  1. Atta boy Lauer! God, I love this pitching staff.
  2. In the offseason? Sure. During the season? No. That Burnes-Woody combo is the biggest reason why we are among the favorites in the NL...
  3. If we're talking IN-SEASON, I would be more inclined to trade Lauer. Also, our top two young pitchers are lefties themselves. Is three lefties in one rotation too much? Probably not, but something to take into account.
  4. Agreed. Might be something to consider given that we have two talented young lefties waiting in the wings.
  5. I wonder what kind of bat we could get for Lauer right now....
  6. Posted this in the minor league thread, but figure it might be worth a discussion here, too. Could be time to call up Turang soon, particularly if Peterson continues his struggles at the plate to start the season. He's getting to the point where he's had more than enough AAA at-bats and could prove to be a valuable left-handed hitting utility piece for this team with his ability to play CF, as well, if they think Cain has completely lost it at the plate. Unless, of course, they want to use him as bait for an even bigger fish. Bottom line is we have some real options to improve this offense going forward...
  7. Again, I say it might be time to bring up Turang soon, particularly if Peterson continues his struggles at the plate to start the season. He's getting to the point where he's had more than enough AAA at-bats and could prove to be a valuable utility piece for this team with his ability to play CF, as well, if they think Cain has completely lost it. Unless, of course, they want to use him as bait for an even bigger fish...
  8. He should embrace it, and quit automatically inserting McCutchen into the lineup against righties. Then, we might actually have something going at the DH spot. Of course, I say this, and McCutchen will probably hit a lead-off home run tonight....
  9. You can cross Conforto off the list. Out for the year after shoulder surgery.
  10. Nice win! Definitely wasn't expected after the start we had. Sunday Night Baseball next! Can somebody please tell me the last time we won on Sunday Night Baseball? Have we ever won on Sunday Night Baseball?
  11. I tell you what, Renfroe CAN BE a #6 hitter on a World Series team. What we lack right now is an additional top of the order hitter.
  12. Not ready for the incoming heart attack in the bottom of the eighth
  13. He looks out. Love the aggressiveness on the bases, though.
  14. As we saw last night, these extra runs can wind up being quite important.
  15. IF the Brewers offense can avoid being utterly incompetent, we should win quite a few games yet again this summer.
  16. And then he tries to make that catch instead of renfroe. That run doesn't score if renfroe takes it.
