  1. They're back again.
  2. No, they're gone now. Weird. Thanks for looking into it though.
  3. No problem. Yes, I'm seeing them over there as well.
  4. I'm using Internet Explorer.
  5. Under the header line above the discussion thread that starts with "Brewerfan.net Fan Forum" and then has the folder title followed by the topic title.
  6. I see we can rate topics now. The heart symbol just looks weird, though. No big deal, just noticed it.
  7. Latest from Ken Rosenthal. Source: Weeks deal with #Brewers would be between 3 and 5 yrs, buying out at least 2 FA years. Sides trying to avoid arb hearing Thur. Still seems kind of vague, but you have to believe they are getting closer if some rough parameters are in place.
  8. Yeah, I agree. Seems like a pretty reasonable contract to me. He's going into his age 28 season, so I would assume the odds of him "falling off a cliff" production wise are fairly low.
  9. I wonder if the Brewers wouldn't consider it, if neither Marcum nor Greinke are amenable to signing extensions.
  10. I agree with WTP. I think something will happen very soon.
  11. I asked the same thing on Twitter yesterday. If you expect him to suck, and he sucks, it's not really a disappointment, is it?
  12. I don't think he'll actually opt out, but probably leverage the option into an extension for more money.
  13. I get it; but I think if I ever hear "Living on a Prayer" again I'll have to tear my ear drums out.
  14. I hope to never hear Aerosmith or Bon Jovi at the Super Bowl. No offense, but their hits are so incredibly played out that hearing them during the Halftime Show would be incredibly cliche.
  15. Breakout: Shaun Marcum. As much hype as Greinke has gotten, I feel like Marcum has flown under the radar a bit. I think he is going to come in eager to prove himself as an elite pitcher, and is going to have a stellar season. To a lesser extent I think Lucroy will have a very nice season. Disappointment: Chris Narveson. I hope this isn't the case, but I think he will falter early and be out of the rotation by the All-Star break.
  16. I don't have any big issue with what Lawrie said. I don't think he was being vindictive against the Brewers with his comments. That said, I agree with those that don't really care what happens with him at this point. It would be different if he had been traded in the division or something. Being that he's playing for Toronto now, his fate isn't going to affect the Brewers too much for the foreseeable future.
  17. Just for fun, I decided to start a free NL only league. Will probably be Head-2-Head categories, but we can change this depending on what people want to do. 12 teams unless there's overwhelming demand. Link is here: http://games.espn.go.com/flb/leagueoffice?leagueId=27393 Please PM me with your email address and I can send you an invite. Note: I only have FOUR spots open. Trying to get them filled out ASAP so draft date/time can be finalized. Please PM me very soon if you have interest!
  18. apirk, I really doubt that's true. Like you said, if he had signed, it would be all over the place at this point. I really doubt "respect for Stan Musial" would preclude writers from reporting on this once it got out. This is the latest that ESPN has on the situation: Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols received and rejected a contract proposal from St. Louis two weeks ago and there has been no progress in the talks since then, a source told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney.
  19. Is Montreal really a viable option for another team? It seemed like MLB was more than happy to get out of that city. Is there really a groundswell of support to bring back a new version of the Expos in Montreal?
  20. This trade should work out well for both teams in the long run.
  21. Hart just had one in 2008 and Weeks had one in 2007 (is that considered long enough ago?).
  22. Haudricourt with a somewhat interesting kinda sorta update. I checked in with Brewers assistant general manager Gord Ash this afternoon to see what's going on with contract negotiations with second baseman Rickie Weeks. Ash has been the front man for talks with Weeks' agent, Greg Genske. Ash told me he'd have no further comments on the negotiations other than to say "we are still talking." My take on this is that negotiations are at a sensitive stage and therefore talking about them can be counter productive. Either that or the Brewers don't want to be the only side talking. Genske doesn't return calls about the talks so you get nothing out of him.
  23. It looks like some of the buildings that Hitler and the Nazis dreamed that they were going to build after winning World War II.
  24. This backs up my earlier hunch that something might still happen. It sounds more positive than some of the news we've heard recently, at least.
