  1. I've seen the "change of scenery brings back the success of the past" theory work many times before. I'm not saying it's definite, but Doug wants to get to the dang playoffs. I don't blame him.
  2. I stopped doubting Doug a while ago. I figure if he traded Inman, there was something about him that made Doug feel he was expendable.
  3. Is it bad etiquette to wear a 3rd party jersey to a game, in this case a Brewers jersey? No. That's a personal choice that does not affect anyone's abilit to enjoy the game. Bad etiquette would be to constantly brag that the Brewers are better than both of those teams.
  4. I've gotten so many compliments for ducking during a pitch while walking down the aisle. That's only because it is rare. It should not be complimented, it should be the norm.
  5. I don't think Brewer fans have the ability to curse the Cubs. Only he Cubs can curse themselves. Bartman (Cub fan), the goat (Cubs brought on themselves), Lou Brock (Cubs willingly traded him), Dusty, Brown, Wood, Prior (all Cubs). But here goes: http://www.reversethecurse.com/images/santo-shea.jpg
  6. Yeah, I think Blue Oyster Cult is alright.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  7. This year is "the year?" Why? Because I've waited patiently for 15 years to say that with a straight face. Calling next year "the year" is a Cubs tradition.
  8. I'm a huge Rickey fan. He loves the game as much as any player I've seen in my lifetime. Reporter: Why do you want to try and get back to playing baseball after all you've accomplished? Isn't your legacy firmly in place? Rickey: A lot of major leaguers retire and play golf. Well, I don't play golf. I play baseball.
  9. Miguel Cabrera is one to watch IMO.
  10. Hey JoeHova, this is a total non-sequitor, but did Wilbon really say that? I've been racking my mind trying to figure out what he could have possibly been trying to say. Shouldn't journalists know what words mean? Or was he really trying to suggest that few people understand what it means to lead the league in OBP?
  11. At that point, Ned is furious and decides to let Chris work his way out of the inning since the lead is already gone. I lost you on this sentence right here.
  12. Would have been interesting if Elton John would have been Reggie White (his real name) I have a friend named Dave Jones who's a musician. I've been trying to get him to use the name "Bowie Jones" as the ultimate acknowledgement of having a sense of humor.
  13. If you had to rank these pitchers in order in terms of fantasy value for the rest of the year (strikeouts do not help in this league), how would you do it? I'm faced with thiese choices tomorrow night in a reserve draft: Jeremy Guthrie Balt Jeff Weaver Sea (look at last 6 starts) Chris Carpenter StL (2nd rehab start today) Wandy Rodriguez Hou Homer Bailey Cin Brian Bannister KC Andrew Miller Det Dustin McGowan Tor
  14. Possibly- I've always considered the pronunciation wang to have phallic implications, but I suppose wong might as well. I've just always replaced the "w" with a different consonant.
  15. Sorry, but I can't say "Tiger Wang" with a straight face. Which probably means you're pronouncing Wang wrong (pronounced Wong)
  16. When he started acting, Jon Voight is a terrible actor to begin with. Midnight Cowboy? Deliverance? Coming Home? Come on, he's had his moments.
  17. The best thing about baseball in my opinion is the long 6 month 162 game season I would like baseball a lot better right now if it was an 88 game season.
  18. I am incensed!!!!! I've been screaming at the TV since Zimmerman went deep. That HR should have been his last pitch. What is Ned doing??!!! We have four days off!!!!! Use everybody!
  19. I can't imagine that we will face a lineup with a lower batting average than this one: Logan .224 Jimenez .059 Zimmerman .251 Kearns .249 Batista .211 Lopez .239 Church .261 Flores .232 Redding .000
  20. What, does Jenkins need a day to rest in order to prepare for the four consecutive days of rest?
  21. Regression to the mean is just as likely to happen with guys who have been playing poorly as it is to guys who are playing well. Which would make it the opposite of regression.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. I'm clinging to extreme hope that it does not reach to page 90 this season. There seems to be approximately one page added per loss nowadays, so you can do the math. I'm not sure losses that may occur after a potential clinching of a playoff birth would count, but it's a little more than one page for bullpen flare ups. Losing streaks add eight to ten pages, which is really what adds bulk to the thread.
  23. Ouch. My retinas (retinae?) are in pain. I can't believe the Nats keep putting Langerhans in the leadoff spot. I'd like to send them a thank you note.
  24. one of the worst defenisve outfielders the Brewers have ever had And El Caballo. Yes, he made a huge play against St. Louis (Cincy?) and may not have had a ghastly amount of errors. But man, all those bloop hits he never got to.
  25. With Hall out: 1. Hart 2. Hardy 3. Fielder 4. Braun 5. Jenkins 6. Estrada 7. Mench/Gross 8. Weeks
