Jackson Chourio Chourio is Chourio, 'Nuff saidJeferson Quero August and September were far from top prospect stuff. I understand he was injured, but that is also a concern. He really struggled when he came back. The tools are absolutely there and I expect a bounceback next year. Eager to see how he will do in Nashville.Tyler Black He is ready to contribute in the Majors. Tore up AA and AAA this year. The only concern is over his defensive home, but even that can solve itself. Personally, I like the idea of trying him out at first but we shall see.
I just absolutely love his bat.Jacob Misiorowski The control is the one thing he needs to figure out. Once he has that, he will be an MLB pitcher. Insane stuff, incredible Ks and amazing at limiting contact. Just can't stup walking and plunking batters. The ceiling is sky-high.
I will also reiterate that, even though I know nothing of pitching mechanics, he scares me. I don't know what but I feel like he will blow out his elbout sooner rather than later.Robert Gasser Another guy who is ready for the Majors. Has good stuff and led the International Legue in strikeouts. The control was the only concern and he has honed it in Brock Wilken Wilken's bat is really exciting. A lot of power and has surprisingly hit for average with good OBP skills. I also love that the K% has stayed in the 21-22% range.
I am really excited to see how he does in AA, maybe AAA, in 2024.Carlos F Rodriguez Pitcher of the year without question. Love everything about him.
I think he could come in in mid-2024 as a reliever.Luis Lara The power is really concerni. I think he might end up as a 4th outfielder/ pinch runner, of course, I would love for him to develop.Logan Henderson The ace of the Mudcats. Appleton looks like where he'll start, but I am hoping for a mid-season promotion to Biloxi. Fantastic arm.Mike Boeve I really like his hit-tool. Still to see what he can do. He struggled a lot more in A+ but was still solid.Josh Knoth Ranked here because we haven't seen him yet. Has insanely good pure stuff.Eric Brown Jr I was wrong about him. The injury and slow start threw off his starts. I am still not very confident but he definitely has a lot more potential than I gave him credit for.Cooper Pratt Great job in rookie ball. Looks like a good prospect, can't wait to see more. Really exciting.Luke Adams Had a great season. Love the power and the swing.Eric Bitonti Looks really good. I want to see how he does next year.Yophery Rodriguez Great in the DSL. I hope to see him in Arizona next year. Maybe Appleton? I am a bit sceptical as he has only played DSL ball.Dylan O'Rae Same concerns as Lara. Great OBP but where is the power? I don't need him to hit 30+ homers but only 9 XBH in 300+ career ABs is too little.Bradley Blalock Could become great. His bad performance in Wisconsin is discouraging but I want to see how he does in AA next year. Possible late season cup of coffee if he does really well?Wes Clarke Really consistent bat. Overlooked performer in Biloxi Won't stick as a catcher but he could be a solid 1B. Would love to see what he can do in Nashville next year. Shane Smith Really liked his work this season. Whip is down and K's up. If he can keep it up he could be fighting for a place in the bullpen in 2025.
Others
Juan Baez- Incredible season for him. Did struggle in Carolina.
Ryan Brady- Really solid too. Put Smith over him because Smith is younger.
Jadher Areinamo- Feel like he could develop strongly.
Tobias Myers- Was really good at the end of the year. Want to see how he does next year and if he can maintain those results consistently
Isaac Collins- Had a strong season. Hoping to see him improve next year at Nashville.
Noah Campbell- Great season. Hoping to see him improve next year at Nashville.
Jesus Chirinos- Had the second-best OPS in the Carolina league but struggled in Wisconsin.
Satchell Norman- Strong results in the ACL but I want to see how he does against higher competition. Not familiar with his defensive game but it would be great if he could stick as C.
Jace Avina- Recovered from an awful first half to finish strongly.
Patricio Aquino- Great number 2 to Henderson. Really solid season.
Ryan Birchard- Exciting arm.
Cameron Wagoner- Got better with time. Hope he keeps it up.
Demetrio Nadal- Really good season. Only the DSL so I won't rank him higher.
Robert Moore- Had a really disappointing season. Hoping for a bounce back next year.
Tyler Woessner- Struggled as the season went on. Talented arm.
Will Ruddy- Solid season. Good arm. Hope he does well in Wisconsin.
Evan McKendry- Solid arm. Feels like Janson Junk/ Colin Rea/ Jason Alexander 2.0
Matthew Wood- Really struggled in Wisconsin. Hoping he can grow next year. Really though he was our second best catching prospect behind Quero but he just could not put it together.
Edgardo Ordonez- Similar to Norman but the bat was less good.
Tanner Shears- Great job from the pen.
Gerson Calzadilla- Amazing in the DSL but struggled in Carolina, Hoping for an injury-free season.
Melvin Hernandez- Really solid but only DSL.
Eric Prado- Really solid but only DSL.
Enniel Cortez- Really solid but only DSL.
Freddy Zamora- Had an average offensive season, and the defence is just too inconsistent.
Honourable mentions
Jose Siberian- Had a fantastic season and was an important leader. Sad to see him go.
Luis Amaya- Valuable lefty from the pen. Don't understand his release.
Patrick Dorrian- Fantastic season. Not a prospect anymore for me as he was drafted in 2014. Still had a great year.
Overall, really hard to rank everyone. From 15 to like 30 there are so many talented young men. There are also many who had weak seasons or struggled when promoted who I hope will do well next year.
