  1. I also feel like he looks bigger. Which is interesting because I didn’t notice it in ST but his shoulders seem bigger watching today
  2. Is calling a poster childish something a moderator should do? Your message would have been the exact same if you cut out the first sentence, but you as a "moderator" felt the need to call someone a child? I think you could read your own message back "You can still respond diplomatically while still conveying your point." and respond more diplomatically while still conveying your point next time.
  3. Ohtani's value is $60M with 150 games to go in the season. His trade value will be much smaller come the trade deadline when there are only 60 games left before he becomes a FA.
  4. Slashing .219/.324/.313 for a 92 wRC+ with 1 SB and slightly above average CF defense. On pace for about a 1.5 fWAR season in 550 PA
  5. You started the condescension with this comment. "I keep trying to find where I am defending the ump...but I will keep looking for you." If you don't want me to be condescending towards you then all you have to do is not initiate the condescension.
  6. If you can't see that you've been backing up the ump since the game thread last night then I don't know how to help you buddy. Every single comment you've been trying to diminish the ump's impact on the game when his impact was staggering even just based on an umpire scorecard before factoring in any additional context.
  7. There was a wild pitch in the Voit AB. That's a run right there. Also you're in here once again defending the ump when his calls gifted the Diamondbacks a 1.5 expected run advantage against lmao.
  8. What’s worse is it wasn’t consistent. Miley put two cutters just off the inside corner against Marte where Gallen was getting strikes all game and the ump didn’t call either of them strikes. Christian Walker hit a 2-out, 2-run HR later that inning. That HR doesn’t happen if Miley got the same extra 2-3 inches off the inside edge against RHH that Gallen got.
  9. Yeah rough day for me to make that comment with how Adames looked tonight.
  10. If you think the calls the Brewers got were as impactful as the one's Gallen got then I don't know what to tell you. I get it you feel the need to be contrarian and defend umps, but acting like Gallen and the DBacks weren't huge benefactors from this ump tonight then you're hopeless.
  11. You don't think the ump's horrendous strike zone has forced the Brewers players to expand their zones? Gallen's curveball has 50+ inches of vertical break. When guys have no clue what is going to be called a strike it leads to chasing crap in the dirt. Brewers weren't chasing anything egregious until that second inning when Gallen's strike zone was as big as the Grand Canyon.
  12. None of those errors led to runs so pretty sure that has nothing to do with the score being 3-0.
  13. We are down 3-0 because when Gallen had no clue where his stuff was going, the ump bailed him out with countless terrible strike calls. That settled Gallen down and allowed him to go 7 innings when his pitch count should have been around 55 through 2 innings.
  14. Gallen had no command at the start of this game and the ump totally bailed him out of getting into trouble. Gallen then gets time to find his command and now went 7 scoreless. Bad umps just have way too significant of an impact on the game.
  15. No. They look just as terrible on savant and gameday.
  16. Keep in mind that inning would have been over if Miley got the same strike zone as Gallen in the Marte walk
  17. Miley's were even better because they were breaking from strike to ball. Gallen's started balls and ended balls.
  18. The rule is hitters eyes have to be up. Longoria's eyes were up.
  19. Gallen's curveball is averaging 53 inches of vertical break tonight. With how huge Gallen's strike zone has been, basically impossible for our guys to lay off those curveballs low.
  20. Voit has a career 129 wRC+ against RHP and had a 116 wRC+ against RHP last year. Counsell probably just liked the matchup better for Voit.
  21. I'd still say Adames is our most talented defender. Elite defensive SS with a plus arm. Turang and Wiemer have looked really good. Mitchell to me is the worst of the 4 defensively. Not that he isn't good. Just doesn't seem as fluid as those 3.
  22. Well this isn't true. We put up 5 runs in 4 innings against David Peterson in the final game of the Mets series.
  23. Far too soon to even think about something like this. Will have a much better grasp when we get closer and have a clearer picture on roster weaknesses and injury issues.
