you Manuel Rodriguez) and life will go on... But man, o man...go spend some top 10s on Skubal and get a ring. Flags fly forever.

I do this all the time but it is Darrien Miller. That other guy was like 15 years ago...no biggie. I like the guys that you have listed for King, but I don't think that quantity wins this and its a lot for their 40 man (Rule V considerations and all) next year to absorb.

Woo, Lance McC, Gary Sanchez, Shewmake, Bryse, and sadly Jake Bauers won't be back most likely. Rom, Stallings, and Baddoo shouldn't be back. Zastnstry, CGordon, and Perkins seem on the chopping block. AVaughn and TBlack are not without complications. Add to this list trade candidates from the minors and on the 40 man roster currently and I think eventually we will have enough open positions to keep who Arnold and Company want to keep and acquire moving forward. I am not a BWilken or Luke Adams guy but I will say that Luke Adams has done very well in AAA and will most likely be considered for the Jake Bauers slot next year.

This guy has Ryan for Knoth, Gasser, Quero, and BBurke I don't hate it...Minnesota might not like it...but it is what is posted here.

I actually think this is our best possible lineup...for now. I just woke up and tuned in so I'm a little bit late to this party; someone might have already mentioned this.

Jett is the only lock. In the past many fans' picks are simply passed over completely by the Brewers and every other team and re-signed back into the system. Stiven Cruz and Cameron Wagoner could be White Sox or Marlins so they need to be pushed to see if this year's stats are real. Maybe Kuehner as he's a lefty so someone could take a Conner Thomas-like flyer on him but who knows. I will be very happy to see Adams, Boeve, and Wilken re-sign and see if they can fight off Burke, Fischer, and any 2026 draftee. If Tyler Black has no trade value then why would Wilken?

Arnold and Murphy are ready to have a lot of players invigorate this lineup...but not really through trades. Most deadline buyers would turnover around 15% of the roster and I am sure that Arnold and Murphy are ready to do the same...internally. Lockridge returns and platoons with Sal...BP sent to AAA Woo returns and moves Sproat to long relief...Woodford cut CPratt elevated to 26man roster...Rengifo traded/waived and Ortiz and Bunty platoon at 3B. Logan returns, stays healthy and impresses the rest of the year cementing his rotation slot. Koenig returns and sends DL Hall and his walks to AAA Greg Jones, ABaddoo, and/or Matos can be cut if there is a Daniel Norris-esque addition to the 40.

So much fun info to take in here. AVaughn almost has to be on his way out; 10mil is a lot to onboard for what, as of now, seems to be a platoon player at Jake's more natural position. Pratt and Jett may be up soon to take some pressure to fill a void on the left side. The new CBA may mean that Milwaukee finds money to reinvest in vets/pay Made to reach the salary floor. Cameron Wagoner and Stiven Cruz have been playing well enough to add to the 40 next year, but not exciting enough to trade away for proper value; relievers will have to be moved to make way. It has been noted on podcasts that Matt Arnold does not really trade away top prospects...so the wheeling and dealing from the roster has to come from lower prospects or flagging vets. Zerpa is to the 60-day IL soon to free up a roster spot. Trading for Peralta to return would be a great dig at Stearns and a marketing boom for a team that usually trades away heroes. Could be out: AVaughn, Yoho, DL Hall, comp picks (if any), Gasser, JD Thompson, LAdams, Wilken, Carlos Rodriguez are all options. I like it that Reid Detmers makes sense here...LOTS to like. Lower FIP than Soriano and has a 1.143 WHIP and a SO/9 over 10. As noted above, he is not an expiring contract. LAA has no top 30 prospects at 3b (aside from an 18 year old c/3b) and Moncada has not been what they wanted there. Any collection of Wilken and a lefty or two to get it done...but bidding may mean a much bigger package to be sent away. Vaughn could be included to platoon at 1st or take over for Solar at DH. (I am not focusing on exact value of trades, just throwing out players that may fill the roster holes either way) My choice is...Aroldis Chapman...pushes pen leverage down a player and can keep Ashby at the multi-inning lefty role. Uribe and Megill plus Chapman means a non Miz/KHarrison playoff starter needs only go a few innings to get to Patrick or Ashby before the 7th, 8th, 9th innings are gassed out. A collection to BOS including Yoho and Adams might win the bidding war. What will really happen is...a very Brewers trade that no one will like...a 40 man pitcher for an outfielder that does one thing kinda well and is on an expiring contract. Lane Thomas can hit lefties and play all 3 positions. It is going to happen and I am sorry. He is the Daniel Norris or Trevor Rosenthal of field players and I just cannot see us not getting Lockridge back and picking up a utility OF to replace Perkins and it will only cost a McGee or Woodford and possibly an A ball lottery ticket to make room for Wagoner and/or SCruz on next year's 40 man roster.

Oh I am aware...I don't like looking at 3-4 positions being a black hole.
