Can you please explain in more detail how a 0.214/0.303/0.373 (Zavier Warren), “could easily end up a bench play in the majors due to his solid OBP skills, power…” is good, when a 0.303 OBP is terrible and a 0.373 SLG is anything much more than average.

You couldn’t talk either team into making this trade for obvious reasons. I wouldn’t give up much more than Rea or Teheran, and with Miley injured again trading either one would compromise any depth we have remaining at SP. I also doubt Rea or Teheran would be enough to pry loose Votto and we would need to sweeten the pot with an additional prospect. Also you need to take account of votto’s age and injury history.

Isn’t it a little early to pencil Woodruff in the starting rotation before we really see if he’s ready or even able to pitch again on anything that resembles a regular basis in 2023? Rea, Teheran andHouser have done a commendable job of holding the rotation together after the injuries to Woodruff, Ashby and Lauer almost sunk 2023. I would hold off losing any of these 3 pitchers until we absolutely know that Woodruff has any chance of returning to the rotation. There always seems to be plenty of AAAA relief pitcher arms that can be sent down before any of our current charges are lost through the waiver wire and can be used in the bullpen.

The most impressive stat about the Brewers comeback was they did this against a Cubs bullpen that entered Monday with a 1.06 ERA during the previous 17 game since, June 16, the best in the MLB.

Sorry. We are in second place, only 0.5 games behind the Reds and we are only 30 runs within being in the top 10 in the NL in runs scored.

The Don’t look now but the Reds have won 9 in a row and are in first place. On the other hand, the Brewers have scored the fewest runs in the NL.

The Brewer FO has miserably failed in identifying any impact hitters since they drafted Ryan Braun in 2005, that is almost 2 decades ago. Mark needs to invest heavily into multiple big named scouts and FO personal otherwise this team will continue to spin its’ wheels. They are already behind the eight-ball being small market and refusing to spend less than average money bringing talented players to this team.

Most of the “models” also predicted the Cardinals as the division winners and the Pirates to be mired in the basement. I know it is extremely early, and that is the beauty of the MLB, we have over 130 games left of enjoyment to find out.

I think it is hilarious when posters say they are wasting Burnes and Woodruff, when Woody hasn’t pitched in weeks and will not for many more weeks. The Brewers are what most rational people thought they were, actually even better, a 0.500 team with < a 1% chance of winning a World Series. Expectations were/are much too high among most fans. I would suggest that you would enjoy each game individually and lower your expectations accordingly. At least that way you can lower your stress level and enjoy baseball.

If that’s the case, they better pick a highly ranked OT with their 1st round pick. I sure hope there will be someone worthwhile to pick at #22. I don’t think so!!!
