  1. Looks like the Reds will be 0.5 back when the series begins tomorrow. GL.
  2. Wiemer is a much better defensive center, AND a better hitter than Perkins. Unbelievable.
  3. Matt, you’re missing the obvious choice. Winker can’t hit (OBP, OPS and BA), can’t hit for power (SLG), he can’t run, he can’t throw, and he can’t play the field. Thankfully we have Arnold making these decisions!
  4. Done deal. Tapia was sent down about an hour ago. Wiemer stays in Milwaukee. Yea!
  5. At this point I would currently rank the 4 OFs. 1. Chourio - He is 19 and the youngest player in AA. His power, speed and defense is right on track. He needs to improve his OBP (BA) and will probably begin in AA and then move quickly to AAA in 2024. With a successful run in Nashville he may be called up to the MLB team late 2024, but more likely in 2025. 2. Wiemer - He will have 1 full year of MLB experience, which alone puts him above the other 3. He has exceeded expectations defensively and most likely moved over to RF permanently in his future. I think the Brewer FO planned on him playing in AAA most of this year with a possible call-up sometime this Aug. or Sep. until Mitchell’s injury. With a year under his belt hopefully he can improve his OBP (BA) and SLG. He will likely be a starter on the MLB team in 2024. 3a. Frelick - So far he has had the most disappointing season. With his injury he lost 2 months of very important experience. He most likely would have been called up to the MLB team sometime in May or at the very least early June if he remained healthy. His hitting has been disappointing post-injury and most likely will remain in Nashville the rest of this season, unless injuries or roster turnover occurs over the remainder of this season. His performance during 2024 Spring Training will determine if he starts 2024 with the Brewers or Nashville. 3b. Mitchell - He has lost an entire year in 2023 and his best chance to be a future starter at CF. Questions abound where he will end up as an MLB hitter and whether he can remain healthy for extended periods of time. What we know is he is the best of the 4 defensively and a possible future GG. He probably has the most questions of the 4 and I really don’t have a good idea how his future will turn out; starter or 4th OF.
  6. You couldn’t talk either team into making this trade for obvious reasons. I wouldn’t give up much more than Rea or Teheran, and with Miley injured again trading either one would compromise any depth we have remaining at SP. I also doubt Rea or Teheran would be enough to pry loose Votto and we would need to sweeten the pot with an additional prospect. Also you need to take account of votto’s age and injury history.
  7. I never argued that tiebreakers don’t matter. I was pointing out that you were incorrect in your statement, “Especially last season when that tiebreaker proved to be a huge difference in us missing the postseason.” When the tiebreaker played absolutely role in the Brewers missing the playoffs when the Brewers and Phillies were not tied with the same record.
  8. I don’t think that you have ever admitted that you were wrong about anything on this forum. The only other person I know that is like this once famously stated, “ I just want you to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have.” Very argumentative and needs to always have the last word.
  9. Guess what, the tiebraker didn’t play any role in the Brewers missing the playoffs last year. You know why? Because THERE WASN’T A TIE between the Brewers and the Phillies. The Phillies record was 87-75 and the Brewers record was 86-76. The tiebreaker only works when there is an ACTUAL TIE. Otherwise, without a tie is has absolutely no meaning. You are dealing in speculation, if the Brewers one more game or if the Phillies lost one more game. What is hilarious is that you are dying on a hill, as you put it, on something that never happened. Please stick with the facts, rather than dealing with coming up with an argument that it was why they missed the playoffs. Sort of like, IF the Brewers never traded Hader they would have made the playoffs. You argue one way about the trade and do a 180 about the tiebraker.
  10. However, in REALITY we only won one game on July 15, 2023. So says the standings, not that hard to understand. You do you.
  11. Unbelievable. Chances that may not come to fruition.
  12. Yes. However, it only matters if they tie 69 games from today. Maybe we can discuss this instead of if the Hader trade determined if the Brewers would have made the playoffs in 2022?
  13. Let’s’ face it there is absolutely NO WAY this can be determined or proven. Maybe just stick to reality. IT NEVER HAPPENED. Just a plain stupid argument.
  14. They traded for an All-star catcher Sean Olson (0.392/0.582/0.974)
  15. Isn’t it a little early to pencil Woodruff in the starting rotation before we really see if he’s ready or even able to pitch again on anything that resembles a regular basis in 2023? Rea, Teheran andHouser have done a commendable job of holding the rotation together after the injuries to Woodruff, Ashby and Lauer almost sunk 2023. I would hold off losing any of these 3 pitchers until we absolutely know that Woodruff has any chance of returning to the rotation. There always seems to be plenty of AAAA relief pitcher arms that can be sent down before any of our current charges are lost through the waiver wire and can be used in the bullpen.
  16. It's worse than you thought, it was only 2 pitches. Lol
  17. Yeah, and he has retired 13 of the last 14 batter with zero hits with only 69 pitches. Not much of a saving grace.
  18. Keep on taking that first pitch strike down Broadway.
  19. Gift caused by Brewers inattention or they just don’t cause no one will hold them accountable.
  20. They are an exciting team that looks like the care about winning unlike the Brewers that appears like they are going through the motions. I’m sure CC will not hold anyone accountable and that sends a message to every player on this team that it doesn’t really matter how badly you screw up. CC is just not interested and is already thinking about watching his boys play baseball.
  21. I wouldn’t bet against the Reds to win this division. What a talented and exciting team. A true team of the 21st century.
  22. Professional baseball is still back in the 19th century. Both umpiring and with their financial process(no level field between all teams).
