  1. It has been painful to watch his approach at the plate, particularly with off-speed pitches-but do not give up hope. When you least expect it: https://pinkmonkey.com/dl/library1/book1305.pdf And yes, I know the time span in the poem is twenty years years between the ignominious strikeout and his redemption, and I know this is fiction-but the message comes through loud and clear. Casey was worse than an asterisk but, in the end, figured it out. CY will do the same...
  2. He looks like Brandon Woodruff's brother. That's got to count for something, right? 😉
  3. You are probably right. Having said that, some teams have learned that investing that much money can hamstring an organization. The Brewers are one team that has been taught that lesson.
  4. First of all, thanks very much for responding, Cory! Yes, we should go after Skubal-with one big exception: unlike the time we rented CC our owner should break the piggy bank and immediately sign him to a two-year extension. If we can do that (I know it borders on being a pipe dream), then two top 100 prospects and one or two position players would, IMO, not be too high a price to pay. The other option would be to do the same thing in pursuing Mason Miller. If we could get him, there would not be another team in all of baseball that could match the back end of the Brewer's bullpen!
  5. Outfield is not the Achilles heel for the Brew Crew. IMO getting a front-line starter and another quality reliever should be the top priority. We have to counter the Dodgers' rotation should we meet them in the NLCS.
  6. If Trevor blows another save to extend the losing streak, I think it will be a foregone conclusion that Uribe becomes the default closer.
  7. Brandon has demonstrated for us the heart of a true team player. Whatever it takes to help, even if it involves stepping a bit out of his comfort zone to do so. I hope he is a mainstay of the Brewers for a long time!
  8. He certainly proved he could perform when the lights were on. It would be worth a try!
  9. While I realize that Nick Kurtz might be untouchable, what do you think about a trade with the Athletics? Brewers get Kurtz and a strong AA or higher pitcher. Athletics get Peralta, Megill and a top prospect not named Made. The Athletics are weak in pitching, and that could be the tipping point.
  10. I could live with that...😆.
  11. OK-I could get banned from Brewer Fanatic after proposing this, but here goes: Athletics get Peralta, Megill and Bauers Brewers get Nick Kurtz and a mid or top-tier pitcher from their farm system. If I read correctly, Kurtz's salary is under Freddy's, but not by much. Think what it would be like to have a two-headed power combo at first base. Waiting for the fallout... 😏
