  1. Come on. The guy does have a five game hitting streak!
  2. True. I'm guess I'm just of the opinion that there is more (and will always be) more variability in the mlb playoffs as opposed to say, the nba playoffs.
  3. Well, at least Yelich still knows how to draw a good walk!
  4. Thankfully, the postseason is pretty much a crapshoot these days. Just get in and you have a chance. But more offense would of course be welcome.
  5. Y Yeah. I view Tellez as sort of a 2018 Aguilar at this point. Obviously, it's very early in the season and much can change, but he's been strong in about half a season's worth of at-bats with the Brewers.
  6. Good thing stats mean squat at this time of year. I, for one, will never lose sleep over "losing" these two. I'm actually feeling weirdly confident that we will score a good # of runs in this series.
  7. Of course nothing is guaranteed. But there are also people on this site that are saying the opposite as a matter of fact. We don’t know anything about the 2022 brewers right now, but last year does provide us a pretty good reason to take the optimistic side. So, let’s just let the season play out for a while before we arrive at any grand conclusions.
  8. Okay, but narvaez, believe it or not, was even better on that end than pina last year. And caratini is certainly no slouch either. It’s a slower start than we all wanted, no doubt, but it’s ten bleeping games, and we’re 5-5 and only a game out of first. To me, the fact that we were able to split with the cardinals given how poorly we’re playing relative to our proven capabilities is a positive. Let’s just take a deep breath, and let the season develop before we make any grand pronouncements.
  9. Below average defense??? This team had one of the best defenses in the majors last year, and the only real loss on that end was jbj, whose defensive capabilities were matched by Cain and Taylor anyways. They may not be at the cardinals level, but this is a team that is built on pitching and defense, both of which are elite. The offense, now that’s a different story, and a move or two will probably have to be made. But I hope for your sake that you step off the ledge and just let the season play out. This is still the same team that handily won the central last year.
  10. Yeah. I think everyone here pretty much agrees that, unless there is marked internal improvement (i.e., Yelich, Hiura), Stearns is going to have to add in-season to make our offense World Series-caliber to match our pitching. I think the time may be ripe to sacrifice some of our improved farm talent to achieve this. Obviously, Conforto would be a much welcome addition, too.
  11. I'll tell you what, Gott looks like another Stearns bullpen find. Now, is one single run too much to ask?!
  12. Wow. Arenado really is magic with the glove. Made that play look routine.
  13. Not that the batting order means much anyways, but don't know why Counsell decided to move Wong down in the order against lefties. He's a good tablesetter, and his splits aren't that extreme.
  14. Quick ground ball outs from Houser. Just the way it should be!
  15. You're probably right. I am really starting to become a believer, though. AA was always going to be the stop to watch with him, and so far so good.
  16. Touché. I will take all the heat if Daniel Vogelbach and Ben Gamel go berserk against us.
  17. Love to see it. Anybody think there is a chance we could see him later this year if he keeps up this trajectory? Maybe a bench bat in a pennant race?
  18. With a Rockies win tonight and assuming the top of the ninth goes smoothly, the Brewers would be in a tie for first place (in the win column). Amazing how quickly things can change in April. Almost like people shouldn't have been wetting their pants on Monday. Hopefully we can get two more this weekend, and we'll be in good shape to grab some momentum heading into a series against the Pirates.
  19. *In the regular season. But yeah, otherwise nothing's changed.
  20. My bad. Should have been in blue. Long time lurker, but that post really got my goat.
