  1. I feel Ross might be in the rotation rather than Junis. Otherwise I agree.
  2. Prefer him to Haase and Nola. Useful to have enough catchers until Quero is ready, especially with Hasse and Nola's recent batting record.
  3. Having thought about it more, I think I am fine with the return, Hall is a HUGE question mark. Can he control his stuff enough to be a starter? Ortiz is decent and can contribute. The draft pick is also pretty great because of the extra bonus pool money. The 34th pick is assigned 2.48 million. Lets us get another Cooper Pratt. I think I would have been perfect with the deal had we gotten a lotto ticket/lower-ranked prospect. Someone like Trace Bright or Alex Pham. Interesting arms, far from guarantees. Overall, I think its to early to form an opinion. Can't wait to see the new guys in Spring Training.
  4. Last year was plenty deep and we ended up signing Julio Teheran. Its always good to have pitching depth. Just in case.
  5. I've seen 2 years- 22M which could be decent. I understand the concerns about blocking prospects but I really want us to have a solid rotation and prospects can do what Burnes, Woody, Freddy did in 2018.
  6. So 1.Peralta 2.Miley 3.Rea 4.Gasser 5.Hall 6,Ashby if healthy/Ross. I'd like one more solid guy. Another Rea-type to solidify the rotation. Especially since Miley will get injured at some point and Ashby probably won't be ready at the start of the season.
  7. No more Burnes... Peralta Miley Rea Ross Gasser Ashby if healthy We need to trade, sign an FA
  8. If we were planning to compete this year, which the Hoskins signing indicates, I wonder what will happen to the rotation. Peralta, Miley, Rea, Ross, Gasser/Ashby if healthy is far from what we need to compete. SP2 is an ageing guy who is unlikely to make 25+ starts, SP3 was on the AAA shuttle last year, SP4 basically hasn't pitched in a year
  9. Still waiting on what they will do, but some guys that interest me: Jose Bravo- Struggled with Minnesota in AA and AAA but has done great with Culiacán this winter. Could be interesting in AAA. Casey Sadler- Old vet with a decent Major League record. Had shoulder surgery and struggled in AAA after he returned. Could be interesting to see if we can help him get back to his former self. Matt Wisler- Another old vet with a decent record. Struggled in AAA with Toledo and Buffalo. Has a pretty good slider that interests me. Raffi Vizcaíno- Struggled in AAA because of a really high BB/9 but has some great K stuff. Has done great in the Dominican Winter League.
  10. Estevez in Wisco! Yes!
  11. Decent pickup. If he gets back to 21-22 form he could be an interesting bench bat. If he does the same he did last year he is a not terrible injury replacement. I certainly prefer having to call Arroyo up to having Jamhai Jones.
  12. Absolutely. I think maybe getting a vet FA and lets see which of the 3 wins the job. I would also like a new punter. O'Donnel and Whelan are not good enough.
  13. In addition to what others have said, catching is way more than errors and passed balls. I've admittedly seen him little, but his framing seems subpar. No idea how his game calling it but from what I gather it is also less than great.
  14. Agree with LS. Orzech had one really bad snap and one bad one on Saturday. That's 1/3 on a really important playoff game. Also just doesn't strike me as the most consistent guy. At least some competition would be good. I'm also not in love with Whelan. 24th in average, 31st in net, 10th highest TB%, 26th in In20%. That is definitively in the bottom 1/3 in the league. The field position game is key especially with out Joe Barry defence. I think we can do better than him. O'Donnell isn't the answer either.
  15. New kicker is a goal for the offseason,
  16. Good for Milner
  17. Interesting to see what people thought of a decade ago. Who knows what will be of the current top 20. Btw the Chris McFarland you linked played 3 games for the Baltimore Monumentals of the 1884 Union Association.
  18. Steelers win
  19. Ive played Madden a few times. Im sure I can do it!
  20. Oh great let them get into FG range in 2 plays.
