  1. Not even 2002 was enough to make me drink. I make up for the lack of beer/booze by drinking plenty of milk, the other true Wisconsin drink.
  2. Brewers.com is reporting that as of yesterday half of the draftees have been signed LINK They of course don't say which ones, other than not LaPorta.
  3. Just how many players do the Brewers need to sign to fill in AZ and Helena, and replace the current players who have flamed out? I wonder if they will sign a few more than previously to make up for the lack of the draft and follow.
  4. Does the fact that the HR was close to the line make a difference? Was there a reason for Braun to watch it a little to make sure it didn't hook foul? The bat flip is another matter.
  5. I can't believe I'm the first to say: The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It has to be the perfect example of a likable, but really bad, movie.
  6. Well, the UW Space Place in Madison has it for $2 a packet (free if you go to their Saturday workshops 8 times).
  7. Gross has decided to shut up the BFN posters calling for him to be sent to AAA for a while. I find his argument convincing.
  8. Anyone else think that having the best record in baseball and being 14 games over is a whole lot more fun than the days of making big 500 pictures when the Crew would finally scrape back to even?
  9. Cards pile on some runs at the end to avoid falling behind by 10 games. Hopefully they'll hit double digits soon.
  10. Prince hits more HR's vs righties, so it makes some sense in this game. Pick your poison with Prince.
  11. Bergmann out for a PH after only 79 pitches. I'd not take out a pitcher doing that well in that situation (tie game, no on, 2 out). Time to pound the pen.
  12. It's 1070, not your radio. I get a high pitched tone on top of the signal here at work. I think 1070's signal is powered by a couple of hamsters turning a generator, and one gets nights off.
  13. William the conqueror.
  14. Since you just mentioned signing some Yankees, do you notice any particular difference in negotiations between Cashman and Melvin, or are there any particular GM's that stand out one way or another? Also how do you see the shortening of the time for signing draftees changing the dynamics of the signing process. Thanks for answering our questions, it's great to have a different perspective from within the business, and good luck to your clients.
  15. Hi Josh, just out of curiosity, how would you handle a player like Jose Capellan. To my mind his continued trade demands only hurt his chances to return to the majors as the Brewers will not trade him without getting fair return, and I suspect they will be less likely to call up a player who is mad at the organization. Just to be clear I'm not asking you to comment on Jose, but asking how you as an agent would handle a situation like this.

  17. More importantly, I want to see Vargas keep up the Brewer pitcher momentum.
  18. Sheets dealing, Brewer offense hiding. Looks like they're in mid-season form.
  19. Chickens didn't want Braun to hit 2 in an inning.
  20. I'd say it will depend on Braun. If they decide that Braun needs to be in AAA, then Rottino has a very good chance of making the club.
  21. I really like the way Braun responds to making an error.
  22. Excellent interview Pogokat. One thing that really surprised me was that the organization doesn't give players an idea of what they need to do to move up. For the future interviews, could you put a link to the player index entry for the player near the top. I find it helpful to get a quick overview of the player before reading the interview.
  23. Hey Calibrewer, if you read my post you might notice that I was asking questions not making assertations, other than the fact that the Stars are doing poorly, particularly at the plate. Your first hand accounts are part of what I'm interested in seeing. It sounds like the players haven't quit, and are playing decent defence, which is a good sign for Money. However I would expect hard-hit balls to eventually find gaps, and the umps should suck equally for both sides. I don't expect everyone to be doing great. I would expect some players to be holding their own at the plate. Since the whole team is down, I asked what the cause is. Is it talent, or is it developement, or both?
  24. Should we feel bad for Money, or bad about Money? I know Huntsville doesn't have the top notch prospects, but with so many players playing so poorly, including regression by Crabbe, Heether, etc., I have to wonder just how much of the problem is Money and his staff not making the adjustment to AA.
  25. Fun fact on Yo's game: He struck out every batter he faced exactly once during the game. Just odd to see 11 K's for the pitcher with nobody getting more than one.
