    And the underlying numbers have been horrific for 3 months. Unless he finds his early season form between now and the playoffs, hard to justify keeping him in a playoff lineup especially with his bad 1B defense

    Honestly think I'd rather Bauers start getting the starts at 1B against RHP. Hoskins underlying numbers are so poor.

    Getting some insurance runs would be nice. I really don't want a scenario where Yastrzemski gets on and Estrada is up as the tying run considering he's 2-2 with 2 HR in his career against Devin.

    If the plan isn't use good RP today so they are available for the double header on Friday then I have no clue what this bullpen management from Murphy was today. Have Wilson or Ashby pitch tomorrow regardless of leverage and then DFA/IL Wilson and/or option Ashby for the doubleheader I guess? If that's the plan it makes some sense although I still think Wilson could have pitched the 8th and been available to go multiple innings tomorrow.

    Bringing in Payamps with the 2 guys who had extremely hard contact off him yesterday due up is hilarious managing.

    I'm actually terrified Murphy is going to run all of our LHP into the ground before the playoffs. He loves using our good LHP even in non-leverage situations. Like why are we using Koenig up 4 runs in the 8th inning when Wilson hasn't pitched in 4 days and Koenig pitched yesterday?

    Again the rule is basically irrelevant. If you're in the org before 8/31 you will be playoff eligible. That's all that matters.

    Freddy didn't have his best stuff, but feel like through 5.2 IP that was the best he's pitched this season. Just felt like he had good feel for all 3 of his secondaries and for the most part located them really well.

    Before the Fitzgerald AB I was about to make a comment about Peralta being on 7 IP watch and now he might not even get through 6 lol

    That rule is basically never enforced in real life as strict as the rule reads.

    I was curious what players in AAA have fared best against 95+mph pitches and yeah I was already lower on Hicklen than most and now I might be even lower. Hicklen - .241 xwOBA, 38% whiff rate Another really bad one is unfortunately Wes Clarke Clarke - .189 xwOBA, 49% whiff rate

    He will get a solid raise. A bad year isn't going to hurt the steady increase in the arb process because the arb process looks at your career not your most recent season. For his career he has a 3.18 ERA, 3.12 FIP and 84 saves.

    Lame comparison considering that happened because of head to head games which the Brewers and Cubs have none remaining

    Let's say the Brewers just have an absolutely dreadful end to the season going 10-21 to finish 85-77. The Cubs would need to finish 18-10 to pass the Brewers. If the Brewers just manage to play 15-16 over the final 31 games they would finish 90-72 which would require the Cubs to go 23-5 to pass the Brewers. Even in the midst of this Cubs hot streak they are still 5 games back of the final WC spot having actually lost a game of ground on the Braves over the last 10 games.

    He has always been somewhat limited in the power department, but numbers like these in AAA are really concerning for a bat first prospect.

    Honestly I'd just say year. Just not the year we were all hoping Black would have. While his AAA numbers are pretty good, the underlying numbers have been pretty ugly. 85.6 Avg EV 31.3% Hard hit rate 6.7% Barrel rate Those are just not ideal numbers for a bat first prospect in AAA.

    Pratt has also not played since Friday so probably need to start wondering about him as well.

    Is it really a weak Braves team when they would be starting the NL Cy Young, the NL ERA leader, and Max Fried in the series? Not to mention by the playoffs, Austin Riley and Ozzie Albies could both be back which could leave this as a potential lineup. 1. Soler - RF 2. Albies - 2B 3. Ozuna - DH 4. Olson - 1B 5. Riley - 3B 6. Harris - CF 7. Murphy/d'Arnaud - C 8. Kelenic - LF 9. Arcia - SS

    Honestly I just want the 2 seed really bad. None of the WC teams look like fun. Padres might be the best team in the NL on paper. Diamondbacks are extremely well rounded and getting healthier by the day. Braves have some very good front end SP and a lineup that can hit HR for fun when they are hot. Really I just don’t want another 2 game playoff run. Please at least get us to a best of 5.
