When Does Our Hitting Cause a Change?

I'm starting to agree TC07. The thought of drafting for the offense and figuring out where to play them later is ok once in a while but when it becomes a mantra your defense looks like the 2011 Brewers...and now, the hitters have purchased flimsy bats! -

This team was built on Pitching and Hitting. Several of you have probably noticed that I keep banging the "we need some more defense" drum. Now that the offense has gone in to a funk the horrible defense is even more pronounced. I'm all in favor of trading away some of our "vaunted offensive players" for a few average hitters that carry gold plated gloves. Where would you start? My take: We need to revamp this infield to make all of this pitching worth while. Fielder, McGehee and YuBet should all be on the block (although YuBet probably has no value at all in a trade). Where would everyone else start?

Have I become a favorite for post deletion? Several guys are starting crap and I call them out on it and my posts get deleted...while their attack posts are allowed. Doesn't seem right guys.

Yep, all hitting and no D does not make a playoff team. Get Fielder and YuBet off of this team and sub them for average hitting and average defense and we would probably gain several wins. I know, "but Fielder is an offensive God". Yeah, but his defense can be just as "offensive"...

Yeah, I'm guessing that Gallardo goes on the DL with some sort of strain or pull...allowing Estrada to stay.

It sure seems that way. He really needs to be batting 10th (bench) or at worst 7th. Can't wait for Hart to get it cranked back up...

100% agree!! I loved their "10 pointer"! We had the beer sampler, pizza and of course...beer bread. Great food and even better beers!

Counsell just put all of the thunder he had in his bat into that foul ball and it didn't even make it to the outfielder. I wonder if he will voluntarily retire at some point this year?

Honestly, get that greedy, lazy, no glove pile off of the field. He absolutely is killing this defense.

Agree with the "live chicken". Seriously though, make sure to take some sort of anti-inflammatory before and after your game (Ibuprofen works for me). Also, get a refillable soft ice bag to use after the game. Will you feel like an old man the first time you do it? Yes. I have been doing this since I was in my mid twenties because like you, I never went to see a Dr. when I should have. It could be something more than tennis elbow but if you keep the inflammation down (like the rest of the time it doesn't hurt) you will much more comfy.

Ok, another computer problem here. I got an update request for Firefox and without thinking much I accepted it. I then managed to have E-Set downloaded without any other prompts. For those that haven't seen E-Set...WHAT A NIGHTMARE! I managed to get it deleted by going to route of safe mode and deleting the files associated with E-Set. Now though, I cannot open Google Chrome, Firefox, IE (on my work computer right now). I save the Firefox Set-up to an external drive and installed it on said computer without any luck. I keep getting an info box stating "Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe'. Any help here? I'm DYING w/out that computer!

No, the "cardinal sin" is always shooting down everything everybody else says by taking the statistically easy way out (as Invader alluded to). Can't guys get excited for their players w/out constantly being told that their ideas are foolish? I know that some posters can get ahead of themselves but it is pretty lame to see how consistently important and accurate some peoples opinions seem to come off as. Remember, "fan" is short for "fanatic". Let guys have some fun once in a while...
