  1. Well, I see it as we have a couple options. I like jj's idea of doing something in Madison, but if enough people want to do something in the Milwaukee area, I can check around. It may be tough to coordinate two events, being we're already in mid-March (assuming we want to do this before Opening Day). If jj (or someone else) wants to contact someone at the Great Dane, that would be appreciated, otherwise I can do it as well. It would also be helpful if we could get some others chiming in here to ensure there is real interest in doing an event this year.

  4. Seems like Betancourt has looked pretty good so far this spring. I know it's "just spring training", but maybe getting traded has motivated him.
  5. Roenicke has pretty much said that Loe is staying in the bullpen.
  6. That would be fine with me, as we live closer to Madison than Milwaukee. I know this idea has been discussed in the past and might be fun. There are other Madison area posters on this forum who might be interested. "Downtown Madison is a little crowded right now". Maybe right now, but in a couple weeks or so? Perhaps something could be done the weekend of the 26th (which is right before Opening Day).

  11. The problem is that Rogers and Parra both have injury issues right now. Possibly either could be ready by Opening Day, but we'll see. Fiers is an up and coming talent, but has only appeared in 10 games at the AA level so far. He's just not ready yet.Bernie's Crew suggests any of Amaury Rivas, Wily Peralta, or Cody Scarpetta as possibly candidates.
  12. For the prices, I'd be tempted to take either Marcum or Garcia. Similar question: My keeper team is currently a mess. Would you guys keep Justin Morneau, or let him go? My other options are lesser known but possibly higher upside.
  13. I feel a bit better after sleeping on this. It was like a gut punch to me reading about this on Twitter yesterday afternoon. I was fearing the worse, but now it sounds like it's not too bad. It's still disappointing news, but not the end of the world.
  14. Picked up MLB 11 after I had lunch this afternoon. Just finished my first exhibition game. Not much to say, other than it's pretty darn awesome. It's only one game for me, but I felt like the hitting was a bit less frustrating than last season's game (I used zone controls, didn't care for the analog hitting that much). Tweaked the sliders slightly, and I was good to go. I do like the new analog pitching system. Feels more natural than the meter system. The graphics also seem a bit more sharp and players look a bit more natural than in previous incarnations. Nice touch: Miller Park has the new scoreboard and logo above it. Minor nitpick: No dreads on Rickie Weeks.
  15. It's too bad he got hurt last year. I think he would have had a really solid season, and then the Brewers wouldn't have had to bring up Lucroy so soon.
  16. He doesn't have the mullet or jacket wearing ability of Peterson.
  17. Covey's father was also very effusive about the Brewers organization after Dylan ended up deciding to go to college. I don't think there were any really ugly ulterior motives.
  18. Well, 86 wins may be enough to win this division. Plus there's always the chance Melvin makes a move mid-season if the team looks to be in contention.
  19. Honestly, if Betancourt puts up numbers like he did in KC in 2010, but also somehow plays adequate defense, he'll be fine. Not betting money that will happen, just sayin'... Man, it's so good to see the Brewers on TV again, even if it's not in HD!
  20. Any news on this? I don't live in the Milwaukee area but would be willing to try and help put something together.

  25. I asked about broadcasts in the other thread. Here are two helpful links for future reference: Broadcast schedule is here (subject to change, but includes spring training games). Someone was asking about finding what stations are part of the Brewers Radio Network the other day.Full list (including map) right here.
