  1. You do realize just because they have "team record payrolls", doesn't give them a pass. In other words, a team record payroll still doesn't make it "large". It can be still be bigger.
  2. LMAO at you defending the club once again and actually thinking an $8.25 million and $7.65 million salaries are "large".
  3. Anything they can do to slash salary in some way, they will. Typical Mark A. Make a real trade for once, for a guy(s) making real money. I know, oh the horror! Can't do that, can we? Guys like this have NO business being on a major league roster of a real baseball team that actually spends some(any) money.
  4. According to Bob Nightengale, the Brewers are keeping a close eye on Mike Shildt, if he doesn't get hired by SD The Milwaukee Brewers, who are strongly considering promoting bench coach Pat Murphy, also have their eyes on Mike Shildt if he’s not hired by the San Diego Padres. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/columnist/bob-nightengale/2023/11/12/gm-meetings-craig-counsell-shohei-ohtani-trade-rumors/71548373007/
  5. We don't really know because we haven't truly seen the huge shopping spree Mark A that he originally wanted to be because Stearns intervened(I will forever hate Stearns for that BTW) it's Mark A's team, he can do what he wants.
  6. It's not going to matter one iota who the manager is if the owner isn't going to spend any money to improve the roster. That's just a fact. You know, I would like the original owner Mark A back. If you remember, when he first bought the team, he wanted to go on FA shopping sprees etc and Stearns talked him down. I remember distinctly many people here lamenting that he was "meddling" because he wanted to spend big in FA. What happened to that Mark A? Bring him back!
  7. Okay now I am 100% convinced you're a member of the Brewers organization. Because the next time you say something with even a hint of negativity towards the organization will be the first. It sure seems you think they can do no wrong ever and you're always "no big deal" when they don't offer huge contracts etc because you get fed the ******** they spew(and eat it up) that "this is all we can do, small market wahhh wahh wahh". It's nauseating to be quite honest
  8. Is anyone surprised that this is just another penny pinching move by the Brewers? If you aren't willing to pick up $11.5 million on an option for Canha, to me that speaks volumes. Going to be another season of going cheap for the Crew obviously. Wait for all the 1 year FA deals that will be incoming. Also, whenever they make a deal like this(acquire a minor leaguer) why do they always insist on getting Pitching back? How about just once getting for a decent, potentially higher upside bat back?

  10. This whole series is on Craig... Last night 5th inning, bases loaded nobody out, HUGE situation, all you need is contact and he lets f'n Turang hit(I was screaming for a PH, preferably Miller, he at least makes Contact), now, he has the lefty destroying Perkins(plus other righties) on the bench bases loaded one out and lets Frelick face a lefty. Dumbest managing of all time.
  11. Why the hell is Frelick facing a lefty? Perkins destroys LH pitching. JFC craig
  12. I get tired of saying this repeatedly, but they are able to pay for hitting, they just choose not to. It's that simple. The Bucks are the smallest market in the NBA and yet are willing to go over the double tax apron to try to win titles. Don't tell me the Brewers can't spend more money if they choose to. Anyway, ya'll enjoy the off season when they sign a bunch of washed up 1 year deals for hitting thinking it's going to help. I'm done with the hope and the "just get to the playoffs" mentality.
  13. I know no one cares but I made the decision that after last night, if this team doesn't change it's philosophy on acquiring hitting in the off season, I'm done being a Brewers fan, which hurts because I have been for 45+ years. But doing the same thing over and over and over again is insanity, and yet they keep doing it. I've had enough.
  14. The dude just cannot handle adversity. never has. He's fine if he's cruising, but the minute something goes wrong, he falls apart.
  15. Can't wait to see what washed up, hoping for a revival, one year deal hitter they sign next off season. That ought to fix the offense, right?
  16. This is exactly why I wanted NO part of the Dbacks. Just a terrible match up for the Brewers. I had no fear of the Marlins. makes you wonder if Arizona purposely played to get the matchup with the Brewers, during their last series. Until this team/organization changes their philosophy and actually decides to be bold and spend $$ on middle of the order bat(s) in FA, it's always going to be like this in the post season. Run prevention ain't **** in the playoffs when you can't score.
  17. I'm calling my shot now...Donaldson hits a bomb this inning. Whether it will be a go ahead HR or game tying HR I'm not sure, but either way, he's hitting a bomb.
  18. Exactly why Counsell needed to PH for Turang there. Letting him hit, you conceded an out, and then a DP gets them out of the inning. Not a conventional DP mind you but still. All you needed to do was to put someone in to PH that could hit a fly ball or draw a walk, or hell even make contact. I would have had confidence in anyone of the bench guys doing that(except Weimer). Great job Counsell. I sure as hell had no confidence in Turang doing that.
  19. So Counsell has a 6 player bench, bases loaded in a very key situation, if you aren't going to use your guys like Winker in situations like these, why even bother?? That was a clear PH situation. Idc if it was Turang(lefty) vs a Righty pitcher. If they don't tie the game here, this one is on Counsell. Period.
  20. Well to be fair, I remember how excited many here were about Turang and Weimer being up this year. Thought they would be really good. How has that turned out? Then when people finally realized they can't hit(that should have been obvious from day 1), they quickly turned on them. My point is, you can't expect a rookie(s) to be the answer, not if you consider yourself a legit World series contender. Maybe Black would be great, but odds are he'd likely struggle just like all the kids have this year. Then people would complain about that. I guess I just don't like people whining all damn year about how this team can't hit(they can't) and then also support their approach to signing 1 year reclamation(hoping to catch lightning in a bottle) bats they sign every year. You don't get to have it both ways.
  21. The answer is NOT Tyler Black(not solely). The answer is, was and always will be to sign some damn legitimate bats in Free agency. No more of this 1 year deal BS on reclamation projects. Go big or don't worry about ever witnessing a WS win in the next 20 years. They continually neglect legit hitting. That's on them.
  22. Your absolute infatuation with Tyler Black is something. He's NOT coming up this year, or likely even next year, so give it a rest.
  23. I'm sorry, this is an unpopular take but Counsell is an idiot, and has managed games idiotically this year. That is the biggest no brainer PH situation in the history of PH situations. You bring in Rowdy, they bring a lefty, so be it. Anderson can go to the OF defensively.
