  1. LMAO. Gasser and Ruiz (who turned into Contreras and Payamps) is now a subpar return for 1.5 seasons of a 1-inning reliever.
  2. People can keep saying this but the top 3 of the rotation have been either extremely injured or extremely underperforming in the last 2 seasons.
  3. No chance Burnes goes 9 innings but this 1-0 prediction is looking pretty realistic.
  4. Burnes is a great thrower of the ball. He has electric stuff but he's just not currently a good pitcher. He's made zero adjustments to how he pitches in 3 seasons despite the results continuing to get worse. Last 145 IP he has a 95 ERA- and 96 FIP- despite having elite stuff for a SP.
  5. Going to suck for you when Burnes pitches 9 innings of 1 run ball and we lose 1-0 lol
  6. What addition should they have made? Toro is worse defensively and has hit worse than Monasterio this year and Alvarez is in the middle of a huge slump.
  7. He's been horrible in May with a 33 wRC+ and 36% K-rate.
  8. I wanted to complain about it but this lineup is just really bad lol. Winker - 66 wRC+ (54 wRC+ in May) Tyrone - 32 wRC+ (all in May) Turang - 62 wRC+ (66 wRC+ in May) Caratini - 79 wRC+ (2 wRC+ in May) Wiemer - 63 wRC+ (28 wRC+ in May) None of those guys deserve to be hitting anywhere but the bottom third.
  9. That's a horrifying lineup to look at. Somehow they will probably put up like 5 runs against Webb though.
  10. Andruw Monasterio was added to the 40-man and called up to replace Adames and he has experience playing SS.
  11. Why would Darin Ruf be DFA'd? He has a 103 wRC+ for us and that's with some horrible batted ball luck. Plus he smashes LHP. Keston is hurt and Alvarez has a 33% wRC+ in May with a 36% K-rate. Why is Suter even mentioned in the same sentence as SP? He's pitched 4+ innings 1 time since the start of 2019. Chase Anderson...? Just why? What does Chase Anderson offer that Rea and Teheran don't?
  12. Yeah he was bad in the first 2 innings. I’m guessing Willy getting smashed in the face with a baseball probably didn’t have him mentally in a right spot in the 3rd inning but even before that 3rd inning it was trending towards a bad night for Freddy.
  13. I messaged @Smichaelis9 the pitch before the walkoff, how about a Chourio walk off here...and bang!
  14. JACKSON CHOURIO WALK OFF BOMB!!!
  15. I thought for sure that was an easy run and then he released the ball and my jaw literally dropped.
  16. Lamar Sparks has an absolute cannon my goodness...
  17. Well that's just silly. Clear error by Miller and Freddy had a guy in a run down but threw it away. I guess they can't assume the out on the Freddy play so that's why some of the runs were earned?
  18. All of those runs in the 3rd were unearned so no harm to the ERA tonight.
  19. Henderson with some of that Robert Gasser batted ball luck from last night there.
  20. Logan Henderson definitely is an aesthetically pleasing pitcher to watch. I feel like he could fly through the system if the injuries are behind him. He has the stuff and command that can dominate the lower levels.
  21. Excited to watch Logan Henderson today. He was brilliant in his last start and I hope he's finally put the injuries behind him.
  22. Yeah I’ve been pleased with Arnold’s timely moves. He traded for Guerra but DFA’d him. Varland Rule 5 pick, DFA’d. I’m hoping the trend continues with Jesse Winker soon. I think being willing to admit when you made a mistake as a GM is a great characteristic to have.
  23. I didn't complain about that here but I did elsewhere. It pissed me off. Ruf nearly hits a HR in his first AB and then CC pinch hits the walking corpse that is Jesse Winker for him? Winker predictably did absolutely nothing in his 3 AB. He honestly looks more washed than LoCain did last year by my eye. Cain couldn't hit anymore but still was a great defensive OF until his last inning. Winker can't hit, can't run, can't field. His only asset is the ability to draw a walk...which will probably fade when pitchers realize he can't hit the ball and just start attacking him. At this point, I think I would rather see Big Jon Singleton called up from AAA to run a DH platoon with Ruf than to see Jesse Winker take another AB.
  24. Here is a chart I made to show how unlucky Gasser's batted ball luck was. These BA numbers were taken from 2023 chart on savant for hit numbers on EV/LA combos. Gasser had 5 hits (2 of which were doubles) on balls that have a BA below .200 in the MLB this year. His over BA against was .417 compared to an estimated BA of .246. Just severely unlucky for him today.
