  1. Francis and Manoah are on the IL and I just think they should add a starter if they are going for it as they don’t have the depth sitting in AAA to cover an injury situation.
  2. I think the Jays are a team to look at if we are dealing from strength and decide to move a starter or two. Is there a specific prospect or two that you’d like to get for one of these two and send them to the AL? Landen Maroudis is one name I like as a young pitcher in AA. Only 20 and has the look of a future 3-4 starter. Josh Kasevich is another as an able to handle SS infielder ready as soon as next year and could at least handle being a better Dunn/Mona replacement as they get slightly closer to arbitration.
  3. Hey Turbo. I’ve missed you and good to hear from you again. I like DL Hall a lot but Ashby more and you have to give something to get something. Simple as that buddy.
  4. I guess my idea was the big “if” of our brain trust liking Vaughn/Bauers better two weeks from now, that we’d be cleared of his buyout and option.
  5. Quintana and Perkins or Collins for Aroldis Garcia if Texas wants to try win now….who says no? Otherwise,, Aroldis Garcia for Ernesto Martinez and Tyler Yeager.
  6. Good last post. I guess my thought is if we believe in Vaughn/Bauers being as good or better for the rest of the year than Hoskins, that DJ would be a better super sub for us thus upgrading the roster while not adding money.
  7. If the money cancels out LeMeighu or Hoskins with a wash on the contract money?
  8. Versatility is the only reason, And in throwing out there literally since it kinda makes sense, haven’t thought about it. If the money is equal who says no?
  9. I probably spelled his name wrong and a mod can edit but would you take DJs versatility and added salary over Hoskins? DJ was df’d btw.
  10. I am talking Abram’s. And I’d shop that package for the best immediate help we can get regardless of position.
  11. Make it Quero Black CRod Boeve and we have a deal.
  12. I think we should still consider giving him the QO if he comes back strong. I’d need an organizations top three pitching prospect or else I’d keep him. Ideally move the asset attained in a Suarez deal then.(
  13. Agreed, whatever we get for Quintana would be the same as for Cortes which spring training time would be ludicrous . Sell high on Quintana not low on Cortes (if we must move a starter).
  14. Nestor if healthy is better than our all star Peralta imo. By no means should the success of our current and AAA starters fathom trading Cortes in what would be a massive low. He has pitched only a handful of innings this year and could easily be a dominant ace come playoff time partially because of that. Either hoard the starters or trade Quintana for a better return than Civale if we need to remove one from the picture.
  15. Yep he realized Big Red. Move along now kind friend.
  16. Cortes if heathy could be our ace come playoff time and has his free agent dollars hinging on performing well. I’d tread very lightly moving him even with our surplus of starting pitching.
  17. How he handles Peralta and our payoff from him will be a big judgement point. Then, how he handles adding at this deadline will be big too. Does he waste prospects on a bullpen arm or Gerardo Parra like depth piece that don’t really move the needle at all? Does he stand Pat and see our DL as the place wheee we can add to our team? Does he make a bold move like dealing Peralta or Hoskins at the deadline (maybe we get a 1b in Peralta trade).
  18. Rangers 3bman has been struggling but I have always liked him. Could this present a buy low opportunity? DL Hall for Jung?
  19. I just think our best call is to deal him at the deadline, or at least after the season. A team trading for him knows they will at least get a comp first rounder back. If Nestor and Woody show well then trade Peralta at the deadline though. Next year Henderson and Crow will need rotation spots I feel. Gasser maybe too. Get a big time bat prospect for Peralta and a topish prospect arm in A ball or so for him.
  20. If we can trade Cortes in a three way deal of sorts where whatever we get for him we ship for Suarez, that would be ideal.
  21. Id target Suarez and otherwise pass on this deadline as I like the pitching and position guys enough as is. I’d be willing to deal them Boeve and Wichowski at most though but would prefer a lesser pitcher.
  22. We lost the first overall pick in this years rule 5 draft with a lesser system. Still, our staffs omission of him led to a loss of a very valuable pitcher that should have been protected or traded for help at the deadline last year. I feel this year we have 4-5 that need to be dealt or will be lost: What say you about prep for rule 5 draft?
  23. No further info needed. My question is if he is NL rookie of the year do we get a pick and where would it lie?
  24. Send him to SF with Hudson and maybe a distant prospect for Tyler Fitzgerald.
