  1. Not saying anything is wrong with the comments. Just saying it's bizarre that after making these comments last night that he moved Chourio back to the 2 hole after going 0-4 with 4 pretty awful strikeouts.
  2. There were quite a few. "It's perspective. Hey Jackson, look around. If you're going to hit in the middle of the order - he's done great, and this kid is not, quote, at his best an still putting up some pretty impressive figures, hitting balls hard - you've got to meet the game halfway" "You have a guy who can spot the baseball and scoot it over this much and make you swing at it every time, fly out to right, that's too simple. He's better than that. And he's got to see that. And maybe hitting a little lower will take the pressure off a little" "Trying to get him to understand the ball-strike thing a little better. When you're hitting in the top of the order and you're swinging at almost every pitch, it makes it hard to run in front of him. I'm not saying don't swing when it's a strike, but when you're leaving the zone, then that's it's hard to get your offense going" "When you're behind in the game, you can't leave the zone. Everybody comes into it saying 'Hey, we just don't have to throw him strikes, go above and go away and soft down'" "We saw some of this early last year, and he came out of it. So, hopefully he will. I don't know if he takes it too personal. He's a young man. We'll get it straightened out"
  3. His underlying data at AAA is pretty poor. I'd guess they think he has no chance against MLB pitching. For reference he has a 28% hard hit rate and 0% barrel rate this year.
  4. So Chourio is back in the 2 hole tonight after being moved to the 6 hole last night and having his second worst game of the season...just bizarre especially taking into consideration Murphy's comments. Who the heck is making the lineups for this team??
  5. Aidan Maldonado pitching for the first time in nearly 3 weeks and has thrown back to back 5 pitch walks.
  6. I’d be flabbergasted if it’s a shoulder or wrist thing. You could see his right pinky bend way to the side when he was sliding into 2B. A broken/dislocated finger would fit the reaction so much more than a shoulder/wrist injury because with a shoulder/wrist injury there likely would have been so much pain that he wouldn’t have celebrated before calling for the trainer.
  7. Hey do you have any news on Hayden Robinson? I feel like most just assumed he wouldn't have pitched in the ACL this year after a late June/early July TJ surgery, but Longenhagen said in his prospect write-up that Robinson is slated to return to game action soon.
  8. Al Laboeuf should be on the hot seat. This is abysmal. Chourio looks worse than he ever did last year and he looked really bad the first two months last season.
  9. He broke his pinky on the slide into 2B. Could clearly see it on the replay. What a bummer especially considering it was the first time they moved him to 3B this year.
  10. You don't need command to get whiffs especially at the minor league level. This is a guy who is a basically a consensus Top 15/20 prospect in our system by the industry but in 80+ innings at AA he has an 18% K-rate and a whiff rate under 25% and it goes beyond the whiffs. Watching most of his starts he just rarely seems to have uncomfortable swings against him. Just feels like his prospect ranking is more about what they want him to be and not what he is.
  11. Maybe this is a hot take and it is a bit more negative, but I just don't get the hype with Wichrowski. I think there's a good pitcher in there but for someone who is lauded for having such good stuff he just doesn't get swing and miss or strikeouts at the AA level.
  12. Nice outing by DeBerry. 4 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 SO. He stranded a 1 out double with two strikeouts in the 4th inning. The 4 innings and 54 pitches are both pro highs for DeBerry as he continues to stretch out after a delayed start to the year. Bjorn Johnson will enter in the 5th. I imagine the hope is for him to go 3-4 innings as well.
  13. Minor League Sweep Day! Think that might be the first of the year!
  14. Quero caught 1 of his 2 rehab games coming into tonight. I think it was the first one where he caught 3 innings.
  15. I'd love to know the FB shape and velo of Bryan Rivera's FB because he seems to get pretty consistent whiffs with that pitch.
  16. Ah the 2024 Detroit Tigers method
  17. I thought this was really notable. Longenhagen said Hayden Robinson is slated to be back in game action soon. I thought it was weird maybe even a mistake when Robinson was listed on the ACL Brewers 7-day IL and not on the 60-day or full-season IL. Maybe he's actually going to be pitching here soon?
  18. I definitely think he should be making his next start for the Brewers. Set him to debut at home against the Orioles on Wednesday like you said. Brewers currently have an open 40-man spot.
  19. And we are TBD on if Meccage is actually going to pitch this week considering he isn't listed as a starter and didn't start in his original spot.
  20. Misiorowski did something that's never been done in the pitch tracking era. SP hitting 103 in the 6th or later.
  21. I don't always agree with Longenhagen's evals but honestly the only thing I don't like is that because he's so thorough with his prospect reviews you really only get the 1 time a year update (outside of his Top 100ish) By the end of the season a lot of the stuff can begin to feel dated.
  22. I've been underwhelemed with Yoho's 2025. His command has really taken a step back this year. Just really battling the feel for his pitches and as a guy who throws a really soft changeup/curveball feel is so important.
  23. Oh and he's coming back out for the 7th inning for the 2nd start in a row.
