  1. He'd look good coming out of the pen. I expect he wants to start, though. They all do...
  2. I don't know why, but I feel better that Jack seems as puzzled by this as me. I guess maybe the Brewers felt like Durbin would never appear more valuable than he did after last year, and it's better to trade him a year too early than too late. I think it's Williams until Fischer looks ready, and Fischer might just look ready in spring training. One can hope. And it didn't hurt that it seems Boston kinda panicked when they didn't get Bregman back.
  3. If they are making a related move, I'd guess it's already agreed to but needs some crossing and dotting of i's and t's.
  4. I guess Williams could play second with Turang moving to short. Depends on how his bat shows this spring. JoeyO can make decisions easier by regaining some semblance of competence at the plate. Bauers is going to be on the roster, and I expect a good season from him. Of course, Mitchell is the wild card. Maybe they get lucky, but they have to be prepared to replace him. (Of course, they have to be prepared to replace everybody, but...) They have a ton of fast outfielders that aren't good bats in the minors. I don't understand all of the redundancy.
  5. If I can dream that the Brewers will win the World Series, it's pretty easy to dream that Mitchell will slash .300/.375/.500
  6. I'm not as sure of Big Woo as Jack. I'm concerned that age, injury, and time away have sapped his staying ability. And Priester seemed to be wearing down health-wise at the end of the season, too. My pipe dream is that Zac Gallen doesn't get the multi-year deal he wants and the Brewers sweep in and give him a two year deal with the second year a player option with a $2-5mm buyout, probably need to be $23mm for one year. Is that too much for the Brewers? Yup. but I can dream. It ain't my money...well, my contribution is rather minimal in any case.
  7. McGuire will be on the roster this year, and unless Quero shows that his arm has substantially returned to pre-injury form McGuire will likely be the back-up catcher all season. Leaving him off the 40 man gives the Brewers room to maneuver should they want to add another starting pitcher. My guess is that McGuire has a handshake agreement that he will be elevated to the 40 man this spring unless he really underperforms. His biggest risk is injury this spring, in which case the Brewers come out none the worse.
  8. I'll stand by it. He'll hit low pitching better. Another guy that will benefit is Aaron Judge.
  9. Another guy that an automated strike zone will benefit. Sal gets so many high strikes called against him that it's reedunculous.
  10. Thanks. Let's hope he's receptive to the coaching from The Pitching Lab.
