  1. I would have loved to see Carlos back, but for the contract the Brewers offered him, not the one he got from the Astros.
  2. How does Braun act like a frat guy?
  3. I agree that college players probably aren't in the top 10. Heck, I don't even know who PJ Hill is...I personally don't really follow college sports, it's just not my thing.
  4. A lot of people really aren't familiar with Ryan Braun yet, which is a shame. Maybe he can get some big endorsements to get some more name recognition in this state. Personally, I would guess Donald Driver is in the top two or three, if not #1 right now. I would bet Andrew Bogut might fall in the top 10. Michael Redd as well.
  5. What user name does that guy post under here?
  6. Haudricourt used to be called an unequivocal Brewers apologist. Now I guess he's a Yost basher and Weeks hater. I don't think the guy can win, being the most prominent journalist covering the team on a regular basis.
  7. We don't need sweeps...they're nice, but if the Crew can keep winning series, that should be good enough for a playoff berth.
  8. Yes, we got a similar card the other day saying FSN-HD would still be added on 8/20 here, but made it sound like the other HD channels would be delayed. Since I wasn't exactly pumped to get Smithsonian HD, I don't really care.
  9. Looks like Suppan is doing well to me right now. All that matters is results at this point, and he's getting them. If he continues pitching well down the stretch, he'll be (basically) worth his contract.
  10. Oh well. Not every two guys on the team have to be best friends with each other.
  11. Saving all for when Charter finally starts carrying the HD feed on 8/20. Woohoo!
  12. Does this mean I can finally get that gorilla fur coat I've been wanting?
  13. After the big win last night, does Yost get any credit for not letting the fight derail the team, as some posters and a lot of people in the media were saying it would?
  14. Actually, I was listening to WSSP on Saturday afternoon, before the Brewers game, and they were talking to an Atlanta sports writer (or he may have been an announcer, I'm not totally sure). They asked him about Yost and he seemed a little surprised that Yost was viewed mainly in a negative light. Made it sound like it would be a popular move if the Braves brought him back down the line. I think it just shows that most fan bases tend to hate their team's manager.
  15. If this is the incident that winds up being where the wheels fall of the wagon, it's going to be a long couple of months. I hope that's not the case, but it's hard to be optimistic as a Brewers fan right now. Hopefully this thing somehow galvanizes the team to start playing better.
  16. Pretty awesome accomplishment for the two of them, and for the Brewers as an organization.
  17. It depends what you define as "adequate" I guess. He doesn't hit for very good average or carry a high OBP, and his defense is quite shaky. It seems like some kind of upgrade should eventually be obtainable if he doesn't turn it around. I do agree that the starting rotation will and should be priority #1 this off-season.
  18. Yes, but the point is that the Brewers are past the point where they can have guys learning on the job at the big league level, and hoping that they turn into competent all around players. Weeks' chance is slipping away quickly. If he does not develop into an adequate defensive and offensive player by the end of this year, it will probably force the Brewers' hand into making some type of move.
  19. I really do not want to see Braun moved again. I feel he has turned out to be a better than expected LF so far this season. He also said after the position change that he did not really like playing third base anyway. The Brewers don't need to ask one of their young players (one who is a cornerstone of the franchise) to change positions yet again. Perhaps the answer will be to look at Gamel as a 1B or corner outfielder, and sign a free agent 3B.
  20. Or sometimes the projections are just wrong and a team performs better than was anticipated due to x, y, and z factors.
  21. I'm guessing they know but don't particularly care. There are cameras at every game, at every stadium in baseball. I doubt they really care whose logo is on the cameras that day.
  22. Is Arroyo any kind of upgrade over Suppan though?
  23. Yes, somewhere in Indiana I'm sure. It was originally titled "Good Morning Miss Bliss" and they were in a middle school setting. Most of the cast then moved to high school in California without explanation.
  24. Like was pointed out earlier this week, it does seem that the Brewers lose a lot of their nationally televised games. I would have revised the topic's title to say "Brewers Nationally Televised Record?" It really doesn't have much to do with Yost, since the Brewers are the only team he's managed.
  25. I guess to make up for their feelings of inadequacy. Drinking beer and vodka at a two year old's birthday party as well. Classy.
