    Gimenez is an elite defensive middle infielder coming off a 6 fWAR season and only had 4 years of team control left. Frelick isn't getting close to that AAV for a 7 year extension.

    I was already low confidence in him because he was one of the biggest overperformers of his peripheral numbers last season and was one of the biggest beneficiaries of defensive help in the MLB last year.

    Lauer with one more absolutely terrible outing in him before the season starts. Rockies just all over him. I have zero confidence in him heading into the season.

    I am inclined to agree, but getting Wiemer to the 40 man wouldn't be that difficult. Hiura was DFA'd to open Voit's spot and Justin Wilson could be put on the 60-day to open a spot for Wiemer.

    These players still have 3 options. Just because they make the team now doesn't mean they will be on the roster the entire season. Wiemer especially because Tyrone will be back eventually and Wiemer will be the guy to go down in that situation.

    Gus Varland's high school baseball team account seems to be under the impression that he has made the team. Awesome news for him. Absolutely deserved with how well he pitched this Spring.

    Honestly would give the baserunning edge to Wiemer as well. Frelick hasn't been nearly as good as Wiemer stealing bases in the minors. Wiemer has played 236 games and has 61 SB to 9 CS (87% success rate at .26 steals per game). Frelick has played 154 games and has 36 SB to 10 CS (78% success rate at .23 steals per game).

    He overperformed his xwOBA by 40 points in 2020 and had a .388 BABIP. If you think that would have been sustainable production over a full season you are absolutely fooling yourself.

    I just am not a fan of seeing Adames have a K-rate at 43% ever even if it is ST.

    Hopefully Adames got the swing and miss out the way this ST and is ready to go when the season starts next week because he’s been really bad this spring.

    I think one of Wilson or Payamps will come down with some type of soreness right before the season and start the season on the IL to give the Brewers a bit more time to figure things out.

    Varland has such good stuff. I hope Payamps comes down with a mysterious case of shoulder soreness or something like that so Varland can get a few more weeks before the Brewers have to make a decision.

    They did but last year you just needed an Apple ID to watch. This year you need to purchase the Apple+ subscription to have access to the game. Put more games behind an additional paywall.

    What players have recently dropped off the board? The only SP among our top 10 options that is injured is Ashby and he has been injured the entire spring.

    You’re less confident in a rotation that features Ashby and Houser as 6th and 7th options than last year where Alexander was the 7th option?

    I’m very confused by this. Why are you more concerned this year than the last few years when we have the same rotation but much better depth options?
