  1. As bad as Magruder has been from the left side, he's been better than Branyan pinch hitting. When healthy, Branyan is a good starter, but he goes from 3TO to 1TO when pinch hitting.
  2. If OPS is the most significant offensive stat, BA should be considered very important as it is a factor in both OBP and SLG. RBI has to be the most overrated as it is only one of those stats listed that is a team stat rather than an individual stat.
  3. Ok the Brewers scored 8, 6, and 12 at Shea and still managed to lose one, and then score 3, 2, and 2 in the Philly band box, but win 2 of 3. I don't get it, but I'll take it.
  4. Medical science has yet to develope a test that can tell the difference without an autopsy. Tied up, heading into manic stage.
  5. So many foul balls I thought Reagan was calling the game.
  6. Ok Rickie, time to wash the stick-em out of your glove.
  7. RB has a balky shoulder, Helms is doing well, Hall is slumping and took a play off the other day. Or Ned could be doing this just to tick off the Branyan loving Helms/Yost hating contingent at BFNet.
  8. And the Brewers are 13-9 over those 22 games. Hot Jenkins = winning Brewers.
  9. Life is just better on days the Brewers beat up on the Cards.
  10. A broken bat prize It cannot be used to bash Bad haiku makers
  11. I like interleague play, but I have to side with Dusty Baker (gasp) on one thing, it's not fair to have the Brewers get 6 games against the Twins, while the Cards get 6 against the Royals. Ok Dusty was talking Cubs/Sox, but the problem is the same. The last thing we need is to give the Cards an extra 2-3 games on the rest of the division.
  12. When a post has many pages of replies, the link to the last page has a stop value set to the current end e.g. start=21&stop=34. To get to the last post of a page, a refresh will not work, a previous page must be clicked to reset the last page link, or the stop must be manually set to 40. I think if the last page link always had a stop of 20 * page number, it would cut down on needless page hits, especially on very active game threads.
  13. It almost did happen. In the 82 ALCS a fan at County Stadium reached over the fence and took a ball away from Oglivie, giving the Angles a grand slam. Fortunately the Brewers won anyway, otherwise that fan would be hated to this day. I don't dislike the Cubs or their fans as I lived in Illinois during the 80's (Brewers were AL, payrolls were reasonable, Cubs were lovable losers). Besides Cubs fans traditionally hate the Cardnals, so they can't be all bad. Now the White Sox were/are a truely hateble team with low class fans.
