  1. Misiorowski, Quero, Black, Wilken is a fine Top 4 prospects, but really nothing super impressive especially because they are stagnant mostly. Misiorowski hasn't shown any improvement of his command. Quero is out for the year so he will be passed by players breaking out, and Black has moved further down the defensive spectrum since the start of the season as a now full time 1B. Wilken had a bunch of prospect helium coming into the season, but really hasn't continued that growth partially due to injury. There was lots of hype coming into the season for guys like Lara, Yophery, Pratt, Bitonti to really breakout and find their way onto or near the fringes of the Top 100 list. So far none of them are flashing Top 100 prospect breakthrough. The system for bats just feels very stagnant this year outside of Boeve breaking out although he has started to cool off in the month of May with his OPS down to .738 after the double header today. Development isn't linear so there is still time for players to take steps this year, but the early returns outside of Boeve are lackluster.
  2. Owen Miller has never hit LHP in his career. I'd take Turang over Miller every day of the week in that situation. Hader when he pitches to LHH likes to pound the upper outside part of the plate with FB then throw breaking balls off that FB. That sets up nicely for Turang who likes to shoot line drives to LF. He isn't going to try and overpower Hader and pull the ball. He will take the ball where it's pitched and send it to LF.
  3. For as exciting as the pitching has been in the system this year, I feel like the hitting has been oppositely underwhelming. Injuries have certainly played a part, but we aren't seeing many breakthroughs with the bat so far this year. Will be very interesting to see where the farm system ranks come midseason re-rankings. Feel like I wouldn't be surprised if we fall to the bottom half of the teens with Chourio and Gasser potentially graduating.
  4. Was Biloxi no hit earlier this year? I know it happened to one of the teams, but can't remember which one
  5. I wonder where Osbriel Mogollon actually is. He pitched in Carolina last night according to the box score but we have no way to verify because no audio/video and the ACL box score says he's pitching for the ACL Brewers today which also doesn't have audio/video. Who is the real Osbriel Mogollon?
  6. Chourio struck out in his first AB, so you must have it mixed up with something else. Maybe Contreras first AB?
  7. Yeah his command was so much better today through the first 4 innings. Seemed like he was running out of gas in the 5th and 6th and looked more like the guy in his first start.
  8. First game of a rehab stint not playing a full 9 seems pretty normal.
  9. Black and Hicklen were both scratched so it wasn't just Black
  10. Did I miss Ernesto Martinez Jr getting hurt?
  11. Looks like Nicasia got injured in the OF. Hopefully it wasn't a bad wall crash like Mendez in 2022.
  12. Could be an ump injury. Foul ball off the ump.
  13. Though this seems to be a lengthy injury delay. This is why having even a radio feed would be nice by Down East doesn't even have that.
  14. Whenever I see an injury delay after a foul ball I assume it's from a foul ball off the foot/ankle/knee.
  15. Brewer Hicklen was late scratched as well.
  16. Tyler Black late scratched from the Sounds lineup. I don't believe he's eligible to be recalled until 5/18 so hopefully this isn't something injury related.
  17. Cooper Pratt hits a HR and we don't get to see it because stupid Down East don't have a camera
  18. Even saying they will probably make it is a reach. Devanney has been a smack average AAA guy for over a year now. Brady has put up solid numbers in the minors but he doesn't strike many hitters out.
  19. Feels like you're exaggerating what we gave up for Clarke. We traded Cam Devanney who best case scenario is a bench IF in the MLB and Ryan Brady whose likely best case scenario is a middle reliever in the MLB. These are very low level prospects that we gave up to get Clarke.
  20. I think it's pretty safe to rule out a reunion. Lauer's velo is down from where it was last year and he has not been good in AAA. He opted out in hope of getting a major league deal somewhere I would imagine, and I don't see how he's an upgrade over our current rotation options in Freddy, Rea, Wilson, Ross, Gasser, Myers and Hall off the IL in the next few weeks.
  21. I doubt it will be that quick. His velo is down like 2 mph from last year.
  22. Where did you get those numbers? Honestly when an ump is that bad and one sided it’s hard to believe it’s just random.
  23. Washington calling for a suicide squeeze against a super wild pitcher was way worse than the attempt. Hey go up there and suicide squeeze against a pitcher who can't throw a strike to save his life then I will double down and lie and say the pitcher was throwing strikes.
  24. Miller seems to have seriously improved his arm this offseason.
  25. Did anyone else see Ron Washington's embarrassing press conference last night? Angels are a laughing stock of a franchise
